    And there is no romance.. How refreshing is that!
    I loved the ending, I'm worried about the sequel 😥

    I read Vicious last year and it quickly jumped into one of my favorite books of all time. I love the complexity of both main characters.

    I hated Eli because 1)people who use religion to justify their shitty behaviour gives religion a bad rep,2) he Truly believed he was a hero. Victor did atrocious things but he acknowledged the fact he was a bad person. Eli didn’t.
    Mitch needs more love. Why don’t more people mention him?
    Loved Victors growth especially when he says he needs to protect Mitch and Sydney. Then realised that had a resemblance of caring so he backtracked and was like “I still have use for them”.

    I'm always a little stressed when you read books I really enjoyed, so I'm so glad you liked this one too! Eli definitelly got on my nerves as well, and Mitch is the sweetest character ever! The only thing I wasn't really fan of in this book was the killing of the dog. That.... didn't feel nice to read about.

    • @myme4ever
      @myme4ever 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really? Eli goes on a decade-long killing spree, there's graphic descriptions of innocent EOs getting murdered and the only thing that didn't feel nice for you was the killing of a dog... lol

    • @leedorashinee
      @leedorashinee 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@myme4ever Of course I did not agree with that either and didn't feel nice, but yes, there are people out there such as myself who would rather see a person die first than a dog. Dogs are too good to this world, especially humans. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I also expected something to come from the Angie plot line. I was almost certain she'd become an EO by mistake. I have a complicated relationship with Eli

    Schwab is my favorite author. I've read her other books but I really think her best writing lies here between Victor and Eli. This series is her masterpiece for me.

    I actually REALLY enjoyed Eli. I think it’s bc I’m so intrigued by his hero/villain mentality and his mentality is technically bc of Victor. I ADORE Victor so couldn’t rlly hate Eli

    I actually didn't LOVE this book. I liked it enough, but I gave it like 3-3.5 starts, as far as I remember. Although now that Vengeful came out, I wanna reread Vicious and maybe I'll change my mind, I hope I will!
    Glad you loved it though, Sam. That's great!

    I'm obsesssseeeeddd with this book. I received it yesterday and gosh i'm in love. I finally found ''the book'' it's been ages i havent felt hooked from the first page. And what i adore about it is that there's no romance in it. I'm kinda fed up with romantic books i don't usually enjoy them especially when they're fast paced they all end up having the same path and they're cliché. One book i liked the romance in was the Cruel prince the romantic part was subtle. All in all i'm in love with Vicious. And i'm gonna order the second book after i finish this one

    Yes yes yes!! I knew you would love it!! Omg Sam! I read the book around the time I found your channel and I only could think that you would love it!
    The characters are gold!! I loved how the “nearly death” experiences are connected to the power (Vale, for instance).
    I agree with you on Eli! I cringed now every time I thought he was like good (I used to prefer good guys...until this one). I felt tricked with him.
    I loved the control of the tension (I am fangirling😍).
    It’s so great you have read it!
    Can I recommend you a book? ‘If we were villaiins’ by M. L. Río. I am reading it now, and adult thriller about bright young actors that are very, very dangerous😈.
    Very dark characters (morally grey type) with flashbacks and the use of Shakespeare plays as a narrative tool.
    Somehow, while reading it, I feel that it may be your kind of book.
    Hugs!

    I loved this too for the fact that Victor was morally grey. This is a villain done right-just an antagonist who is the protagonist in his own story. I also really liked the found family aspect, in that it’s such a strange, messed up group that works.

    I'm thinking of picking up The Archived now with the bind up of the duology coming out. Victor and Eli's dynamic reminded me so much of Ronan and Kavinski from The Dream Thieves, am I the only one who saw so many similarities in the story and their interaction? The near death experiences, the love-to-hate relationship, which is not even an accurate description of what they had, the fact that those two share the supernatural ability that is the focus of the plot, they were both students together...

    Honestly, same, I′m worried about the sequel. I can′t imagine what else could she write about (well, now I do after reading snippets, but I had no idea after finishing Vicious) and the two things she can explore in Vengeful (Victor′s ability and the Serena thing) aren′t enough for a whole book... and now I′m even more worried after hearing that her newer stuff is not as good.

    i had to delete my previous comment because i made it before i finished watching this video and didn't see the part yet about vengeful HAHA sorry. but vicious is one of my fave fave fave books. victor and eli have one of my favorite dynamics/relationships of all time.

I dont know how much do you remember, but I feel Vicious takes inspiration in Frankenstein a little bit and there is also the villain x protagonist dynamic going on in a sort of way, we could say, that is A+ and one of my favorites, so...
