- Hello Flosstube! We are two sisters who both love to cross stitch. Subscribe to get our videos in your feed every week.
On our channel, we share Flosstube extras (like this one!), standard Flosstube episodes, and short cross stitch tutorials that we call Flosstube University.
In this video, we share our Nora November plans. We start with a Mirabilia wip parade, share which works in progress we want to finish in November, and Stephanie does a full stash dive into her collection of Nora Corbett and Mirabilia patterns. #noranovember

Allison…. Could you please make a short video showing your stretcher bars for beading? It would help me tremendously and I am sure others out there would be interested, I cannot be the only one ⭐️
Yes please!!!
What a drool worthy video! I just love the fabrics you've both picked for your Miras! And yes, I'm planning on bringing Snow Queen out again this year! She would be so much easier to stitch if it wasn't a giant paper pattern. 😳
Go for it Allison. Lavender and Lace was my first intro to the beautiful ladies.
And just wanted to say this-- after you decided to "cut down" from the frantic (my thought) scramble of keeping up with "flosstube"-- counting stitches, a start every day, months to do special starts, etc....--I've come across three other flosstubers that have decided to still keep up their channel, but have decided to go back to steadfast stitching until completing projects...sometimes having a special month join along....and two of the three said that their idea of "Joy from stitching" was almost destroyed by all of the demands...so they are changing back to their own way of stitching. "Keeping up with the pack" was not for them. Also...they are really speaking out FOR Aida cloth! As they felt pushed to move to linen...and it's not for them.
Anyhow.....both of you...enjoy all of the stitching you do.❤
Thank you for inspiring me to look once again into the only Mirabilia I have ever wanted to stitch. Luck was on my side. I found the pattern/beads/specialty flosses at such a low price! Then I found the PERFECT fabric in stock and at a low price as well.
You bought Bella Mirabella in good faith from someone who (apparently) sold it to you in good faith: you're ethically and morally in the clear here. On top of that, this is an out-of-print pattern, yes? Unless you are directly buying from Nora, she doesn't get a dime from the sale of either OOP or used copies of her designs, no matter how authentic they may be. If you want to stitch it, stitch it! You've done nothing wrong! (For what it's worth, I suspect this might be authentic: those large-scale photocopies alone aren't cheap, which makes me think that any possible bootlegger isn't very good at the whole making-a-profit thing.)
Now, *selling* the pattern if you ascertain that it's fake IS unethical (and illegal!)--but it doesn't sound like you are interested in doing that, so you're fine.
Contact Nora and/or the Wichelt Company and ask some questions! There's no reason to stampede directly to "Burn it!," which, in any case...let's not burn printed paper matter? Even as a symbolic gesture, it risks harking back to moments when people burned other kinds of printed material deemed to be unacceptable, y'know? If you simply don't want the pattern anymore, mark it as a suspected counterfeit (preventing resale!) and give it to someone who can stitch it without any qualms!
🧚♀️🧜🏽♀️ loved this video! Thanks for sharing!!! I’m so excited for Nora November!
I have been enjoying your videos for quite some time but oh my! All your Mirabilia’s! Not sure how you find the time to do so much stitching. Love the Lady of the Flag and can’t wait to see all the beautiful ladies and mermaids all stitched up. Thank you for being yourselves. Love you guys. 🧜♀️🧜♂️
Glad to hear your views on aida. I’m also an aida stitcher.
Lavender & Lace charts are like Mirabilia but less blingy...MADAM! Have you seen some of those charts?! 😂 I stitched Angel of Love and she had over 6,000 stitches for beads and metalics! There were THOUSANDS of beads in her. They are PLENTY blingy. 😆 In all seriousness though, Waiting for Ships was the first Mira I ever stitched and I loved every bit of it. I can't wait to watch your Mira progress! ❤ 🧜♀️
I'm still trying to finish my first Mirabilia (Mediterranean Mermaid) but ran out of two Kreiniks. So now I am waiting for them to come back in stock until I can finish it. My plan has been to stitch one at a time but I might have to start my next one for Nora November (it will be Persephone). 🧜♀
Can you do a video about how to scan things onto markup?
🧜♀️🧚♀️ loved seeing all your Mirabilia patterns!
I finally broke down during your video and bought the Mira I’ve been wanting for a long time. It’s Maidens of the Seasons II. I LOVE the winter one. #enablers 😂🧜♀️
Pottymouth stitcher just showed Celtic Christmas complete on her Flosstube! It counts! Thanks ladies and totally on fire to pull my Nora's out. :)
i should not have watched this video because i went out and bought a couple more mira patterns. never thought i would be a fancy lady stitcher and it'll be a while before i get to one, but the fomo is real. i'm hoping the baker's wife will be my first mira start but who knows now that i have five more coming my way. thanks for the enabling, my bank account says hello :) can't wait to see your progress in november!
I LOVE mirabilias!!i just kitted and started 9 of them-1 each week- so im ready to go for Nora Nov. I think im going to focus on just 1 until it’s done!! Starting all 9 of these was great but i really just want to finish 1 stat! I’m more motivated seeing the lady of the flag just about completed!!woohoo. I think I’ll be doing Mooka!!
🧜🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️ I had to watch this over two evenings, but it was so worth it! I’m so excited to pull out my two Miras in November. I currently have Cathedral Woods Goddess and Mermaid of Atlantis as WIPs. You also inspired me to pull out my (rather small) Mira stash and pick another to start next month. I have it narrowed down to two so far. Now it’s decision time! 😂
I love watching you two! 🧜♀
Hello Girls👋🏻
Thank you for the shoutout😊
I remember moon glow on your channel. For some reason I thought it was finished🤷🏻♀️ Love your fabric choice 😍
I have a Mirabilia Cinderella too.
I want to start her so bad,but trying to pace myself. Its so hard😱
Cathedral Wood Goddess is the only one my daughter wants, so im starting her on her birthday next year.
Winter Queen was my first chart purchased and is one if my faves.
I want to start her on the first day of winter. She is kit(ted) up, so I just need to figure out the fabric.
I just found the (hopefully)perfect fabric for the Christmas Queen. Its an off white with a light gold damask faded print. Keeping my fingers crossed it will look nice🤞🏼🤞🏼
Stephanie, I hope things are improving. 👸🏼🧜♀️
Thanks for sharing. As someone new to the community I’d love to see a video on making cross stitch friends. I’m currently kitting up my first Mirabilia which will be Royal Games I. Definitely don’t think it will be my last! 🧜♀️
🧜♀️🧜🧚♀️ Loved this flosstube! Great content as usual girls!
Loved this so much! Unfortunately….I may have more than Stephanie although quite a few different ones. 😂 My two favorites in my collection right now are the Sun Goddess and Ashley’s Roses. Thanks for the video…need to watch a second time. 🧜♀️🧚♀️
“I don’t even like fairies and mermaids in real life!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Real life. ❤
I don't have any Nora patterns to stitch in November, but I have Mirabilia's Tree of Hope in my wips. I'll make sure to get it out in rotation next month! 🧚♀🧜♀
Cool WIPS, charts, fabrics. I never saw it in kit form ... 🧚♀🧜♀🧜♂🧚
I feel we need to have a Mira start a long or stitch a long as I have a few that is already started.
As always, love your videos, and your Mira wips, stash and finish are amazing.
I am sure you have already been told that Nora and her mother did not get along, but without her mother designing and passing that talent down to Nora, that chart can certainly be started in November.
I can totally understand your feelings about miscarriage as I had some as well.
I just finished emerald mermaid aswell, it was my first mira, I think I’m a bit in love with it!
👑… love the fancy ladies
I’ve got Celtic Christmas, let me know if you here anything and if not I’ll stitch along with you 😊
I LOVE your fabric choice on your our lady in the moonlight....can't remember her name.
🧚♀️thank you for the inspiration!
I've seen the Celtic Christmas done on black fabric and it is stunning! Just a thought...
Love this video! I also have Celtic Christmas and would love to start this with y'all! I don't have many stitching buddies as, while I am not new to cross stitch, I *am* new to the online cross stitch community. Speaking of "Christmas Miras" and Lavender and Lace, I have had "Royal Holiday" for FOREVER. I think I got it when it first came out. I also adore "Santa of the Forest" by L/L. His face is just really serene with all of the animals. I'd love to stitch that one up one day.
I am not a mermaid person, but as a Bronze Age archaeologist, I got all of the supplies for "Mediterranean Mermaid." I actually want to add more amphora on the bottom, maybe create a "sea floor" of sorts, who knows? I did change the fabric to a teal/gold marble by Fabric Flair. we'll see how it goes.
I am so sorry that life has been "lifiing." Whatever you are going through, know that you've got this. You have survived 100% of the "bad days" you've had your entire life. It is going to be ok. 🧜♀
So fun! 🧜🏻♀️
🧚♀️…so much fun!!!!!
Surprised you didnt mention angelastitches, she does so many of these, and so beautifully!
At some point in my life I want to stitch a fancy lady! I am also an aida stitcher. 🧜♀️
Audrey Hepburn in “My Fair Lady” also starred in “Sabrina” with Humphrey Bogart and wears a white ball gown in that movie. The “Sabrina” pattern has always reminded me of Audrey Hepburn for that reason and put this pattern firmly on my “to be stitched” list. I don’t own her yet but I will! There are a couple Mirabilia patterns that I wonder if they were inspired by Hollywood starlets.
I came here to say this. The movie Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn is epic.
🧚
As I watched your portion of the questionable Mirabilia I kept wondering what about it made you suspicious Stephanie? Unless I missed it, I do not think you articulated what exactly gave you pause? Was it the price, the layout, the quality of paper? I am asking because that would be an interesting thing to know when purchasing from the secondary market.
🧚🏻♀️I did “The Snow Queen” for my birthday this year. It was my first Mira and I love it. I chose to put her on a dark blue/violet mottled Lugana. I think most of the called for fabrics in the Mira’s don’t do the patterns justice. Personally I like a background that is going to make the subject pop and or compliment it. So I stay away from choosing colors that are too similar to the dress/wings/tail fin of the Mira.
As for that last possible counterfeit pattern, I have never seen a rip off on a huge sheet of paper like that. It’s always like cheap printer paper. Sometimes the paper is a little better but the size is always printer paper size (A4?) Hope it turns out to be the real deal.
I'd love to join your Fairy Flora SAL! I started her a long time ago and have not completed her but REALLLLLY want to. When do you guys set aside the time for this? LOVED this Flosstube of you guys!!!
I'm pretty sure your Villa Mirabilia is one of the Hobby Lobby kits they had for a short time. I remember them being that size.
🧜♀🧚🧚♂🧚♀LOVE this!! I'm going to try to get more work done on Nightingale this November. I wanted to make it a focus piece for August (my birth month) and the fact that I'm a nurse. Did not get a lot done on her, so this is my chance to catch up... Also want to get May's Emerald Fairy worked on, she's supposed to be a gift for a friend (I started that one in January, 2022).... thanks for sharing!!!
I need cross stitch friends! I also live in OKC!
You guys are expensive! I've had the bug yo do sleeping princess so now I've ordered it. I'm just a beginner and have never done beads. I'm even thinking of joining jingle ball this Friday just to say hello, mind you I'm past old enough to be your Mom! None the less ya'll are so entertaining! Thank you. And, I am very sorry about your dog! I truly understand 😞
May I suggest putting it through the shredder instead of burning? I tried looking up Villa Mirabilia I could only find charts in the envelope. Maybe the envelope was lost and the seller printed out the picture but the chart is still legit?
I have a cross stitch university request to submit!! I'm curious about the different categories of patterns and stitching like Fancy Ladies, Primitives, etc. because I hear people mention these phrases but don't fully understand what they mean 🤓
To add: why holiday cross stitching is so popular - so many The Prairie Schooler Halloween flosstubes lol
❤❤❤
I know I'm a bit late, but I definitely think that Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum patterns should be stitched in Mira May and/or Nora November! And even if I didn't think that, do you think the stitching police will come to your door if you do stitch it? If it makes sense to you, and makes you happy, DO EEEET! Personally, I like Marilyn's charts a bit better than Nora's, the facial details are more to my taste, but that's just me!
I currently have Nora's Enchanted Mermaid (MD84) that I started long ago--maybe 2016 or so. She has about half of her cross stitches in, maybe a little more. I have all the beads and charms to finish her, but it won't be this November. I'm in the middle of trying to finish a christmas stocking this winter, and still have about 40K stitches left to go. Meanwhile, it's going to be hard going back to a paper chart after using patternkeeper on so many of my larger projects now!
I have Renaissance Mermaid…about halfway done. It has a zillion beads so it is slow going. I want Lady of the Flag but it is unavailable. Love that one the most.
Stephanie. I'll stitch Elizabeth and the lavender sky with you, I just need to get the pattern
Thank you for sharing all your beautiful Mirabilias. As far as Villa Mirabilia does not look authentic. My kits purchased many years ago ( I have several) have the actual pattern but no envelope and are folded and a heavy paper. The Cover for Shimmering Mermaid actually has printed on the bottom of the cover the actual contents of the kit.
Stephanie please let me know when you plan to put a few thousand stitches into Fairy Flora and I'll start her at the same time!
👑
Maybe you could reach out to Wichelt and ask them if it was sold as a kit?
🧜♀️ 🧚♀️
Question about 1 over 1 in the middle of a pattern that the rest is 1 over 2…do you do a half stitch or a full cross??
@@RecoveringBookHoarder oooh fibers and floss Canada has a video about this. I’ve never done it. Definitely check her channel out!
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe will do…thanks for the lead!!
Lol, I kinda hope it's fake.😅 i want to see you burn things too. 🧜♀️
❤️🧜♀️🧚
🧚 🧜♀️
I have seen other Flosstubers with the Villa Mirabilia kit. I feel like Lady Lugana is stitching her from a similar kit? It could be legit.
Have you thought about emailing wichelt about that mirabilia? Send them some pictures and ask them.
