Wendy Malick’s delivery of the fake words is gold
She is SOOOOOO good.
She really knows how to emolocate.
@@melodiefrances3898 agreed!!
The writing on this show was sheer genius, it has held up well. The casting was spot on, too.
Thanks to whoever brought back the full episodes.
Unfortunately, these are the syndicated episodes, missing about 5 minutes. Hulu has the full episodes.
@KevinAnderssonW the
Horror ! First I have seen this show - not bad - but that former model needs a better haircut 😉
“To go behind the back of a superior….or a lion” 😂😂
That turn at 11:33.
That shot with Emerson and Nina touching fingers with the shocked/disgusted woman in the background was brilliant.
Shades of Faulty Towers/Python. Cleese commented that while people doing whacky things is one thing, it's quite another, funnier thing to have a sane person reacting.
I still love the joke about Death calling instead of Beth!
@Baba Ganush
There's a Jean Smart / Nancy McKeon sitcom that took this whole " bad assistant " bit to another level. Look for the sitcom Style And Substance, it's a sort of parody of Martha Stewart. Ms Smart has an assistant who takes being inept a bit further than this character does.
Me too. This episode is full of quotable gold.
"Uh-huh!"
This joke was a great example of mastery delivery. The joke itself is not just funny but Cheri’s delivery carried the joke to a new level.
For a second I thought she was quoting Emily Dickenson, though of course it's " I could not stop for death."
This is a good show. Underrated. Wish this was on netflix
Its on Roku
It’s on Hulu
The Complete Series DVD is out for sale, too.

R.I.P George Segal
I didn’t know he died
@@bokani79 Same here :(
I just watched David Spade's clip about it
The dead-on lampooning of the self-important faux-intellectual NPR host was so funny!
Yes and I loved how they never addressed the fake words and just "moved on" LOL
I love this one! Nina with her (made up) word of the day calender. She thought she was so smart.
she was a quick learner, if only they had been real words.
@@whatshisname3304 😂
I thought it was hilarious. I love everyone reaction to those made up words.
The cool thing is she remembers every word and part of speech. TBF, people that only have exposure to these sorts of words out of context in a word calendar, or god forbid thesaurus (which is not a tool for the faint of heart) sound exactly like this. Place I used to work at had all these signs with "utilize" instead of "use." (Please utilize the doors on the right hand side.) Utilize is a specific word with specific shade/tone/context uses, but use is almost always correct and actually preferred. You do not sound smarter by shoehorning in a "utilize."
is that like a colander? that you use in the day to filter water or food
Thanks. Now I remember why I loved this show.
Oh yeah death stopped by to say hello! I am so gonna use that!!
This show and Yes Dear never got the recognition deserved. They were both very clever and funny. Great writing on both.
Also Still Standing and The New Adventures of Old Christine. 😊
Just Shoot Me and News Radio were 2 of my favourites. Both so original with great writing. I wonder where the great writers went?
Those, and "3rd Rock From The Sun" for me
I liked those two and Spin City as well.
WKRP and Spin City are both funny as well. 😂🤣
@@mollysilverman6803 You can catch Spin City on Pluto TV.

I love obscure words. Awhile back I remembered hearing the word "perpippity" and started to look it up until it occurred to me where I'd heard it.
When I watch these episodes it feels like the first time. They are that good.
"I know a guy." Funny episode, one of the best. Excellent performances all around.
Joel McDonald has a firm...
Love this episode! Persifunctant , lol!
Thank you, i forgot how brilliant this show was..!
If tv still had funny shows like this I would have maybe have cable again.
I hear ya! I got rid of cable TV about a year ago and haven't looked back since. Although I'm on a big hill so I purchased a couple of TV antennas (UHV & VHF) and went old school. They actually work really well. About 125 channels, but only 16 to 20 that are decent. And that includes all the major network stuff.
If you live in a big city or live on a hill, chances are very good you can get a lot of free television channels with a little cheap antenna along with the decent amplifier. :)
This is so much funnier than Friends.
Mama's Family is Funnier than Friends
Most 90's sitcoms with funnier than capital Friends
Aren't you being just a tad persafunctant? Lol
Cheri Oteri is great. Loved her pharmaceutically impaired character on SNL.
“Apparently getting the vote hasn’t taught you manners”! Imagine that line being written today😂😂😂
I miss the 90s.
Armies of irate blue-haired bra-burners with flame-torches (lit from said bras) and pitchforks at NBC's door
Stfu 😂
It would still be written today you pearl clutching man child.

The. made up words were brilliant in this episode. Great script and well acted all around.
Wendie Malick is such an underrated hottie.
This show was bashingrating streakining. I really liked the anoctiular way the actors cenergenated with each other
I see what you did there 😂😂
That makes 2 of us!
I used “bitzlecocker” around a co worker the other day he looked at me like I was insane

I forgot how much I loved this show
Same lol It’s definitely a goodie
Care to guess why I'm so happy
By the Aztec Calendar, your still 16
LMAO
I forgot all about this show, it was great to catch an episode.
You flammer me!!! LOL!
I miss this show, always made me smile and still find myself quoting it even now, went seeking this because of Nina’s made up words and remembered how great Cindy was. Sitcoms were so often made as busy family units and their home/school lives, and I always loved the fashion magazine twist that this provided. JSM will always be a classic show for me and nothings gonna change my mind on that 💜
It has made my Top 10 of all time.
I used to love this show when I was a kid
Cool show, I'm 62 and I can't remember what year this was on but I liked it back then, thank you for bringing back memory from my younger days, omg I sound like an old senile man, 🤔 what was it saying
"Gray Matters" with Emerson Gray; brilliant! Your one-stop shop on the radio dial for politics and pop culture. Wish Larry Miller's great character here had a recurring role in this series.
That was a missed opportunity. Not sure they did too many side recurrings, but they should've made an exception, he was at the top of his game.
This was one of the best episodes of the series.
I absolutely agree. Cheri Oteri was hilarious in this one!
This and Lemon Wacky Hello 😅
The NPR guy is doing Shatner, haha!
This was one of the best sitcom episodes made, its a classic!
Man Laura Sangiacomo was absolutely ravishing here!
Rip George Segal
The actress who played maya hotness was totally underrated
Yes, very much so. Her name is Laura San Giacomo. Now you can google it. You’re welcome.
good body, but that face....
She played Julia Roberts roommate Kit in Pretty Woman.
"Fifty bucks Grandpa for 75 the wife can watch."
Yes Laura San Giacomo is super hot.🔥😍
Love David spade great show
YESSSSS! thank you for uploading :) I just saw this episode last night in syndication....Larrry Miller's guest-spot performance is BRILLIANT!
"You embarrass me" "We try" hahaha
Such a good underrated show n casting crew was great..
Why do you think it’s underrated? Maybe it’s you thinking that way.
Needs to come back. Was funny then, still funny now
I totally agree. I enjoyed rewatching this episode. It's aging well.
I remember watching this when I was young before school and thinking it was really funny, but nobody in my whole life knew about it. And it's stood teh test of time too, proving it was some very good comedy writing. I also really liked the King of Queens back in teh day. Another one that nobody I know has ever heard of (i'm from the UK)
Bitzelcocker is Gold!!!
this is a sitcom that people under 20 may not know..
This episode was produced in 1997. I had to watch the end credits to find out. It should be in the description.
This was the funniest show back then on the same level as Seinfeld
Not even on par with Seinfeld
@@Mr57ride well true no other sitcoms were on Seinfeld level but it was on the next level funnier than any other sitcoms back then
I liked Seinfeld, but I liked this way better
My second favourite episode after the on where Maya gets involved with the Woody Allen impersonator. Cheri Oteri is absolutely hysterical and steals every scene she is in. She runs comedic circles around everyone else. I believe she returned for another episode but I cannot recall which one or what season.
"Uppy-downy" :-)
Cindy and Donnie should have got together. Although he was a real creep, while she just an innocent airhead.
@@SeekerNJWC Why can't I get 'The Lone Ranger' theme out of my head?
I still slip "emolicate" into conversations every now and then, just to see who is paying attention.
Cheri oteri is a very very funny lady.
That interview 🤣🤣
Ohhh the word of the day calendar episode!!! This is prob the only episode I remember because I loved this gag
Oh Cheri Oteri!

This was a Really Good Show!! A Lot of Funny Actors. David Spade has always been 2 Funny.

Thanks for sharing this. I almost forgot how much I loved it
So so funny! Stangle.. that’s a good one!
.... a stanky dangle LOL
Larry Miller, fantastic
Love love this show. Last season was disappointing only because they brought on Vicky go did NOT know how to walk- she had to stop away all the time. This show was great. They could’ve picked up at any time and rebooted. Sad jack gallo is gone now. What a great cast. All of them.
I am in love with the show coz of wendy Malik(Victoria Chase)
Another funny funny show😅. Thankyou ❤
And I'm 41 hours early which means I will definitely miss this lol
Luv the song at the end credits
Man, the made up words are great. Very similar to Bill McNeil's (phil hartman) creative forms of "adequate" on "News Radio".
Maybe the funniest episode of the series.
I love George Segal, pretty sure I dated his illegitimate son! They had same mannerisms, voice inflection 😍
I'm so glad she wasn't a mainstay. Can't believe they brought her back for one episode in S4.
you flammer me 😂😂😂
when tv was great. Now its all crap.
Thank-you 💕
Funny show. Thanks for uploading.
Yes, it can be said that this show certainly had a driving stangle to succeed.
Love it 😀
My favorite scene in the serie was when Maya went phosphorescent after going in the sewer from some investigation
Pretty maya
Hilarious 😂

Apparently getting to vote hasn't taught you manners.

Pretty sure Cindy is Gail Hailstorm, the reporter from Scary Movie 1.
Absolutely, thats Cheri Oteri, SNL Alum...
Is she the one who did the 'Office Flirt' sketch on SNL with John Goodman????
Yeah it is , Gail swallows lol

Dammit I missed it hahahaha
I was disappointed that Nina didn't define what all her "Words of day" meant.
OMG my sister and I used to sneak and watch this show late at night when my parents went to bed I guess growing up in. A JW household would do that to you❤
Maya the straight-man/lady with all these funny characters--Nina/Wendy Malik was simply the best--so funny
Funny
