All I can say those were the great period of Radio Broadcast, and the catchy Jingles. I'm so glad to be born in that era. So you can imagine how sorry I feel for todays generation, with the kind of Radio rubbish they listen to. Even todays Radio presenters cannot hold a candle to the great DJ's, Kenny Everett, Roger Scott, Nicky Horn, Michael Aspel, Mike Smith, Roger Allen etc. Life was so simple and great 70's and 80's. Take me back on a time machine to re-live those magic moments.

It makes you weep when you think about how fab Capital used to be and how it’s now just a name for a national conglomerate and not Londons own dedicated radio station

Everything good is ultimately ruined in the pursuit of profit.

Seeing that pic of Roger Scott & Kenny Everett wearing Capital t-shirts, reminds me of my 'Capital 194' Hoodie sweatshirt. God I loved that thing, wore it to death.

They used a bit of John Wilson's music from Young Frankenstein on one of Ken's jingles - I remembered Marty Feldman as Eye-Gore playing the trumpet!

Wowsers. Came here looking for KE jingles and landed at Richards Shops. Bizzarly, not having heard it since to 70s it still is an earworm for me. Now, where's Hotpoint's Ice Diamond...?

I know they're dated, and nostalgia is strong, but these jingles are crap, even in comparison to the Radio 1 jingles of the time. The DJs are legend.

Totally disagree, but your mileage will vary! Radio 1 jingles have always been awful.

@@thetragicyouth The later Capital jingles were great. This era is pretty poor.
