Thangs for the vidio, i saw it before i repaired the pump on my AD31P-A motor, especially the idea of the tool to press the seal on was useful, i made one of nylon.
Volvo writes that the impeller must be 0.8 mm. +/- 0.15 mm. under the packing surface on the house, i have measured that it is the same as the 25/1000 inches you have between the impeller and the house :-)

I am trying to rebuild the pump from a AD31P-A which looks exactly the same as in the video. I can't find a part number for the sealing ring or other parts. Also the rebuild specs / manual? All help appreciated 🙂

      hi ian
the sealing ring for that pump (circulating) part #1676432. the goto for parts or diagrams i use is marine parts express they have the break down on your motor. by the way ad31 and ad41 are the same. the specs on that pump i believe are on the video. the only assembly spec is on the vane and housing.the most important is that installing the ceramic seal the tool i made is the key for install. the seal is easily broken. just one more note this is a circulating pump not a pressure pump therefore clearance vane to body is not that critical close is good enuff. when you press together it is not likely to undo if clearance way too tight. you would have to start over with new seal. good luck hope this helps. aloha

volvo manual calls for the wheel to end up at 0.8 mm (0.0315). the idea is the seal is 2 parts in 1 spring loaded and you want the pressure on ceramic surface for the seal to work properly. no need to measure all the vanes around the circumference because that value may change. you are trying to pressurize the seal. this is not a pressure pump where that would be critical. in short pressing on the wheels i have installed were between .025-.030 with no problems. i have not found volvo giving a plus and minus value for this. hope this helps

It's nice to watch a mechanic at work. I am rebuilding a similar pump. Question, the impeller is just pressed off and back on with no key way ? Just dry?
    Thank you

@@islander228 Thats great & thanks for the reply & help. I have found the drawing of the pump but it is not exactly the same as the pump I have, so the drawing must be a later version. I have pump 860453 (number stamped on casting body) which is exactly the pump in the video. I guessed the part number as you have detailed will fit my pump, so thank you.!!
