- It's been 10 years since fans were introduced to the group known as The Shield. Roman Reigns, Jon Moxley, and Seth Rollins for the past decade have been the guys in WWE and AEW, and they've been nothing short of excellent. Giving fans legendary characters, matches, and rivalries. 10 years later let's take a look at some of their best matches, moments, and slow but steady rise.

@@itsatharva5038andy and Batista debuted aside a legend ric flair and an already established star triple h at the time.... These guys debuted as rookies ... Had no superstar status... They grew together so in that way shield has always been the most successful debut
Moxley even has a nice little reason why he comes from the crowd (so that it's not just a simple tribute to the shield). When he first came into AEW he tried going down the ramp normally but got attacked from behind, and ever since then he has never trusted the entrance way.
WWE started to lack superstars with a big aura and then The Shield arrived and changed the game. All of them are now carrying their respective company.

@It's Atharva Seth absolutely has star power. Look at his achievements, he’s done basically everything you can possibly do in wwe, 4 time world champ, 2 time us, 2 time IC, 6 time tag champ, MITB winner, Royal rumble winner, 2015 wrestler of the year, beat John Cena and Sting in the same night to become world champ and US champ. he’s absolutely a star & i don’t understand how people forget this. Moxley has huge star power as well not as much achievements as Seth but still, World champ in WWE & Aew. US champ in NJPW and wwe. 3 time IC, 2 time Tag champ. Won MITB , 2020 Wrestler of the year, has done the grand slam twice. also did great stuff in CZW after leaving wwe. Roman was last too win wrestler of the year actually and up until he turned heel was much more hated then Seth and Mox. All three of the are already legends of the business and some of the best in the world right now. but by no means is Roman the only one with star power.

It’s unbelievable how 10 years ago, this legendary stable debut and changed the wrestling world forever. While it was a bit hard at first for all 3 members to obtain great singles careers and they each had bumps along their way, but where they are nowadays, it’s just insane. Roman being the unstoppable GOAT right now, Seth being the iconic Visionary giving us many classics, and of course, Moxley giving us badass times with AEW and gave many people, who not only don’t want to return to WWE, but for those who haven’t watched since Attitude, now got an interest in wrestling again. I’m happy for all 3 men right now, it’ll be a sad day when all 3 retire. So until then, let’s all enjoy these 3 awesome competitors together, no matter if you love one company more than the other, or enjoy them both. Long live The Shield.

10 fucking years- it was a crazy ass ride for all of them. I have been a fan of them for 6 years and they have done so much. These three have been incredible, and their relationship is inseparable.
The Shield was just one of the greatest factions of all time, It's hard to belive that it has already been 10 years since they debut. In 2012 no one would have ever though that this 3 would be what they are right now. They gave us some many legendary moments, So many legendary matches and Who can forget their rivalry with the wyatt family. I miss them.
It’s crazy because I was there the night they arrived and the night of betrayal they both happened in the same arena which is just amazing storytelling in my opinion 🔥🔥

As someone who remembers the Ruthless Aggression Era, as someone who sat through the early PG Era The Shield was such a huge hit at the time bringing a new life to the WWE. Every time Sierra Hotel India Echo Lima Delta SHIELD played you knew it was going down. And to see their dominate run together smashing the previous era, and watched their character arcs after splitting up. The Shield is the best thing to happen to wrestling in the past 15 years.
One of the greatest trio to ever step foot inside a wwe ring these three guys were rookies when they debuted and everyone called them the future of wwe and here we are ten years later these three guys are ruling pro wrestling.
10 years of just classic matches!! Honestly Seth has always been my favorite though. Damn he’s so good!!
Rollins and Reigns at Royal Rumble has me desperate for a continuation of that feud. Such a genius one-off match that leaves the door wide open for a rematch.
@21:27 That comparison with Roman and Rollins to Cena and Edge kinda blew my mind. It’s pretty obvious in hindsight now but if that was intentional, that’s some great symbolic story telling.
These three guys became successful in an era where after a faction broke up only one or even none of them succeeded but these three are owning the bussiness right now👑👑

Its crazy how similar Roman and Rockys Careers have started.
Both wanted to be Football Players
Both "only" went to the CFL
Both got into the Business after Football
Both got rejected when WWE tried to force them on the Fans
Both turned it around and became massive stars

Just another fun stat to think about, every single PPV world title match WWE put on in 2015 AND 2016 featured at least one member of The Shield.
I would absolutely love if we get a Shield Showcase in the upcoming wwe games if it's somehow possible

I knew Seth and Dean were gonna be big deals. Tyler Black and Jon Moxley definitely had something that made them special on the indies. Roman was the weak link to me. Being overpushed as a Hoganesque babyface for years didn't help. Fortunately he found his niche and has become the big star that the company tried to make him for so long.

When I first saw the shield I was obsessed and when they split for some reason I saw something big in roman reigns , I never understood why ppl didn’t like him I’ve always liked him

The best faction to get its young talent over since Evolution in my opinion. Other factions have either failed or didn’t get every member over or established like these 2. I think Nexus could’ve been up there with them if they didn’t get buried at SummerSlam in my opinion. Legacy was a personal favorite that fizzled out but it’s great to see Cody being a main eventer. The Shield is definitely the most successful since Evolution.
Coming back to this after the 2023 rumble abd seeing sami betray Roman in almost the same way Rollins did is honestly amazing
it’s debatable but these 3 are the majority reasons why people watch wwe and aew and the triple threat with they characters right now would be interesting as hell in any company
Roman Reigns nowadays played a part why I lost a good chunk of interest in WWE. While Moxley is one the higher side among AEW wrestlers, Danhausen is more up my alley.

I always believed Dean would be wwe champion the second he got the United States.
Like he had most crazy and wild promo styles out of the trio in 12/13 whilst Roman didn’t speak much and Seth just wasn’t my guy or favourite.
If I had to pick only one of the three to stay it would of been Dean every time .

Tbf about Ambrose at WM31, it wasn't that he was necessarily midcard. He was carefully written off for the night, after being slammed through a ladder. He promised he'd be there to stop Rollin's cash in and that was why he couldn't

I remember being 15 in 2014 obsessed with the shield. The first time i had ever been to a WWE event. Was June 2nd. I remember seeing seths betrayal in person. Its something i will never forget.
Shield came and did what i thought Nexus was finna do, yet, with just three guys. Now Roman and Seth are leading Raw/Smackdown & Moxley doin the same for AEW….. WWE missed some chances (a shield triple threat at Mania, Shield reunion after the rollins sneak should happened) but legendary trio
