I an a beginner, and bought the Suzuki MR 350V "valved" Harp with aluminum comb, which makes it feel heavier than any other Harp). I have other harps, such as the Golden Melody and the Lee Oscar. They are all in the key of C. I did not know anything about a "valved" harp, so I researched it. It has thin plastic looking reeds on the opposite sides of the brass reeds. These plastic valves do not make any sound. But, they do stop loss of air, so they can actually give you additional notes. However, these harps are trickier to play and will not give you Blues notes bending. And, if you blow a little too hard, it is totally blocked any sound. So, what I did was take it apart and simply pulled off the plastic valves (only glued on), and now the MR350V plays and sounds great to me. I love the look and extra weight of this harp. It looks like a professional instrument and not a plastic toy. However, it is pricey, and I can get a Lee Oskar half the price. Plus Lee Oscar sells replacement reeds when you need them. Out of the three harps. The feel, weight, and appearance is the MR350V, and as far as ease of play ability the other two are first. But, they pretty much all sound great. So, don't panic, if you buy a valved Harp and do not like it. Just pull the valves off, and it will still play like any other Harp. Last word about the MR350V. I can slightly taste metal from the aluminum comb. But, this is no problem for me.
I thought this sounds chromatic harmonica. but diatonic. Sounds really mild like chromatic,I bought the same one. May be sound different,I know.But it's Ok. You are so great player. I wish I could play even a bit like you. I'm 62years old Japanese who has just began to play harmonica. I always watch and really enjoying your playing. Thank you.
sadwat sadwat I am your age and, like you, just started on this journey myself. Well this Suzuki is one of the top harmonicas ever made. This expensive beauty is going to be on my wishlist until I decide to upgrade from my Easttop 008k which for a beginner like me is quite okay. Am definitely enjoying the learning curve the craft requires of you 🙂
Dear Filip, AWASOME SONG AND GREAT SOUND IN YOUR SUZUKI PROMASTER, really amazing diatonic harmonica playing, thanks for sharing, my compliments to you again !! Dearest greetings from Chris and Mayka - The Netherlands - Western Europe.
@pistolkatt Tack!
mailvilla thanks for the information on the Suzuki pro valved harmonica I bought a Suzuki promaster valved harmonica in the key of F# and was wondering why some of the keys were stuck
I love 👏 your interpretation, harmonica with what chord, key? please, thanks - I'm a beginner and lost in key stories, and your genre, jazz is my favorite -
Grymt lirat Filip! Allt gott!
Thanks for your posts - that's great playing. Just found you on youtube and checking out all your stuff. I tried jamming over you on this one with my chromatic and had great fun. Where did you find the backing track? (OzHarper)
Fantastic ,you are truly a gifted artist. I have been playing mid level for about 20 years mostly covers with Lee Oscars , after hearing this I realized possibilities are endless, if you would be so kind as to tell me what key that promaster is , and if you had to do any custom work to get that sound ? I noticed you said d minor , is that on the blow or draw ? I've never read music and now that I'm older I have a lot of time, so if you could be so kind as to tell me how I could buy or have someone build me that exact harp I would be ever in your debt . if you like I could give you my email , I know its asking a lot but you hooked me my man , most sincerely , Richie
nice to hear someone play 'Summertime' it in 2nd position instead of 3rd. incredible solo!

@tachikawa016 Thanks my bro!
Truly awesome playing any idea where I can buy that backing track to Summertime? And your "Tabs" for your rendition?
your sound is ever clean,what hardware i need for this?
suena como saxo, trombón y trompeta
Is that the MR-350 valved or non-valved? Sounds wonderful and expressive
Hi Michael! This one is non-valved. G diatonic.
please tell me which model you have in your hands? I loved
@bleczycki Thanks Bart!
I honestly don't know why so many people are under the impression that diatonics are reserved for playing Blues. They can be in Jazz as well.
Yes for sure.
I didn't think you could overblow on a valved harmonica, so do you get that quick Bb in the melody, for example, by blow bending on hole five?
No this non-valved so overblow here!
Hey. My second hole is going off when I draw. It is supposed to be G. What can I do? Tried cleaning the gunk. Didn't help.
Maybe the reed has a fracture or you need to be more precise with the resonance of the oral cavity and position of the tongue.
@Comuna D-minor
@hohner2010 listening to the backing track!
Grymt lirat Filip!
Allt gott!
is promaster mr-350 in key of G
Gilles Laurin
Yes harmonica is labelled in G but played in 3rd position achieving A minor.
Thanks for your posts - that's great playing. Just found you on youtube and checking out all your stuff. I tried jamming over you on this one with my chromatic and had great fun. Where did you find the backing track? (OzHarper)
is this valved or not ? What you prefer most ? The valved one or the regular one for promaster ?
This is non-valved. I like the non-valved Promaster best.
where can i get this playback??? please!
It is aebersold jazz practise CDs
Wow what a sweet tone. In Which key is he playing?
Thanks! The song is in D-minor, I am playing a G diatonic.
Very smooth..what key are you playing in?
D minor!
Hello! what tone of this harmonica?
It is a G diatonic.

richard george The tune is in D minor. The harmonica is a Suzuki ProMaster in G. I Play 2nd position or cross harp. Normal blues style.

Bruno, Filip play in 2nd position on harp G.
Is it Just tuning ?
hi, no equal!
good morning, what key is it?
Dm! G harp
I bought the Suzuki ProMaster biggest mistake I ever made the only thing I like about it is you can bend the number one hole
Aha, then you should complain at the place you bought it.
Jazz solo is something out of a disturbed or influenced mind, jazz simply makes no sense both on paper and to ears... such pathetic type of music
Key C?
Harmonica is in G, tune in D minor.
