Is that medically approved that it helps?? As I'm using some elastic armband which covers whole elbow areas and I did not find that this compression helps, but maybe to use only band before elbow (the one from your link) would be better??
AskDoctorJo thank you for the advice.i don't play tennis but i do play the guitar and have been playing for a very long time.all those years of playing really took a toll on my elbow.your tip helped me a lot.
I injured my elbow 4 months ago and had pain every day. I couldn’t even pick up a carton of orange juice without having pain. My doctor told me to check out your You Tube channel and start some strength training. I’ve been doing these exercises faithfully twice a day for the past month. This week was the first time in 4 months that I’ve been pain free! Thank you for all you do Dr. Jo!

I have been suffering for 2 1/2 months now. I am a hairstylist and I’m sure that is preventing me from healing. How often do you recommend doing these warm ups… stretches and exercises? I had the arm band but I just bought the arm bar! I want to get better 😢

sarah did it work? I have been dealing with this pain for 1 year and I have tried everything. I also did these excercises for 2 or 3 weeks and gave up. still hurts
After doing just the first 2 exercises, I got significant pain relief. Will continue. Have had condition 4-5 months. Topical NSAIDs and cold relieved just symptoms somewhat. Acupuncture has been helping better than topicals. Using all these instructions may just lift me over the hurdles. Thanks, Dr. Jo!

I used an eight inch long metal three pound weight bar for the exercises and the wiggles, just what I had onhand, and a solid chunk of pool noodle for the twists.... thanks again, arm is warm and tingling not aching...
Thank you for your videos Dr. Jo!! I fractured my radial head (elbow) a month ago due to a fall. No cast, a sling if I wanted (opted no), ROM, heat/ice were prescribed. I learned that it can take up to 10 -12 weeks for the fx to heal. The tendons/ligaments were also strained. I purchased the SIMIEN ArmBar & braces as a set. What a game changer! Being diligent with the exercises you prescribe for tennis/golfer’s elbow & the use of this tool has made a huge difference. Not a ‘feel good’ session but slowly feeling the progression. Love that you’re a doggie person too!! 🐾
I’ve never had tennis elbow before. I play pickleball and just got it two weeks ago. I tried to play through it. Bad judgment. Can’t pick up a pit or skillet. I’m definitely trying your treatment. Thank you for this video.
Brilliant. The first two exercises seem to really help. Carried this pain through the finals in sports and 4 weeks on it is still painful but just doing those two exercises this afternoon has released some of that pain. This is a good thing as it is my drinking arm, I need it in peak condition ;)
Thank you !! I have had got steroid injection about 6 months ago for the treatment of tennis elbow but pain and discomfort was coming back. With your exercises especially 1,2, I felt an amazing level of comfort within minutes. Thank you thank you thank you....Dr Jo.
Started massaging that same area (strongly) and now a couple minutes later i've got blood flow back and ALOT of relief. I'll be better in a week. Thanks!
Hi Doctor Jo! I’ll start doing this. I have months with this pain. I have a Doctors appointment in 3 days, but this is basically what I have. Thank you so much for you video. Blessings!
I've been trying ice and taking Ibuprofen but after about a month I knew I had to try something different as this wasn't working. I tried these exercises for the first time and after a few minutes I felt relief ! I will keep doing this daily ! Thanks so much !
I recently injured my elbow weightlifting. I was shocked to see how immediate the relief was when I put my elbow band BELOW the elbow joint and noticed the relief from the muscle. Amazing.
Thank you so much I work aerial construction and my four arms are always so soar. I have relief today for the first time in a long while!. Thank you for the video!
Thank you so much, i have been having this excruciating pain on my lower arm and after watching your video i got instant relief. I do not have any of the stuff you use on your video so i used a stretchy scarf to make myself a band, adjusting it so i wont cut off blood supply to my fingers. It worked instantly! If the problem persists i will be ordering your products, many thanks again, sending love from south africa.
Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU Doctor jo for this video! Been subbed to this channel for awhile and I always knew I can count on you to make my pain go away, been having tennis elbow pain on my right arm and I just was doing your warm up, the first stretch for 1 minute 30 and then stretch with fist closed and then followed by massaging the painful area and only been doing it everyday for a week but the pain is almost gone! Thank you!
Ive been fighting this for months literally. It really effects you. I'd agree on doing all 7 throughout the week. One thing you didn't touch on was heat/ ice. I've tried these both and some companies think heat works better. Is there anything that shows heat is better than ice?
I never really comment on these but omg thank you so much. I've had considerable pain in my left elbow and after doing these stretches it's almost 80 percent gone! I've tried everything. Doc was wanting to give me cortisone shot even. Thank you again!
Thank you very much Doctor Jo idk if I slept on it wrong or lifted to heavy of an object last night at work but I just started working for UPS and haven't made it past my 30 day probation period and you saved me from making it worse the first little stretch slightly intensely really helped and its already COMPLETELY gone ! thank you thank you thank you! Now I can sleep well knowing I will be ready to work very well tonight.
When first starting the stretches, ( starting as acute pain for the past 9 months) how often a day should I stretch? And then when do I introduce the strengthening exercises? Thank you so much for this great video.
You're welcome. In general, therapeutic exercises can be done 2-3 times a day, but I would slowly build up to that if you haven't been doing anything yet.
Because I'm asking this because this is my second time again pain is coming.first time this went off in 1month but this time it's nearly 3 months nd aslo I did lift weights while that thing was paining so it became too much....I went to doctor nd I'm using medicines from jan 1st he gave for 1 month but it still didn't went only 7 days left for medicines.im so scared nd I also have to go to gym so I'm not getting any idea on this🥶😥
Thanks Dr joe. I just left a $5 thank you. I think that's a great option TH-cam provides. I would be more than happy to pay $5 for a PT appointment. But, to have one in the comfort of my own home without leaving the house is priceless. I saw a lot of people thanking you, just wanted to make them aware of the option to leave a monetary thank you. And, of course, your exercises have given me great relief. Just somehow developed acute tennis elbow last night while playing hockey. Couldn't even pick up my phone. The stretches and strengthening I did this morning have helped tremendously. I'm going to order one of those exercise tube things you showed. Thanks again!
Thank you Dr Jo! I raked leaves and bagged them for several hours about 6 or 7 weeks ago. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I’ve done the stretches for a few weeks now and I wake up stiff every morning. Right elbow. Thank you! Feeling better now!
Hi Jo! I joke around a say I have a « soap » elbow. Cause I don’t play tennis! I got a epicondylitis from stirring my batches of soap! Haha! Thanks for this video. I am seeing a physio therapist here but your video makes it easier for me to remember what to do! Cheers
Hey Ariane! Ouch! I can imagine soap making would take a toll on your elbow, especially when you make beautiful and detailed ones like you do :-) I hope you heal quickly.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Not sure exactly how your video’s came up but, they’re just what needed!!! I’m a life long drummer and I started getting pain in my right elbow, “Tennis Elbow”!! These exercise/stretches are really helping!!! Not being able to perform/play drums/entertain would absolutely kill me!!! You’re the best!!!!

I've been I jured for 3 months. Icing the I jury and taking nsaids weren't really helping. After doing exercises 1&2 my elbow feels great. Thank you for this video.
Thank you Doctor Jo i think this will help me a lot .As I'm watching your video im following your instruction carefully i dont want to push it too hard .Thank you so much Doctor Jo.Be safe always
Should you wear that elbow support brace while doing the stretches and exercises or does that limit the effect of the stretches and exercises from being as effective?
very helpful information. I’d experienced tennis elbow when I was playing tennis in my 40’s. Had acupuncture, rest for a couple of months, pain gone. Now in my mid 50’s, playing pickleball for last three months. Painful Elbow again. Acupuncture, rest, BFST wrap from Kingbrand, heat treatment. I will try your stretch. Thank you so much.
I have been dealing with tennis elbow for about four months. I was playing a lot of tennis this past summer, and I kept playing even after my arm started hurting. At first it was the lateral tendon, running to the top bone in my elbow. My doctor and PT suggested working with a light weight, placing my arm on a flat surface with my hand hanging off, and raising and lowering the weight. That helped, and that first symptom of tennis elbow improved. However, my next problem was biceps tendinitis -- the ropy tendon that sits right in the crook of my arm. Bending and straightening my elbow would really aggravate that. The recommended treatment was biceps curls. Again, after some PT (on my own, at home), I saw some improvement, and I was thinking about playing tennis last week. Even though I did not play, and I haven't played in over three months, all my symptoms came back with a vengeance over the past few days, and I feel like I'm back at square one. I realize this is such a first world problem, but it's really painful, and has been almost debilitating at times. I'm super frustrated and I'm starting to feel a little hopeless. I'm gonna try your exercises and see where it gets me, so wish me luck!
Actually my doctor showed me this video to follow I have had tennis elbow for months now in both my elbows and the pain is just getting worse I'm going start these tonight hopefully they will help me I also ordered the arm braces as my physio had recommended me wrist braces been wearing them for nearly a month and as not helped at all
Last summer I was diagnosed with Tennis Elbow. (Ironic because I play tennis since I was a kid and never had any elbow issues EVER, but this was during basketball where I pretty much tried to block someone by swatting with my right arm (from right to left motion) and hit his head with my bicep. After about 2 months of 2/week PT treatment I was well on my way to fully recovering. Then I went on a string of trips (air travel) that basically flared up my elbow. 2 months of more PT, I felt I wasn't improving as much and wasn't feeling any improvements after any given session. Grant it I was reduced down to 1/week but was actively trying to supplement with at home stretches/exercises. Now 3 months later, I'm at a loss. Can't go to PT because of the current situation and my elbow almost feels like it's worse than it was when I initially injured it, no matter what I do. And I'm trying to be very cautious of limiting my activity for the past 10 months!I will try these exercises and see!
@@userious2200 Absolutely. My left arm completely healed. My right em took about 8 months to heal and I still get a twinge now and then but nothing to stop me from playing.
@@karricompton I am a decent badminton player. I have tennis elbow. It only hurts when I play. Do you think I will be able to continue playing ? What helped you in your recovery ? Reply plz
@@userious2200 I have no idea since badminton is different and has different movements. You may try using theraband exercises, ice, Advil, and maybe go get a cortisone shot from your orthopaedist. If those don't work, rest it.
Hi Dr Jo - I find these exercises really help - thank you. My question is - I have elbow pain and shoulder pain (in the same arm) from two different injuries - what should I do?
Thank you so much Doc! Your exercises (This and the Golf Elbow ones) have helped me healed from the both issues in both elbows in the same time that I had 😔 I thought they would never heal! Hi Dr. Jo, I must thank you again for helping me to get immediate Pain Relief for my Tennis Elbow. You post the useful video and these all will be helpful across the world
Looking forward to doing some of these exercises! I've been using cold packs, but not really seeing any results. I'm hoping to be able to swing (or even pick up) a hammer again soon.
Two months of various stretching excersizes and I can finally swing a hammer again. It's not 100% by any means, but it's definitely getting better! 👍🏾😁
Thanks again for a great tutorial. I've developed tendinitis in my right elbow as a result of working out (some pulling movements and curls will cause pain). Along with these exercises, should ice or heat be used at all ?
Dr Jo, thank you very much!!! The pain was for weeks, no matter how many times I massaged it it never helped till I watched your video! God bless you, and I hope you get back 10 times all that you give to help people 🙏🏻❤️🌹

I've been using that arm bar thingy for months with no improvement, your stretch killed the pain right away.. You are the best Dr. Jo.. don't know ya, but I love you.. Lol.

The band one I show puts pressure on the tendons a little lower, so there is not pressure right at the joint. It usually helps most people.

You're welcome! 🐾
Ur age?
I’ve never had tennis elbow before. I play pickleball and just got it two weeks ago. I tried to play through it. Bad judgment. Can’t pick up a pit or skillet. I’m definitely trying your treatment. Thank you for this video.
You're welcome.
Brilliant. The first two exercises seem to really help. Carried this pain through the finals in sports and 4 weeks on it is still painful but just doing those two exercises this afternoon has released some of that pain. This is a good thing as it is my drinking arm, I need it in peak condition ;)
Thanks. Glad they are helping. Definitely need to be in peak condition :-)
Thank you !! I have had got steroid injection about 6 months ago for the treatment of tennis elbow but pain and discomfort was coming back. With your exercises especially 1,2, I felt an amazing level of comfort within minutes. Thank you thank you thank you....Dr Jo.
You're welcome.
This really helps thank you so much for the information I’m taking action now
You're welcome. Good luck.
Started massaging that same area (strongly) and now a couple minutes later i've got blood flow back and ALOT of relief. I'll be better in a week. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Hi Doctor Jo! I’ll start doing this. I have months with this pain. I have a Doctors appointment in 3 days, but this is basically what I have. Thank you so much for you video. Blessings!
You're welcome!
How did everything work out
How many times a day should I do this? I have been doing it in the morning only, should I do it at night too?
Thank you so much Doctor Jo. I've suffered so long but after taking your advice, I have instant relief. Thank you and God bless!
You're welcome, and thanks. I'm glad they helped.
I'm in too much pain to do these exercises... what other options are there
I've been trying ice and taking Ibuprofen but after about a month I knew I had to try something different as this wasn't working. I tried these exercises for the first time and after a few minutes I felt relief ! I will keep doing this daily ! Thanks so much !
You're welcome!
OMH I did the first exerciser and I AM LITTERALLY LIKE CURED
same as
@MrXelium Yeah it probably wasn't, but it annoyed me cus I wanted to practice baseball.
Same here. Elbow popped a few times and hurt for a few minutes after the first stretch but much better now
I recently injured my elbow weightlifting. I was shocked to see how immediate the relief was when I put my elbow band BELOW the elbow joint and noticed the relief from the muscle. Amazing.
Thank you so much I work aerial construction and my four arms are always so soar. I have relief today for the first time in a long while!. Thank you for the video!
You're welcome!
You’re welcome. I’m glad they helped!
Thank you!
You're welcome! I'm glad it's helping.
@@AskDoctorJo its not "helping" it basically cured the pain lol thanks again for all you do jo
Arghh overuse during workout 😭
I'm doing this right now,
it's helping!!💪😀
Thanks ever so much 👍❤️
You're welcome!
best video on tennis elbow exercises I have seen for women
Ive been fighting this for months literally. It really effects you. I'd agree on doing all 7 throughout the week. One thing you didn't touch on was heat/ ice. I've tried these both and some companies think heat works better. Is there anything that shows heat is better than ice?
Heat really works for me 😊 try dry heat as in a dry cloth heated by a clothes iron
I never really comment on these but omg thank you so much. I've had considerable pain in my left elbow and after doing these stretches it's almost 80 percent gone! I've tried everything. Doc was wanting to give me cortisone shot even. Thank you again!
You’re welcome!
Thank you for making this:)
You're welcome!
@@AskDoctorJo Yes, thanks from me too! R uk
You're welcome! I'm glad it helped.
0:53 i stopped video here...
Literally first exercise cured me in 10seconds...
Thank you so much siso....

You're welcome, and thanks! I'm glad they have helped.
I have pain since five months I hope your exercises will help me :(
I hope they help too.
Does this exercise cured your elbow pain ?
Thank you Dr Jo! I raked leaves and bagged them for several hours about 6 or 7 weeks ago. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I’ve done the stretches for a few weeks now and I wake up stiff every morning. Right elbow. Thank you! Feeling better now!
You're welcome!

I am tired of this injury. I have been suffering from it for a long time and there is no improvement Please, I want a solution
How long is a long time?
Same, it has been a couple of months for me, and there is no improvement after a bunch of RICE, stretches, etc. Maybe I keep reinjuring it slightly?
If u are working out maybe take some time off, let it rest completely. I think it's better than continuously cancelling its recovery everytime it tries to recuperate
I've been I jured for 3 months. Icing the I jury and taking nsaids weren't really helping. After doing exercises 1&2 my elbow feels great. Thank you for this video.
You're welcome.
I just subscribed and I also bought the worksheet. Next I'll be looking at the Elbow Brace on amazon.
You are a god send. Had terrible elbow pain from weedwacking at work. Almost instant relief. Thank you for this video!

Thank you for this I’ve been searching for info on this after I messed up my butterfly lift
You're welcome. Good luck.
Thank you Doctor Jo i think this will help me a lot .As I'm watching your video im following your instruction carefully i dont want to push it too hard .Thank you so much Doctor Jo.Be safe always
You're welcome.
You're welcome. I hope they help.
Excellent, thank you for making this video and sharing this great information!
Thanks, and you're welcome!
I hope they help.
Actually my doctor showed me this video to follow I have had tennis elbow for months now in both my elbows and the pain is just getting worse I'm going start these tonight hopefully they will help me I also ordered the arm braces as my physio had recommended me wrist braces been wearing them for nearly a month and as not helped at all
I hope they help. Good luck!
update please? thanks.
Thank you so much! I couldn’t even bend my arm until I saw this!
You're welcome!
Very good exercises. Thank you so much. Now I can sleep with no pain. 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤

I am a decent badminton player.

Thank you doc jo. You helped me in healing my left hand pain. Love and respect from India 💜

Great explanation of epicondylitis and demonstration of the treatment. Will be sending my patients to look at this.

Looking forward to doing some of these exercises! I've been using cold packs, but not really seeing any results. I'm hoping to be able to swing (or even pick up) a hammer again soon.
I hope they help.
Two months of various stretching excersizes and I can finally swing a hammer again. It's not 100% by any means, but it's definitely getting better! 👍🏾😁
I’m 5 mins in, and I’m feeling relieved already… thank you, I wasn’t quite sure what it was. From the relief I have, it’s definitely Tennis Elbow.
You're welcome.
Thanks again for a great tutorial. I've developed tendinitis in my right elbow as a result of working out (some pulling movements and curls will cause pain). Along with these exercises, should ice or heat be used at all ?
You're welcome, and thanks.. Yes, I would heat it before the exercises, and ice afterwards. Good luck.

Dr. Jo, can you please tell me how often we should be doing these exercises?
You can do them 2-3 times a day. Good luck.
Wow thanks for the response 🙏🏼 so all exercises/stretches 2-3 times a day until symptoms are better? My symptoms are chronic and I have tried the eccentrics before but I did them every other day (3 sets 15 reps)
