For example: the dude putting the phone through the bottle, the lady peels off the sticker and there is no slit, and the thing about that trick that erks me the most is, he asks the guy to write his name on the sticker and then puts on the bottle, which to most people seems completely irrelevant but if something "supernatural" is going on, i believe that is a key component to performing his "trick". I need a more thorough explanation on that. I won't rule out the possibility it's real until i have a complete thorough answer. So i stand neutral on that one.

Of course I watch magic tricks on TV or via internet but those are either magicians I know, and I've seen them perform the trick on multiple different locations. And then there is the studio audience magic shows, which are kind of iffy. There are normal people there who paid for the ticket, but who knows if those people are reliable, they are looking for cue cards to know when to clap or cheer! If magician can only do the trick when only people that are around are in on it, or they need to rely editing, then it's not a magic trick. It is something that anyone can do. The more skill and cunning involved, the better the trick. Like simple card or coin tricks can look awesome when you realized that the magician had to practice the moves and dexterity for years! Wish I had that kinda discipline.

I used to do magic tricks as a child. I though the golden rule of magic, was to NEVER reveal how tricks are done. I don't understand why magicians keep revealing the secret of tricks. I think it ruins the mystic and violates the GOLDEN RULE.
I have a trick, I take a peice of glass shaped like a gord from veggie tales and a shove a hollow stick through it and add water just over the top of it, now I take some special plant that makes you feel good and I put it in this thing called a bowl and I make the special plant disappear using my lungs.
So when you say you racked your brains you mean you watched secrets of magic revealed or whatever it was called lol. Gotcha
