I have had a Hantop milker for a few years. Before milking, I rinse the milk can top with hot water. I have the 12 L can. The hot water softens the gasket and I feel the moisture creats a better seal. In 5 years I have not had the seal on the milk loosen up. I wash the teats and dry them before milking. This helps to stimulate the letdown of milk. I have also found my goats can let down enough milk per suction to reach the teats, and I worry this woukd contaminate the milk if they are not clean. The teat cups will develop a better suction with the moist dry skin. I then strip out a few squirts to clean the udder. I keep the machine running the whole time I'm milking. Remember, you are creating a vacuum in the milk can as well as the milking tubes and cups. I have a mixed herd of Dwarf Nigerian, Saanen, Boar, LA Mancha, and thier mixed babies. This machine has worked very well on all sizes, at all stages of lactation.

Yep I have one. The seal for the lid isn't the greatest I fight with it all the time. Maybe they should make a flat one for it. Also we found out that when the machine is finished we hand milk them out and there is a lot of milk left so it doesn't get all of it.

You can actually strip into the suction cups. Once i thumb break, ill strip right into it

Hi! Thanks for your comment. It has been a few months now since this video and I have definitely stripped into the cup as well. So handy!

I love my Hantop milker. I do have a problem with the gasket/seal. I can't always get the seal position right or something. When I clamp down the top, it pokes out the sides. A few times when I am milking, it will slip out from under the top. I lose all pressure. Have you run into this issue?

Hi! No I havent had that happen, I try to make sure the gasket is on well before heading out to the barn

I contacted Hantop and learned I didn't have my gasket installed correctly. It has to lay flat in the groove of the top.

How do you sanitize the lines? I use soapy water after every milking, just wondering if I should be doing a deeper clean weekly or something! Also, do you use it turned all the way up or just enough to get the milk flowing?

Hi! Thank you for your comment. The instructions for this machine say to use vinegar to sanitize when needed. I do it every once in a while

Only turn it up as high as necessary to achieve a good flow...you could hurt your ladies if not careful.

Would you happen to know if the cups will fit a Nigerian? I have a mixed milking herd.

I have had it work on first fresheners with teats so small you can't hold onto them. They work on all sizes! I was impressed

I have one. There's no vacuum gauge, so you have no idea if you have too much. Anything over 10 psi vacuum is too much. The inflations only squeeze at the tip, and the machine doesn't milk the goat out. Tried it on several goats, only to be disappointed. Save your money, and buy a good nupulse machine. Don't ruin your goats.
