It is a great song. I was in P7 in Uganda. It brings back good memories. I am 57 yrs old now. I now follow the lyrics and understand the whole song because I have over the years learnt some basic lingala. I like the trumpet at the climax. It is great! Then the guitar work which follows before the Nakosasala sala te..... It is a great song indeed!!!!

Masterful piece. Moreno Batamba having a very strong base vocals in the background. Absolute African Classical Record. The drums, guitars and saxophone depicting an absolute African Composition.
Thank you very much Darubini2 for this song...a classic...composed by Mukaputu Kalembi Kadjos...with others like Chuza Kabasselleh, Monimambo Jimmy, Lava Machine and Moreno Batamba...Please look for a song by Shika Shika called 'Nyako Ber" and any song by Orchestre Boma Liwanza or Special Liwanza both led by Monimambo...Kudos!

Moreno Batamba in the late 70s with the booming voice. The late Sammy Kasule in the chorus. The song was played widely in discotheques. It brought joy to music lovers. It made my youthful years in Nakuru worth remembering.
reminds me of my late bro Wilton who had a record player but was working in Nairobi in early 1980s. I was left to operate this vinyl player. I really liked this song.

Most people fail to distinguish between the voice of Moreno and that of Ingange Djo Djo Ikomo who is also on this piece. And Djo Djo is an outstanding vocalist and composer, just like Batamba.
Is this not the same Jojo Ikomo who joined TP OK Jazz later? At OK Jazz, his voice does not come out as being very deep as Moreno's voice. Or were there 2 Jojo Ikomo's?
Reminds of Moreno Batamba with that deep sweet voice who unfortunately left us when he was just 38 years of age. We the East Africans shall never forget you, especially all who enjoyed music in the 80s when you sang with Coco-zigo Mike.
