- 2 Amazing Ideas that will make Kingda Ka - the world's tallest roller coaster one of the best ones in the entire world - Without hurting capacity! Rumors have been around for years about Kingda Ka getting removed, and the 456 ft tall roller coaster is getting up there in age...
Which had me wondering, what does the FUTURE of Kingda Ka look like? So I let my imagination run wild for a bit and here are some ideas that could be on the table - IF Six Flags Great Adventure wanted to enhance their Strata coaster!
What do you think the future holds for Kingda Ka? Let me know in the comments.

Cool concept! I'd just like to point out that you could only run 3 trains with that block zone setup. There are only 4 block zones pictured and you always need atleast one additional block zone on the track compared to how many trains will operate. Otherwise you end up in a gridlock where no train is able to advance forward because all blocks are occupied.
So for 4 train operations, you'd need at least 5 block zones. In this case, I'd split the green block zone in two just like Kingda Ka operates today, where the swing launch up to the crest of the tower is one block, and from the crest of the top hat to the end of the final brake run is another block. And with 4 train operations, you'd also want to add additional block zones at the end of the ride so that atleast 3 trains can stack behind the station while a 4th train is still unloading/loading new riders.
My God…
Mang really is THE block zone expert
Very good input! Thank you for watching and sharing your knowledge ! There could be room to add a 4th block by extending the track before the return to station possibly. :)
@@KeepRidinCoasters no problem! And that would certainly work
Now we just have to have you be in charge of operating it! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
would've been funny if this was a 10 second video that just says "the future of Kinda Ka.... is awesome and fine. Smile Today!"
Lol 😂
All of this is cool, but I still wanna see more variety in launches. Which is why when I get enough money to do so, I’m starting a company dedicated to more reliable air/hydraulic launches. Now that’s still a ways out (I’m 21) but it is happening. I hate seeing all this neutering of launches in the name of reliability. We shouldn’t have to compromise!
Great video as always!
Wow I’m following this development… how cool! Who cares if you’re 21… change the game 🤌🏼🎢❤️
I just want them to keep it as it is
Kingda Ka was definitely the scariest roller coaster I've ever ridden! Just sitting on that launch track makes you feel like you're about to crap your pants 😬 Loved it though!
It really is wild for sure! Thank you for watching ! 🎢🎢
Thanks Brandon I'm looking for good things from SF See you this Saturday
Cedar Point: top thrill dragster getting re-imagined
Six flags Great Adventures: hold on there buddy, don't get ahead of yourself today now
There are markings at the current entrance for some project. Has anyone checked how the sightlines fit with Kingda aka.
what is it with the idea of a vertical spike on both king da ka and dragster. Not everyone wants a rollback you have to think of the ones that want to ride the coaster but don't want the rollback.
I just don't see this happening on either coaster.
Yeah it will be interesting to see what comes of this for sure :-)
So what's it to be? Jingda Ka or Kingda Ka?
When looking at it, Kingda Ka would’ve never been built if not for the success of the Dragster.
Top Thrill Dragster was like a testbed for Intamin’s Strata-Coasters. Anything done for Dragster was also put towards Ka.
In a way, a redesigned Kingda Ka would be something, but ultimately depends on the success of its redesigned sister-coaster.
What happens if the coaster accidentally rolls forward when it is supposed to roll back? 😂
I think they’ll keep it until the height record is broken. Then they’ll give it a reimagining. Or they’ll keep it for as long as they can before a reimagine.
I really hope they do not close it because I haven't been on it yet. I have been on dragster just not kingda ka. It would be so funny tho if SFGA goes and copies cedar point again but adds just a tiny little diffirence. Imagine ttd has a vertical spike and they put one on kingda ka that goes 1 foot taller. Typical six flags move I can totally see happening.
I would hope there would be some new launch technologies in development. LSM can’t achieve that intense feeling of being pulled at great speeds. Plus the backwards/forwards launch lacks the thrill. Superman: The Escape is very underwhelming in comparison to the Intamin Strata’s/accelerators
I like your idea of a spike but here’s another idea, after Kingda Ka’s main hill the one over Zumanjaro drop of death put in a Immelmann loop and or a corkscrew! I mean you already have the space, just take out the right amount of track and put in the new sections of track, I don’t think it would be that hard or costly. You could even build the new sections on site then just crane them into place. Start the build over the summer and put them in place over the winter, that’s contingent on how cooperative the weather is willing to be. What do you think?
That lazy new owner of six flags will just let it soldier on forever as is until six flags gets a new owner
With a joke like that, I had to give it a like 😂
What joke lol haha thank you!
@@KeepRidinCoasters You said, "If you've enjoyed this video, take a second and give it a like. If you did not like this video, take a second and give it a like." That was funny to me!
Man your vids keep getting better and better! Keep up the great work and imagination/ideas fella! 👍🙏
Thank you so much!!!
Just starting a discourse in the comments: twisted spike or straight spike y’all? I like straight spike backwards I think the twist is better forwards
That would be epic!!
For a better future can it be 495ft.
It would be nice if SF would stop trying to beat CP & FIX and take care if ElToro. They can’t take care of what they have, never could, so this would just be ridiculous
Idk I don’t see them doing any of this at all and there’s no reason to. The only reason this is happening with TTD is because of the accident; even though Cedar Point was cleared of any wrong doing I think they knew public trust in the ride was tarnished somewhat, Intamin was sick of dealing with it and the ride was a maintenance headache so Cedar Point saw an opening for an exit route with this ride and they took it. The ride is so popular and iconic they knew they couldn’t get rid of it, so this was their chance to do this reimagining. I heard the year of the accident they spent like 1 or 2 million dollars refurbishing the launch system so there definitely was no plan to change the ride at all. Kingda Ka still runs great and considering Six Flags isn’t doing that well financially idk if I see them spending the money to do it right now, even though Kingda Ka like Top Thrill Dragster costs a lot of money to operate.
with Kingda Ka they should use just 1 station but make 2 or 3 train types forward train Reverse train . and a train where passengers face each other
Would be awesome!
Now that Sixflags and cedar fair merged I think the might redo ka. A spike won’t be added tho seeing the flash is opening at GA.
I hope The Incredible Hulk Coaster clone called Tiger will be fit in Kingda Ka's spot. The train launches from 0 to 40 mph (0 to 64 km/h) in 2 seconds at an upward angle in a tunnel with special effects and lighting. The train then enters a zero-g roll and plunges down a 105-foot (32 m) drop, reaching its top speed of 67 mph (108 km/h), and then enters a cobra roll, followed by a vertical loop. The train then enters a small cave. Once exiting the cave, the train enters a corkscrew and another vertical loop before entering the mid-course brake run descending another hill into another corkscrew and a turn-around. The train then tilts sideways as the train enters a helix, which ends at the coaster's final brake run. The tracks will be orange and black while the supports are white. The station music will be Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses and the station will be Tiger den. The queue line will be the jungle. The 3 trains with 8 cars per train will be orange, seats will be black and over the shoulder restraints will be light orange. The seats in the cars are slightly higher than usual, meaning the riders legs are left dangling, meaning riders must be cautious not to loose their shoes. The cars are also designed with seats that lean back slightly more compared to other B&M sit-down designs.
Cedar point in 2040: OMG!!! Six flags added the same launch system to kingda ka!!! But we are better, let's make our coaster taller and faster!
Six flags: Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V. We're done
Cedar point: damnit
Earlier today I found out that Intamin makes transportation systems. Did you know that.
This update sounds just like top thrill 2
5:10 ive never seen a nighttime pov of ka but holy crap thats terrefying
So so so CLOSE to 30k subscribers man. Congrats to you on this feat. You are doing something right, not easy to hit 30k, 50k, and then of course 100k. There is a reason they offer a nice shiny plaque for 100k then other types of accomplishment items at 1 million, so on and so forth. One step at a time 30k first then 50k, also I know that you will get to 100k hopefully sooner than later.
Thank you so much! I really apprecaite that! Means the world to me! I love doing this!
Would have to wait for the CEO to go before they spend anything on Ka.
personally it would be a worse coaster for me, these hydraulic launches are something else, and they don’t make them anymore. nothing will ever be able to come to close to that feeling so this is smth i don’t want to happen for as long as possible, even with the down time
There is nothing next to kinda ka because they got rid of rollling thunder 😢to make a dumb line for the drop tower
I think it would be an amazing Idea to a great ride.
Thank you!
Just demolish it and get a Skyline Psghetti bowl! That does seem to be the new Batman The Ride and S&S 4D Freespin
Lol
Here’s what I say. I don’t think it’s gonna happen, but you do have a fair argument
Thank you! I try!
Rip ka❤
Do what they did to top thrill dragster at cedar point except make the vertical of 500 ft
I think also regarding the 50TH anniversary, EL TORO was already planned to get a retrack. With the amount of retracking appearing to be happening. If you look at Colossus, it took nearly 3 years. I think six flags chose to continue running El Toro while waiting for the track to be manufactured.
We shall see! I can see that!!
I absolutely love that spike idea! I think the LSM launch would be better, so they can get away from the hydrolic launch issues.
Yeah it would be awesome. Thank you for watching!
I don't want kingda ka be removed! Just like el Toro!😭
Six Flags is not gonna get rid of Kingda Ka's hydraulic launch. Six Flags does a great job at maintaining it and seems to make enough money to keep it operating in its current form.
Sucks all these parks has to do is wait and make theirs similar
Thing about these coasters having extended layouts is the real estate it would take up to factor in the speed for the enormous pull outs to keep g's down
True and Great Adventure has the real estate - a ton more than CP :)
Great idea Brandon it would be good to see this change, sadly won’t happen, definitely like your mindset and thoughts for this concept. Great video overall😁
Thank you 🙏🏻
Kingda ka hasn't had as many problems as top thrill dragster unless cedar point steals the height or the north American speed record six flags wouldn't spend the money
It would be a plot twist for Selim's big plans. No one will hate him, but some people might feel played
Very true
Nice video! Would love to see this concept come to reality. Maybe Six Flags is about to pop this video into a YT video downloader so they can keep it for future reference. 😉
A switch track is essential to the swing launch concept, that was already obvious. Not sure how the existing track switch on Ka really helps much. I also think the launch track would be shortened on a swing launch so really the layout would be different, it wouldn't make it all the way back to the station. It would also make Zum even freakier than Ka running now. But somehow I don't think SF spends as much on it as CP was on Dragster.
The hydraulic launches have been quickly showing their age!
I totally agree! Which coaster is next?
They need to be preserved!
Why in the world would they add a spike, they already can't run zumanjaro at the same time as ka, it would make the waits longer for both.
I agree, I feel like Cedar Point would’ve started construction/removal this year if they were just doing a track replacement. I think it’s gonna be a new layout of some kind.
What?
Agreed 🎢🎢🎢
This is a CRAZY idea but this is definitely a dream scenario I hope that this happens though!
Yeah totally! Maybe one day LOL
I predict New Jersey is going to mandate kingDa Ka to become a Zamperla Strata coaster with an almost identical layout to reimagined top thrill dragster.
could be! It's fun to think about! Thank you for always watching! means the world to me :)
I think a re-imagined Kingda Ka could be even longer than the re-imagined Top Thrill Dragster.
@@MrSRArter with 900 feet vertical spike.
I for see Cedar Fair giving Xcelerator at Knotts the same/similar refurbishment/upgrade as Dragster, If the Dragster remodel goes according to plan. It too is an iconic coaster within its own park, with the same similar headaches as dragster
I agree 100%
I think Great Adventure might one day consider doing whatever Cedar Point is doing to Top Thrill Dragster to Kingda Ka so that whatever happened to Top Thrill Dragster doesn't happen on Kingda Ka also. I don't think they'll do it right away though as they want to see how much longer Kingda Ka can operate as it is right now before they can make any more moves.
When I was on it, I was worried about the speed
The only drawback I could see with this, is that it’ll most definitely have over the shoulder restraints because of the New Jersey laws, but other than that, something like this could work.
Kingda ka already has OTS restraints... That's always been a positive thing about TTD, they use only lap bars.
If this is a reference to my Problematic Coasters video on Kingda Ka, I've been meaning to make an update to state that what I said about that NJ state law is not true. Ka has OTSRs because that was Intamin's design language at that time period.
@@ElToroRyan Thank you for saying this. I have been saying for years that KK having OTSR had nothing to do with NJ. Intamin switched to OTSR cause at the time their T bar design had very strict limits on body types. Its the same reason why Rita Queen of Speed and Storm Runner also have OTSR.
As far as replacing the Launch goes, I don't see them changing it anytime soon. Kingda Ka is nowhere near as unreliable as TTD was. Most of the day to day hiccups that happen are more to do with finicky sensors and guests getting caught with loose articles forcing an E Stop which requires a Supervisor key to reset from.
I love this ride but they should add more to this ride because it’s just a big drop
RIP 😭😭😭🎢🎢🎢
I really wish that law of roller coasters over 400 feet having over the shoulder restraints changes it’s so stupid
AGREED!
As cool as it would be, I just don’t rly think Six Flags would wanna spend the money on making a ride that’s already so terrifying to just about everyone, even crazier
But it's already one of if not the most popular ride at the park
@@bukemdukem1870 it also has the most downtime though, would they really wanna make an even more unreliable coaster?
@@thebabbynick1543 Totally agree with that it gets the most downtime. But by converting it to lsm's would most likely make it more reliable.
@@bukemdukem1870 oh yeah that's true
I don’t know it’s a cool concept but has six flags great adventure built any coaster using LSM since the chiller?
Even Mr. Spock would say this plan is logical! Great thoughts as usual Brandon! Hope to see you at the Point this season!
Thank you Patrick! 🎢🎢
I think that they are thinking about it but I have a feeling that they’re waiting for TTD to see how the GP responds
Agreed!!! I apprecaite you taking the time to watch!
I went on KingDa Ka for the first time when I was 12 😨😨, and unwillingly too, my cousin forced me lol. I actually legit cried, but I winded up loving afterwards and going on a second time.
i'm thinking they extend the golden kingdom past the kingda ka entrance and down the zumanjaro entrance and add some more famil rides and attractions. This can help zumanjaro get more ridership and extend the land. Along with that connect both plaza de carnival to the golden kingdom so people can jump from kingda ka to el toro quickly.
Instead of going through the station, there should be a switch track that goes to the vertical spike. That would greatly increase capacity
That would be cool!
seems like a bigger pantheon
It’s rare they still use both sides
So Brandon do you think that Knott's is going to redo theirs. Let me know if you find out anything, I know that it's closed because of the construction of Fiesta Village. Thanks
I haven’t heard anything but I think the project has been talked about a little
RMC???
While it would be pretty cool to get an extended layout I just don't see Six Flags wanting to put in more money that just adding LSMs for reliability
Great video
THANK YOU! I apprecaite you taking the time to watch!
In your honest opinion do you believe top thrill dragster is being reimagined by Intamin or Zamperla. What is your best guess. Could it actually be both of them working on it. Or is that unlikely that both of them are working on that project together.
Both
Turn the air time hill in to works larges stall 💪
Concept looks great. The main draw for this and TTD is the launch. It is so fast and forceful. This would take that type of launch away in favor of the swing launch. I understand that TTD may be going to LSM (and this one also eventually) but I just wonder if, while this would certainly draw people, it would lose some luster because of the launch. Just my thoughts. Just waiting for this to launch has SO much anticipation!
Who's here in 2024? New rumors are back.
The merge ☠️💀☠️
Not a shabby idea or that much clickbait 😂, though with its current block zone setup this monster only runs 3 trains I believe.🥃
Yeah they have never run 4? Lol
These coasters with powerful intense launches need to be preserved. I really don't want a vertical spike on either Ka or TTD. There's plenty of swing launches around the country to ride (Impulse coasters, Sky Rocket II, Pantheon, Icebreaker) and personally after having ridden Wicked Twisted and Tigris I think swing launches are kind of overrated. There's less and less hydraulic/one shot powerful launches with Kingda Ka and Storm Runner being pretty much the last two in America. Also, right now I can't afford to travel to other countries to ride Stealth, Formula Rossa, or Do-Dodonpa. While a swing launch may be fun there's plenty of other 'fun' coasters in those parks. The Strata coasters are built for their unique intensity and swing launch would be way less intense than the original Kingda Ka and TTD. Having the tallest coaster is not worth sacrificing a intense launch. Also, the only coaster that can be the best at Great Adventure surpassing El Toro would have to be another Intamin Prefab or RMC of similar size or larger and nothing else. I do believe if LSMs were pushed to their absolute limit (they haven't yet) then they could reach the same launch force as a hydraulic launch. Electromagnets can move trains at 300 mph+ so why can't they be used to launch a coaster with intensity. It probably won't be as reliable as a normal LSM but more reliable than the hydraulic launches. ACE needs to put a landmark on Kingda Ka and Storm Runner and they should've put ones on TTD and Xcelerateor so these unique launches can be preserved. I just think anyone who didn't get to experience the original TTD or a hydraulic launch or any powerful launch close to it, should get to experience something that's as close to it as possible.
It’s hard to argue with everything you said. I agree! I’d love it if they would just keep it the way it is! Thank you for watching!
Powder Keg also has a powerful launch (more powerful than Mr Freeze's), although it isn't very fast.
the world fastes roller coaster go more then 128MPh also there is soon going to open one up with 155+ MPH
i love this ride
Flash is the coaster but it’s not a giga coaster and this ride will be near cyborg
It would be cool for it to be a full coaster and for it to have more elements other than the launch and drop. But I’d also like to be greedy and have them just knock down any of the arenas and build a giga there to add another coaster to the park 😅
Well Great Adventure has been kicked in the (metaphorical) groin two years in a row with El Toro; so whatever they can do to improve that and KK is worth it IMO.
Agreed!
Yea..I would say fix it before a catastrophic failure..that's all they need....
I would do voodoo magic for this to replace Ka.
Interesting 🤔🤔🤔
I don’t think Six Flags will do a vertical spike min or a fan of that
I love the colors of King Da Ka
Me too!
Me three!!!
I love the first Idea.
why would they do that if it’s fine
Bruh kingda ka’s is so fast
Just replace the airtime hill with the worlds tallest loop
That sounds like a really good idea pal
💚I Love Kingda Ka💚
Both rides are amazing
Honesty I don’t want a rollback and I hope I never get one
They will probably just wait for dragster and copy just like they did the last time
Very well could be!
I definitely think Ka is probably going to be modified in some way. Just like El Toro and Dragster, this coaster is too important for Six Flags not to keep running for as long as they can. Otherwise, it’s just a glorified drop tower.
Being one of the flagship parks as well, things can only go up for them regardless of how Six Flags performs, and they have to be smart enough to realize this much.
I hope they spend the money! Lol
I would Love for Six Flags to reimagine Kingda Ka!
