A mi Seat Córdoba SX 1.9 TDI 110 cv le cuesta más llegar a esa velocidad. Tiene 250.000 km y 21 años.

Just bought the 1,0TSi DSG - what an impressive car - quiet, refined, well built. excellent car.
I always made fun of these little 3 cylinders engines. Last weekend I drove for 2 days a polo 1.0 TGI powered by natural gas ( 90hp even less powerful than this... ) God It totally surprised me. Took It to almost 190 km/h (real) lovely engine. Drove it very aggressively and still got 300km out of less than 14€.... Jewel of a car. Wouldn't mind driving one as a daily.
The elder 1.2 TSI with 4 cylinders were a jewel of an engine. The same gas milage, but feels more expensive

I drove one exactly like this one for 2 weeks and 1500km. It really surprised me, it is an excellent highway cruiser, comfortable and quiet even at 160 on the german Autobahn. I measured the fuel consumption just out of interest. It was an unbelievable 4,65l/100km. My Fiesta is more fun and gives far more confidence in corners, but if you want an effortless and comfortable car I think the Polo is the one to beat in this class. Downside of the Polo is very jerky engine reactions in traffic jam, and the gearbox, although easy to operate, feels very notchy. The engine is good but the character at low engine speeds takes some getting used to. Once you’re used to how it responds it is nice to drive around town.
And on top of that: air conditioning on with 18 degrees selected. I love this car!
A nice demonstration without any annoying sales talk. Nice camera views. I would have liked to own this car!
Its until you reach high sustained speeds in even small cars like Polos when you find out that German engineering is a real accolade. I've driven brand new cars form nearly every other manufacturer in this segment, and nothing comes close to the solidity and reassurance of a Polo/Fabia/Ibiza/A1

I have the 7 speed DSG gearbox, and had my Polo at 180 km/h. That actaully went surprisingly easy, don't remember the RPM now but it felt like it had more to go on.
I only had the 95 TSI version, if only I'd have known at the time they did a 7 speed version...! lol

Habe den 2021 Polo mit sogar nur 80 ps. Man kann sich wirklich nicht beschweren. Zieht dafür absolut gut.

Wer sein Motor zu Schrott fährt hat ihn zuwenig gewartet, Ölwechsel usw sollte halt gemacht werden.
@@tiknife8654 ich meinte, dass der 80PS Motor ohne Turbo und ohne Direkteinspritzung ist. Allein deswegen ist er haltbarer. Die Motoren ab 95PS sind aufgeladene Direkteinspritzer.

It doesn't, this is speedo error and/or downhill. With GPS and on a straight road this car does not even reach 190 km/h.

realistically that's only 120 miles which is fast but not super rapid. my old nissan almera used to be able to get 110 mph and that's like 20 years ago

Redline it and then upshift, it has the potential to reach 200 km/h+ speeds. In India, we still have the previous gen Polo on sale with the same powertrain but with a 6 speed TQ. Man that DSG was a gem of a transmission.

Dont under estimate the effect the ac has on the Performance of small engines! They can make your 70 hp engine feel like a 50hp one...

I don’t remember where I saw this info, but a/c requires an average of 5-7, in some cases 10 hp. I have a Hyundai i30, 1.6 130 hp and turning off the climate control is a real sport mode, especially the difference is at low revs
I have a Peugeot 108 82hp , turning off a/c , gives me punch to follow a polo tsi… topspeed 180-185.
@@vxdbxn yeah this is about right. on older cars the AC also could only be on or off. different cooling levels were achieved by cycling it on and off in intervals and by mixing in more warm air which was rather inefficient and really bogged down smaller engines at lower revs. for example, a non turbocharged 1.6 might have around 25hp at 2000rpm, if the AC steals 7hp thats quite a considerably loss of power there.
You have to love that gearbox. Just 5 gears but nicely spread, 100 km/h in second and 150 km/h in third gear. And still low rpm's at autobahn speeds. I'm a fan!!
Great on highways, but not very good on city driving or similar. The gear ratio is too long and turbo is not catching up before 1400rpm. The base model N/A is better with shorter ratios if I would buy a Polo
@@arttulignell800 unblock the filters(cat grp), then remap. You will have power and turbo boost from 1100 rpm. Plus strong power to 6000 rpm.

Not really, the gearbox is so long and the engine needs a certain amount of revs before the turbo spools, so you are constantly hunting for the right gear in city traffic when you want to keep the revs low. fourth often is too long, so you use third, that on the other hand is unnecessary short for when traffic flows again etc. - a shorter spaced six speed box would help wonders for driveability. at least its not as rattly and boomy below 2000rpm as f.e. a ford fiesta.

With that beautiful 3 cylinder thrum making them sound like a small V6.
Kinda agree but it doesn’t sound even close to a v6 and it doesn’t feel like a golf gti. Its nice and energetic but its no hot hatch :)

@@d-24 : nope not true - it's just a face-lift. Body panels, doors, size of the car and engines are the same. The face-lift is limited (as all face-lifts are) to new front & rear lights, bumpers, interior upgrades and new mag wheel designs.

I have a Polo 95HP from 2021 with7 speed DSG gearbox, I am super impressed about this car and engine. 3 cyliders 1,0 l !!! Amazing work from VW, it is also super comfortable. Great little car.
I've also got a Polo 1.0 TSI 95 DSG7 in Carat trim and I quite agree with you! It's really an excellent car, although it does consume a bit too much given the size of the engine, unfortunately. Have you ever tried to push it to top speed? If so, what speed did you reach?

I have the Polo 1.0 TSI here in Brazil, but the engine here has 128PS and 200Nm. Only automatic 6 speeds (not ASG or DSG).

I would've revved the engine higher. My Suzuki Baleno (90 PS) runs 200 km/h in 4th gear @6000 rpm.

You do realize that most cars are capped? Even the sport ones? Max speed doesnt mean anything.

El de 95 cv va de puta madre yo lo tengo y son 119 cv reales, el de 110 no lo probé pero con el de 95 cv si no eres muy exigente cumple 💯.

The highway speed limit is 110 km/hr in most of Australia. I was worried that a Polo would be noisy and buzzy on the highway. But this seemed smooth. I wonder how it would feel on long distance drives compared to a large car?
which limit are you referring to? Speed limit on highway or is it on the Australia variant polo.
@@winstonacousticstudio445 Highway speed limit is mostly 110 km/hr. Some states go up to 130 km/hr.
at 110 there is very minor difference between a polo, a golf or even a passat. i would say the used tires have more of a noise influence than the car itself. surprisingly the bigger cars sometimes are not better or even worse in this regard because they use bigger, noisier ones and the better sound insulation cant make fully up for that.at higher speeds the difference becomes more noticeable with much better wind noise surpression on the bigger cars.

Spritt verbrauch und Öl Temperatur während der Fahrt würde mich interessieren. Zumindest vielleicht nach der Fahrt.

I have never ever in my life seen a manual new car being driven @youtube in Europe. Edit: I am from India and here 95% of cars are still manual, so manual is the normal here.
Some people likes to drive manual. So even tho automatics are really common I like my new car manual. In some years manual cars will be more expensive than automatics I reckon

Either the speedometer is wrong or this car has considerably more than 95 hp. For these speeds you'll need around 125 hp.
I have the same car, i reached around 190-200km/h with 95hp, but after the chiptuning i reach around 220-230 with 140hp :)

Why a Dash displaying 260, if in reality it might read a maximum of 210 with a big downhill?
I think Car manufacturers want save developing cost to put speedometer from weakest to strongest polo. Like 60 hp polo to 200 hp polo, with same speedometer

I did it on a downhill, I saw 225 km/h. P.S. I owned a Polo with the same engine for the last 3.5 years and sold it a couple of days ago. I was very upset to see it go...

@@TheMurad84 Just to say about the handling, the golf is better balanced; the interiors are so much better refined, soundproofed; in the Polo there aren’t a/c fan for the passengers in the back. Just try a Polo to see the differences, I mean: Polo is the best you can get in the category, but Golf is in an higher category.

@@TheMurad84 I think that if your Golf is in overall in good conditions you should keep it. I don’t know where you live, but in Italy, where I live, my TGI Polo 2020 Highline costs 25k € and aside for the natural power injection those money are better spent on a Golf

Downhill my 1200 cc, 4 cylinder, normally aspirated, 90 PS, Suzuki Baleno touches almost 220 km/h.
I drive this car often as a rental car, various examples. It is much quicker than a 100hp Corsa, und without exaggeration feels at least as quick as a 136hp Mini. My belief is that the engine in reality makes 110-120hp.
The Mini engine has a very different character though, it is far more relaxed to drive in town than the relatively peaky characteristic of the Polo engine. Average consumption with the Polo is for me about 4.8l/100km, Mini about 5.9l/100km.
@@CreRay I can agree I drove the new Corsa F with 100hp , it feels like 100hp , but I also drove the brand new polo with 110hp , it feels more like 130/150hp honestly.. I pushed quiet well until 80 mph and from 30mph to 60mph mph even better

I think manual transmission is better. Because the vehicle consumes more fuel in automatic transmission, it does not consume much in manual.

Hier stimmt irgendwas nicht.
Der Polo hat 95 PS und 5 Gänge.
Laut Testberichten ist er deshalb relativ kurz übersetzt und hat bei 130 km/h bereits 3000 U/m.
Bei 2:28 sieht man aber, dass der Polo bei 165 km/h nur etwas über 3000 Umdrehungen hat und bei 201 km/h nur etwas über 4000 U/m.
Und statt 187 km/h fährt er 210 km/h.
Das ist alles sehr merkwürdig.
Entweder ist da ein 6ter Gang im Spiel, der Motor hat mehr PS oder beides. Vielleicht habe ich aber auch keine Ahnung ...
schau bei 4:02 da ist er genau 3000 u/min bei 135 km/h, 210 ist bergab, musst du strecke abschnitt beobachten :)
