Priority Code Point (PCP) is a means of classifying and managing network traffic and of providing quality of service (QoS) in modern Layer 2 Ethernet networks. It uses the 3-bit PCP field in the VLAN header for the purpose of packet classification.

Awesome as always... My comment is nothing about ccna but what resonated is how well you put up the examples and answered the questions lurking in my brain cells about ISP data offerings and charges, though there are more technicalities in QoS but it strike my non IT tech background curiosity which made the information of this video worth enduring. Also while hunting for Job , most are looking for this QoS knowledge. Hands down clear. Now time to rewatch and possibly watch your CCNP version of QoS ...Thank you again sir, you're the best.

as a non-network engineer I propose RFC amendment, the severity levels on PCP and in general syslogs go in opposite directions of each other. wherein syslog severity codes 0 is the most severe level and 7 is debugging severity being the least severe, PCP uses 0 for the least important traffic and 7 for the most important traffic, can we switch one of them around? I'd vote PCP because its a lot more specific of a use case then general logging and everyone is already used to syslog codes being read the way they are and its probably deeply engrained.

Question: When we download a game, let's say from Blizzard that the maximum speed we receive is really, really low compared to our actual bandwidth, so is that about policing and shaping?

Thank you, Jeremy! Sorry ,is it true that CCNA is divided into four parts; CCNA 1, CCNA 2, CCNA 3, CCNA 4?

    • @JeremysITLab

The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum is divided into 4 parts, but the CCNA itself is a single exam.
My course isn't divided into 4 parts, it's just one course.

hi jeremy and realy thx for all your hard and nice job , you make it so easy and attractive for us,
just for PCP(COS) you mention that PCP(CoS)3 is the CRITICLAL APPs in 05:57 , but i found this in the Official Cerrt Guid Vol2
    Page 236 :
    ■ Classify all voice payload traffic that is used for business purposes as IP DSCP EF and
    CoS 5.
    ■ Classify all video conferencing and other interactive video for business purposes as IP
    DSCP AF41 and CoS 4.
    ■ Classify all business-critical data application traffic as IP DSCP AF21 and CoS 2.
    Thank u sir.
Rectif : IEEE P802.1p doc confirm exactly what u said, so please what is the meaning of the: Cert Guid's text.

It's not a CCNA topic, but yes it can be used to verify QoS.
