@ellenfrancis67 You are mistaken. Jesus never broke the law. He broke the Traditions of the pharisees concerning the law. Their traditions were orally transmitted at the time but were written down after the second temple was destroyed in what is called the Mishnah within the Babylonian Talmud. Orthodox Judaism still keep the same traditions to this very day.
Christianity has strayed so far away from anything deemed Jewish for so long that there is confusion on what the jews were actually teaching.
There is not one commandment in the torah for general handwashing which is found in the Mishnah.
Mat 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
Mat 15:3 But he(Yeshua) answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Mar 7:1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
Mar 7:2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
Mar 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
Mar 7:4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
Mar 7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
Mar 7:6 He(Yeshua) answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
The pharisees were in direct violation of Deuteronomy 4:2 and 12:32
Deu_4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Deu_12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
@ellenfrancis67 it is not breaking the sabbath by picking up your belongings and taking them home especially a small mat that can be tucked up under your arm.
The sabbath was to be used with discretion on exertion not rabbinical enactments commanding not to flip on and off a light switch and to put your left shoe on first.

The term Christian was given to followers of Yeshua by the people that were persecuting them. In the beginning it was a
Derogatory name. It was a name to identify those that were to be killed, imprisoned etc. now it is a name used way too lightly.
I am Christian and since a very young age I always said '' Jesus never told us to be Christian. He told us to be a better Jew'' .
Problem is the Jew always rejected non Jews ! So we had to be Christian .

I wish this was longer. Love this. I am a not a Jew, but my heart burns for Israel. I'm not sure what to do with this intense love I have for the Jewish people, but I'm sure Yahweh has a given me this passion for a reason. I pray for Israel regularly and for peace in Jerusalem. God Bless.

Don't stop there. Look for a Messianic Congregation in your area. Gentiles are always welcome to attend a Messianic congregation. Research the belief's of the congregations you're interested in attending. Some of them are two house. Those people believe that Christians have replaced the Jews. Stay away from them.

I just found out today that my Dads side of family is Messianic Jew. I had asked the
Holy Spirit if i was before i asked and then God confirmed it through my Dad and he told me about his great grandparents fled Germany to come to the US. The joy of the Lord is great within me and everything makes sense now. Bless the Lord!

Ehrm... Judaism _is_ by definition messianic. But since these are apparently not Jews but believers in Jesus, they are christians. So the correct name for this organisation should be 'Messianic Christians'.

I was a Christian who met Yeshua by personal revelation. I have prayed for Yisra'el for many years and even been to Yisra'el once. But as I was praying one day Jesus said He is Yeshua. As I studied the word salvation in the Hebrew I discovered He is Yeshua indeed. I switched a Christian Bible to a Messianic Bible and started following Yeshua. I learned the Jewishness of the Gospel from David Stern and am learning the Hebrew letter Tav is a cross. I am becoming Messianic.

I'm sorry to disproof all of your indoctrinated ideas, but messianic 'jews' are not Jews at all but Christians. Why are they Christians? Because they believe in the deity of Jesus. They believe God somehow became a man in the form of Jesus and they believe that God died (that's so sick) for our sins. However, a Jew only believes in _one_ God, which is the God of Avroahoam, Jizchoak and Ja'aqov. You are _not_ a Jew if you are born in Israel or if you speak Hebrew. You are _not_ a Jew if you 'believe'. You are _not_ a Jew if your father is a Jew and you are _not_ even a Jew if your mother is Jewish. You are also _not_ a Jew if you convert to Judaism. The one who is truly Jewish is the one who serves only ONE God and abandons the idolation of Jèsju (or other gods) as their deity. If Christians want to become as the Christians in the first century, then they need to repend, give up Jesus as their lord and do what Jesus did: Loving the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and love their fellow neighbor as themselves. So to all Christians who love Israel: Don't 'become' or 'pretend' to be Jewish, _be_ one. And the _only_ way to do that is to give up the doctrine that Jesus is needed as an atonement for your sins. A human offer or an animal offer is really not needed. The only thing that's needed is a broken heart. Proof? Look at God's word in Jesjajahu 1 verse 11.

When I first saw Messianic Judaism I was like wow now I never seen a form of Christianity like that before
its not christianity. its the true nazarene faith. christianity is Roman.
I started out a Catholic then later became a Protestant Christian and realized they were both in error. Now at age 65 Im headed towards Judaism. I reject Easter and Sunday (1st day) rest and am following Gods true 4th Commandment and laws of 7th day rest and Passover. The truth has made me free, hahlaluya! It's all about pleasing Jesus.

I am an observant jew who became a messianic jew.Sadly was refused my right to have citiezenship in Israel even residency.Even though I come from a background of the shoa,being the only child of nazi death camp survivors.I had lived in Israel for quiet some time studying in Yeshivat before they found out my faith in Yeshua Ha Mashiach !
But though I was refused my rights as a jew in Israel as a diaspora born jew,I feel no bitterness.Though forced exile from my God given homeland country is at times still painful for I feel so homesick for Israel especially for Yerushaliyim where I mostly spent my years living.

Messianic Judaism is the REAL CHRISTIANITY.
Jesus Christ was born and baptised as a Jew.
He taught Judaism, just updated the laws and corrected the ways how man should worship God.
Christianity was supposed to be Judaism but some Jews does not believe the Yeshua is not the messiah.
Also, consider that the first 'Christians' were actually born,raised, practicing and baptised Jews. They were the apostles of Jesus Christ.
St.Paul was a gentile converted by God himself.
Christianity was first considered a sect of Judaism until it was considered a new religion..
Judaism is the TRUE religion, I agree.
But Christianity is the updated version of Judaism and Messianic Judaism is the perfect example for Christianity.

Now I finally understand why messianic jews are culturally different from gentile christians like us, because we have a different background in culture and history. We celebrate our holidays like Labour's Day, New Year's Eve... why shouldn't messianic jews celebrate their own holidays that are on the Old Testament? If all they're history and culture are based on those sacred books? I totally support messianic jews and we can't force them to live as a gentile christian when even their language, clothes, food are totally different from ours. How can we separate jewish religion from jewish culture? They're bond together. If a jew accepts Jesus as their Messiah, should they live as a gentile or simply as a Jesus follower? So I totally understand them and the way they live and we must love and be tolerant towards our brothers in Israel.
