It was extremely well known in town (obviously) and it’s a “big little town”, even though I think she’s insanely self centered (never once thought of the repercussions on the innocent couple or her family) and what she did is heinous, but bullying her in public (especially if her children are with her) is immature… if it stopped there. But she doubled down, played victim that the Martinez’s were making her look bad, trying to “really take her kid’s mommy away by pressing charges” and tried to get people to go against THEM. Talk about delusional and a crappy human. She couldn’t just take onus, say she messed up and apologize, she continually played victim. There was a police call to one of the restaurant brewery's in town (she/her husband called) because they "had to leave due to harassment", a report was taken, she also posted on her FB how she has to "watch her back". Who knows how true her personal FB reports of harassment were, she's not very trustworthy but people were calling her out, but she needed to stop talking about it on social media. Prosecutors were NEVER going to charge a random couple with attempted kidnapping because “Katie *thought* they were *possibly* speaking about *maybe* taking her kids?” 😳 It was purely hypothetical, as the supposed couple never spoke to Katie or touched her/her children…even if her story had been true.

After learning that the footage revealed that they were NOT following her, she should’ve just admitted that she panicked, and that didn’t want to pursue it. I raised 4 kids with one being a Highly Stubborn boy on the spectrum, now a less often stubborn 27yo man, still tho.😆 In grade school I was reduced to bawling, thinking I wasn't going to be a good enough mother for him. The school put a lot of pressure on me & him. (He was colossally ridiculous about what he was refusing to do🙄) He has what would be a damn impressive I.Q, close if not genius, if the other traits didn't hinder him. I did turned out to be the right momma after all. I took a new attitude & went to bat hard for him rather than letting the school dictate that he had to conform. The schools wanted to point at the I.Q as why he shouldn't receive his by legal right accaccommodations for his autism but me & him understood that it was actually one more reason he should have. Example, he didn't understand how to show his work in math because his brain didn't use the same procedure for the right answers, he just knew them. He started college this year and we've discussed how he refused to do any paper writing outside of the one time he got petty AF with a teacher😅 (she was petty first so I get it) I do believe he had accepted that he can't do that silliness in college. Finally! All my explaining & work paid off!... JK, not a word I said mattered🤣 He has been a good human 99% of the time, never getting into any other type of trouble or even being difficult outside of that. His testing and diagnosis talk with the professional is how we found out that I'm autistic. testing for girls were unheard of in the 80s dang sure not in our tiny town. It felt like the woman was describing me more than him. I recently got my testing confirmation done at 48yrs old. I might have been occasionally stubborn in school too😂 My oldest daughter tho..., she has a masters and chose a career in working with young children & teens with highly difficult diagnoses and some are rougher than non-verbal autism. It's heart breaking these exist and it's been eye opening how low the pay is for the folks who go into these types of careers compared to the level of college degrees they are expected to have. It was extremely well known in town (obviously) and it’s a “big little town”, even though I think she’s insanely self centered (never once thought of the repercussions on the innocent couple or her family) and what she did is heinous, but bullying her in public (especially if her children are with her) is immature… if it stopped there. But she doubled down, played victim that the Martinez’s were making her look bad, trying to “really take her kid’s mommy away by pressing charges” and tried to get people to go against THEM. Talk about delusional and a crappy human. She couldn’t just take onus, say she messed up and apologize, she continually played victim. There was a police call to one of the restaurant brewery's in town (she/her husband called) because they "had to leave due to harassment", a report was taken, she also posted on her FB how she has to "watch her back". Who knows how true her personal FB reports of harassment were, she's not very trustworthy but people were calling her out, but she needed to stop talking about it on social media. I almost wonder if she enjoyed it, she maybe just wanted attention, positive or negative. They moved out of town pretty soon after. Sorry I don't have better bits.

The couple wasn’t destroyed. There was never any evidence to prove they had any nefarious intent regarding anything. Investigators knew from Day 1 that Katie’s story was fishy.
Prosecutors were NEVER going to charge a random couple with attempted kidnapping because “Katie *thought* they were *possibly* speaking about *maybe* taking her kids?” 😳 It was purely hypothetical, as the supposed couple never spoke to Katie or touched her/her children…even if her story had been true.
The fact that the son stopped crying immediately after the dad held him, makes me slightly worried about what’s going on behind closed doors.

I raised 4 kids with one being a Highly Stubborn boy on the spectrum, now a less often stubborn 27yo man, still tho.😆 In grade school I was reduced to bawling, thinking I wasn't going to be a good enough mother for him. The school put a lot of pressure on me & him. (He was colossally ridiculous about what he was refusing to do🙄) He has what would be a damn impressive I.Q, close if not genius, if the other traits didn't hinder him. I did turned out to be the right momma after all. I took a new attitude & went to bat hard for him rather than letting the school dictate that he had to conform. The schools wanted to point at the I.Q as why he shouldn't receive his by legal right accaccommodations for his autism but me & him understood that it was actually one more reason he should have. Example, he didn't understand how to show his work in math because his brain didn't use the same procedure for the right answers, he just knew them.
He started college this year and we've discussed how he refused to do any paper writing outside of the one time he got petty AF with a teacher😅 (she was petty first so I get it) I do believe he had accepted that he can't do that silliness in college. Finally! All my explaining & work paid off!... JK, not a word I said mattered🤣
He has been a good human 99% of the time, never getting into any other type of trouble or even being difficult outside of that. His testing and diagnosis talk with the professional is how we found out that I'm autistic. testing for girls were unheard of in the 80s dang sure not in our tiny town. It felt like the woman was describing me more than him. I recently got my testing confirmation done at 48yrs old. I might have been occasionally stubborn in school too😂
My oldest daughter tho..., she has a masters and chose a career in working with young children & teens with highly difficult diagnoses and some are rougher than non-verbal autism. It's heart breaking these exist and it's been eye opening how low the pay is for the folks who go into these types of careers compared to the level of college degrees they are expected to have. I'm in awe of those who do these important services. (She may have been switched at birth, not sure how since she was the only baby there but something is off 😆)
