When I receive the RAM clip mount, the RAM ball is not attached to the clip. The pack supplies the nut and bolt but I can't figure it how to install/attach the RAM ball to the clip? Any diagram or video for such installation?
I ordered it, smal Claw, 90's adapter and the big spider. For the car the squeegee so I can easily change from motorcycle to car and vice versa. I'm looking forward to the cool videos.
TreesOnTheBeach Thank you for watching the video, I really enjoy the RAM mounts they do a great job and I'm always very confident when mounting my GoPros to them. I think maybe this is what you are asking about but if not just snoop around their site for a bit I'm sure they have something that will work for your application... www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-149Z-GOP1
Touring Midwest Thanks so much for the reply, I really appreciate it! I really want to take this and bolt it into my vehicle so you've answered my big question!
Gday Andrew thanks for the review. It's a pleasure listening to your relaxed way of presenting. Do you know if the jaws (tough claw) would clamp to a shelf? Or are they only good for clamping onto something round? Trying to kill two birds with one stone rather then also buying the "tough clamp" you showed at the start of the vid. My best to ya
You have already tried it, for all the others I can say that it goes without problems eg at the desk / office table ect. It just should not be too thin the plate.
What do you think of this mount on jet ski handle bars? I mean it's going to get wet. Do you think the rubber will slip? I don't think so but I thought I'd ask. I know there is a "U" bolt system which does the same thing but only more permanent Thanks
I think It is possible that it might slip under extreme circumstances, but you can crank it down pretty darn tight. I would have to do some testing in order to give you a definite answer but I feel that in most cases it should be fine. The weight of a GoPro for instance is probably not enough to cause it to slip even when wet especially if you use a shorter double socket arm. In any case I always recommend using some sort of tether just to be on the safe side.
Touring Midwest I thought the same thing so I ordered both the tough claw AND the "u bolt" mount. I always tether... I'm using it for a GPS on my very bouncy jetski
I don’t trust the ram mount itself holding a phone. Looks flimsy. I like this calms though because I can take it off the bars for a better look on the Roadking
I have only heard of the phone mount failing a couple times from people, I have never had any issues with it personally. that being said I only use it in my work truck now because I switched to the Ciro3d Powered phone holder on my bike.that tough claw is really good though.. yeah I love that thing.

You need the double socket arm to attach the the parts together.. that is what makes adjustable as well.
2:47 does that screw tighten both ball hinges?
Geovanny Aguirre yes 👍

i think you'll be real happy with that, RAM mounts rock! thank you for being part of the Touring Midwest community👍
What size do you use for a standard motorcycle handlebar?
Really great review... I am tempted to try this for my GoPro. Do you know if there is a RAM clamp for a very thin surface, say less than .5"?

Touring Midwest Hey, thank you for responding! I love these mounts, but I was actually thinking of a clamp I could clip on the side of my windshield.
Is the ball piece on the back of the claw able to screw out?
Hey Mitch,
yes the ball is held in place with a Phillips head machine screw and a lock nut.

It doesn't really like flat objects so much, you might be able to get it to hold okay but maybe not super securely.

Touring Midwest no worries... we will see... this is my first experience with RAM.
I love snuggly clamps! Hahaha
