Their first cd was called "A Street Car Named Desire"! It was an instant classic!! Angela wrote all the songs and she was truly a great musican! You dont have to Cry and Your Smile are my favorite slow jams from them!
I have that album on Vinyl! It still sounds great!
Actually Rene and Angela had three albums before Street Called Desire: Rene & Angela, Wall to Wall, and Rise. [Streetcar Named Desire is a play by Tennessee Williams] They recorded the first three for Capitol Records and Street Called Desire on Mercury. They shared writing credits for their albums. Before the Street Called Desire album they had a quiet storm hit called My First Love (from Rise) which was covered by Avant and Keke Wyatt. You should definitely check out Angela's solo albums: Sharp (which contains her hit Angel. Listen to that. The whole album is good.), The Real Thing (which contains her cover of I've Learned to Respect the Power of Love, which she wrote for Stephanie Mills. Listen to both versions. So good), and Angela Winbush (which contains Treat U Rite written by Chuckii Booker {check out his song Games}. That album is good and overlooked.) Enjoy. Love your reactions. You make me laugh.
