I think 9/10 is a bit too generous. i'd say 7.5/10. I played on heroic. It hits the mark at times of my helmet shaped heart, but the entire mid-section of the story drags on. Too many repetitive moments where you place baby cortana into a kiosk and everything becomes an expositional monologue. There's nothing wrong with cinematics in halo, but the quality of their impactfulness steadily dips from the start to finish. Most of the narrative rides on you getting little tickles of hope that you will find cortana, and frankly overshadows any of my reasons to care about any of the other characters. The wannabe Atriox was completely overdramatic and obnoxious. Bosses are forgettable and undercooked (though blademaster was the most difficult). I feel like i couldn't get through a mission without 39 more monologues and heavy Brute breathing. Atriox himself was a character i was interested in....but they really dropped the ball on that. The cortana arc was interesting for a time but they kind of made that fizzle out too. Glad didn’t see this review before the game, I feel it would had kinda discouraged me since I had very low expectations from last year demo. Game turn out to be one of the best Halo games! For someone who continue to play the original trilogy for over a decade after the last game was released (halo3) it’s saying a lot about Halo infinite
In my opinion 343 will never achieve what Bungie did with Halo. "Best Halo campaign in years" - What...the last Halo game was Guardians if you don't count Halo Wars 2 or Spartan Assault... not much of a game selling quote there.
I feel like I may have some unrealistic expectations set for the storyline and it saddens me. Hopefully it doesn't fall THAT short as these reviews are making it seem😒
Got a ps5 and series x.. Haven't touched ps5 in a while as I beat spiderman earlier this year already. I find my self playing Xbox way more, between flight simulator, FH5 and infinite I just haven't been able to put the controller down. Loved phsychonauts 2 but I beat it fast. This is why multiplayer games add way more longevity to its games.
@@Luke-kj1rj it will likely still be free in gamepass though (although I expect it to be free for anyone). 343 is actually pretty generous compared to other companies (looking at the season pass, and free multiplayer), so not sure why you think otherwise
The biggest thing Infinite has done is bring Halo back properly. I don’t even mind the game not being perfect like the lack of different biomes or lack of some story elements. You just have to think of this as a stepping stone. Halo can pretty much only get better from here. Visually too when maybe the next Halo can be purely optimized for Series X. Can’t wait to play it Wednesday!.
Yeah I think 343 bit off more than they could chew. Fix a tumbling storyline, create and entirely new engine (The Digital Foundry review shows the new engine is naturally not fully up to scratch), change the entire gameplay concept of Halo into open-world. Just too much to tackle. They really should have stuck to the roots and have more resources and time to flesh out the story properly. Then make a true next-gen Halo Infinite for the series consoles and PC with the new, more mature engine.
People knock the Repulsor so much, I'm gonna try to use it as my main over the grapple. Yes more limiting for movement, but so many fun gameplay options.
The first 20 seconds of this video are completely false, written by someone who doesn’t understand the halo universe or how/why cortana and the chief crossed paths and completely misunderstands the dynamic between the master chief and cortana. For those challenging the score, Its a campaign review. The campaign got 9/10. They are reviewing its “parts”. I completely disagree with that approach as the overall game is missing core Halo features, but this is why it got 9/10 here
Well since the multiplayer was launched and provided as a stand-alone free to play game, it is completely valid to review Halo Infinite MP on its own as 343 is providing it as such. If someone is looking for a review of the game that they have to buy, AKA the primary Halo Infinite campaign, then they want a review of that. TBH I haven't played much of the MP so far, all I know is that in the current 'early release' state it is missing SWAT and other stuff but none of that has ANYTHING to do with whether someone buys the campaign, or not. That said if other channels combine the SP and MP into one review that's also totally valid, but even then they likely would review the components individually within the one review since they're fairly independent.
I really wish that they would’ve just delayed it for an additional year Get the story right get the graphics looking fantastic actually add more to the armor instead of recycling armor’s from game two and three and just adding a grappling hook to it I really truly hope that this even though is acceptable it it’s just wasn’t written very well and I mean if you’re a halo fan you’ll like it it’s halo but The fan who’s desperately wanting something you which halo four and five introduced I hope that they redo this whole thing OK this is the armor master chief was supposed to have this is the enemies they were supposed to fight that we just didn’t have time to create nor the money to create

Game turn out to be one of the best Halo games! For someone who continue to play the original trilogy for over a decade after the last game was released (halo3) it’s saying a lot about Halo infinite
Nice ad pretending to be a review.
In my opinion 343 will never achieve what Bungie did with Halo.
"Best Halo campaign in years" - What...the last Halo game was Guardians if you don't count Halo Wars 2 or Spartan Assault... not much of a game selling quote there.
Yeah I caught that to, "Best Halo in years"...it's been 6 years since there was any main line Halo campaign.
Halo: The return of the king. 👑
I’ve played them all since 2001. And this may be an un popular opinion but I enjoyed this halo campaign most!
That is nowhere near unpopular lol
Calls Chief Spartan One Seventeen instead of One One Seven...
Alright imma head out
The return of the KING.
Did you say “Spartan one seventeen?”
You don't need a power armor when you have FAMILY.
The story is gonna be so much fun in coop!
Hope you're not thinking of experiencing it co-op first
@@ZSTE I already know it’s been delayed lol
With how greedy 343 have become wouldnt be surprised if Co op was behind a pay wall upon release
@@Luke-kj1rj it will likely still be free in gamepass though (although I expect it to be free for anyone). 343 is actually pretty generous compared to other companies (looking at the season pass, and free multiplayer), so not sure why you think otherwise
@@Turtelo_ 343 is generous compared to other companies.....did you just say that ? 😂😂
This guy reads the same kind of weird fanfic I do...
This game is a Masterpiece
I'm dying of hype!
8:04 for the score: 9(/10)
Why do the character models for the lost space marines look so bad? Still excited to check this out tomorrow.
Is this going to be on Game Pass?
Yes
Yeah it's on Gamepass.
I really love this game, but can only see other ones playing this game, because I do not own an Xbox, instead of that a PS5. :(
It really bothers me that these "critics" only play for a mere 10h and already feel like they can give it a score and video review.
Today is Halo day.... everyone is posting reviews and comments...is the game even out yet today?
No Wednesday!
Okay... Thanks for the info... well noted 👍🏾
@@Kingstein1 you living under a rock? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You're welcome though! 🤣
Havent played halo in years, am def going back in with infinite🙂
The biggest thing Infinite has done is bring Halo back properly. I don’t even mind the game not being perfect like the lack of different biomes or lack of some story elements. You just have to think of this as a stepping stone. Halo can pretty much only get better from here. Visually too when maybe the next Halo can be purely optimized for Series X. Can’t wait to play it Wednesday!.
Just beat the campaign today but I am far from over playing more of it! 343 did a phenomenal job with it and it was worth the wait
This game is a masterpiece!!!
You haven’t played the campaign tho
I dunno man...I love the grappleshot, but I still use the threat sensor and dropshield loads. It is only the thruster I don't find that much use for.
Can't wait, halo is finally here
People knock the Repulsor so much, I'm gonna try to use it as my main over the grapple. Yes more limiting for movement, but so many fun gameplay options.
its the best halo since reach, having lots of fun with the campaign on pc
The first 20 seconds of this video are completely false, written by someone who doesn’t understand the halo universe or how/why cortana and the chief crossed paths and completely misunderstands the dynamic between the master chief and cortana. Spartans were never required or solely reliant on AIs to function properly
Cortana and the weapon are cheeked up
Anyone else here liked 4 and 5 fully?
4 was brilliant story-wise, mediocre Multiplayer-wise. Opposite with 5.
@@AttakusZakus 4 had good story moments, but the villian was a complete waste

So excited to play this but also so bummed there won’t be co-op at launch :(
Wanted to play it with my brother over the holidays just like old times!
At least you’ll have summer (unless you’re an adult with a job)
Saying “Spartan one seventeen” made me almost stop the video
For those challenging the score, Its a campaign review. The campaign got 9/10. They are reviewing its “parts”. I completely disagree with that approach as the overall game is missing core Halo features, but this is why it got 9/10 here
What core Halo features do you feel are missing?
You haven’t played the game
@@DeviniteHD co-op and Forge?
@@user-fn5xg7qt7u Nor have you. I am not saying the score is right just pointing out what they have done with the reviews
I really wish that they would’ve just delayed it for an additional year
Get the story right get the graphics looking fantastic actually add more to the armor instead of recycling armor’s from game two and three and just adding a grappling hook to it
I really truly hope that this even though is acceptable it it’s just wasn’t written very well and I mean if you’re a halo fan you’ll like it it’s halo but
The fan who’s desperately wanting something you which halo four and five introduced I hope that they redo this whole thing
OK this is the armor master chief was supposed to have
this is the enemies they were supposed to fight that we just didn’t have time to create nor the money to create
They cut 2/3 from the Game on the development
The most superior Halo ever, been a crazy fan since the original xbox ! But Halo Infinite is something else u won’t be disappointed, easily 10 out of 10 !! Go and get the game at it’s full price don’t wait used copies ;) it deserves every penny !
A point was taken off because there are no scarabs. 🤣
10 hours? My man over at IGN said 25 🤨
Will the campaign be Co-op
Nope not until may 2022
The hub missions form Halo 5 were a cool concept just not executed in a great way. It’s great to see the concept of a hub fully implemented into a game
Can't wait to play it.
Yes its sure a HALO game after the 4 and 5 halo games [ what is missing is mysticism and a sense of intensity from the music ] YES IS A VERY GOOD GAME
Is the campaign 60fps on the one X, or is that just the series X?
60 fps on performance mode and runs at 1440p with occasional drops to 1080p with the DRS. One X is still a beast I tell ya
"jackel jackel. Is it a jackel"
How long is the campaign?
Only halo I ever enjoyed was ODST, hoping this will be my jumping off point into loving the series!
First Halo I've been excited for in a long long time
