    To increase the life of the rubber neck I would suggest brushing talcum power on it, perhaps once a year. Talc improves the mechanical properties of rubber compounds. It reduces gas permeability and electrical conductivity, increases resistance to UV radiation and provides good compression resistance.

    I wasn't a rich kid and I had the AT-AT Walker, The Millenium Falcon,snow speeder,Darth Vader's star destroyer with meditation chamber, Darth Vader's tie fighter, Land speeder, Tauntaun, Wampa and boatloads of action figures. I remember I wanted a millenium falcon sooo bad that i made one out of cardboard until that following christmas when I got the real thing. I just recently purchased a AT-AT walker and a X-Wing fighter. They both are so cool and so detailed I gotta collect them all.

    Just picked this up a couple of weeks ago, too. LOVE IT!!! You forgot to show the trap door on the bottom and the retracting rope for pulling a figure up to the belly of this beast. It's a separate feature from the ones that pull down on the sides. You push a button and your Luke figure gets pulled right up.

    • @equesfuscus

      I knew about the trap door, but didn't know there was a separate rope for the trap door. Thanks. I'll go check mine.

    I remember the best version of an AT-AT you could get after the film came out was a lame cardboard cut out background with an elevator that would slide up in to the belly of the AT-AT (Which was very small). In other words things have come a long way since then. Very awesome all around

    you missed one of the other great features, you mentioned Luke climbing up, there is another pull down rope in the middle, belly area that pulls down, clips on to the figure, and press a button in the loading bay and it brings him up automatically:-)

    Snow Troopers on Speeder Bikes, that's something that was done in Super Empire Strikes Back on the Super Nintendo.
    You actually have to shoot them down when you pilot the Rebel Snow Speeder in the 3D Hoth level.
    I wonder how AT-AT Walkers fit on Star Destroyers (I imagine that's where they're docked when they're not being used in battle).

    Just bought one mint from ebay. Always wanted an AT-AT as a kid. Worth every penny.

  • @equesfuscus
    @equesfuscus 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Bought mine in the stores at the time. Got it on sale. It's a monster. It has enough seats and stations to fit 6 figures in the cockpit alone, though it'd be a tad cramped. It has enough footpegs on the fold-out doors to place close to 20 figures on those ramps alone. Enough ropes for I think 5 figures to be descending or ascending. It would very interesting to see how many figures could go in it. I imagine the optimal loadout is a combination of AT-AT drivers as crew, snowtroopers, and I suppose General Veers if one insists. The electronics and the joystick mechanism take up the first segment of the vehicle; otherwise, it could carry even more. At the time, I rebuked myself for buying such a big toy, but I'm glad I did. We won't see its like again.

    God I wish I was I kid again, I always love to play with my little bro with other vehicles and make up stories and battles, and Always making the AT-AT my winning vehicle most the time, too bad I lost parts of the AT-AT and grew up to throw it away

  • @Mahzian
    @Mahzian 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey @Mandalorian30 (pixel dan) you might have noticed this already but on the underside of the AT-AT is a hatch that you can open to re-create Luke cutting it open and throwing a thermal detonator in, there is also a motorised winch that you can attach to his arm to re-create his accent!

    I love the big action figures and vehicles. I really hate that they went to the smaller, and now tiny, sizes. I understand it's all about the holy dollar and profit margins and such but still..
    I guess it's all in what you grew up with and i grew up before the age of the "action figure", the G.I. Joe's I grew up with were still called dolls if I remember correctly. Anyway they were the big ones before they discontinued the line for the first time due to the Vietnam war, something I was only vaguely aware of anyway. I really wish I could go back and save all of them I had at one time or another as so many of them died courageous deaths on the battlefields of my neighborhood. A favorite was them sliding down a wire on fire after their positions were hit. But there were many other creative deaths as well, all of us were so very hard on our toys it's amazing any survived past childhood. If I could have only 10% back though I would be rich.
    I will say kids today have amazing toys, the best we had were the G.I. Joe's, Lincoln logs, erector sets, and chemical kits that had deadly chemicals that have log ago be banned from sale- almost like that comedy skit where the toy maker was offering a bag of shattered glass. Now though they have increadible toys that could spark lifelong imaginations but sadly many just choose to stay inside and play video games which require no imagination at all-with the world suffering the consequences of that really, it is very sad.

    @NERFHERDER76 I just started thinking they were kept in something like capsules which launch from the Destroyers themselves (like the Probe Droids).
    Then again, how would you get them back to the Destroyer, is there like a carrier ship or something?
    I don't even have any walkers (AT-TEs or AT-RTs used by the Clone Troopers or even the AT-ATs or AT-STs used by the Empire). The only (Star Wars) vehicles I have are some Micro Machines & even the little ships that came with the Galactic Battles
