Terrorscape rocketed into my Top 10 of all time this year! It's gameplay is so easy to learn and get to the table. With games not lasting very long, I usually want to reset and play again! I have over 40 plays and each time has been a blast. I will agree that the Survivor side can feel a bit samey but so far, it hasn't detracted one bit from wanting to play chance I get. The mind games and player interactions are just top notch! The additional killers in the expansions add a huge variety and I highly recommend all of them. It's so fun to talk about the experience afterwards, diving into each sides tactics. 10/10 for me!

Agreed. Alex way over rates Mind MGMT in my opinion.

This is by far my families go to game and we love bringing it out when friends come over as well.

What killer would you advise to use as an introductory killer for beginner survivors?

@@lystic9392 That is harder to answer than you would think. The designers recommend the Butcher, but butcher is very slow and takes a decent amount of strategy for the killer to use effectively, maybe that is the point of them recommending him for first play throughs. Everyone is new so, everyone will be making a lot of mistakes and with the butcher it is harder to punish those mistakes. But I personally would recommend the Ghost, she moves a lot but she is very week at first (the more fear the survivors get the more powerful she is) so with peoples first play through if I use her I make sure they understand to remove their fear as much as possible, which results in a lot of attacks and suspense but with the survivors usually surviving the attacks. If you can get them to understand how important it is to keep your fear down when playing her, the killer and the survivors will have a lot of fun. A little long but I hope that helps 😊

@@Just-Play-Already Thank you! Ghost it is! I was leaning towards the Ghost already since some people thought the Butcher was a little bit boring as a first killer. I can't wait to give it a go.
Thank you for your very detailed answer!

Passed first time as I wasn't sure if it would be good. Now that we know it's good, backing, because I love the theme and gameplay style.

I love Terrorscape and it's been a big hit within my group. I'm excited for the expansion with the storage box that will hopefully clean up all my expansion boxes.

This game is easily my top game of the year.
It’s a tight and fast game that I will play minimum 2-3 times when I pull it out. It’s just good fun.
Set up is 5 minutes (I timed it because I was worried it would be slow). It’s helped by having great player / killer trays.
    My personal score 5/5

Alex, I don’t think the dead by daylight board game has any hidden movement in it? You select movement cards that aren’t known to the other team, but I believe you always know the position of the other team (if I’m remembering it correctly).

Correct, Dead by Daylight is programming game so you dont know where people will be going but the characters are not hidden. However, it is worth noting that this game is very much in the same style as Dead by Daylight. This game and the DbD board game were both on crowdfunding at the same time and I chose this game because it seemed to more closely mimic the experience of DbD the video game. So even if the DbD board game doesn't have hidden movement it is still stylistically, thematically, and to a certain extent mechanically similar in that they are One vs All games that play on the same theme. If I introduce this to friends who have played DbD I will explain the Terrorscape killers in terms of their similarity to DbD killers so there is definitely a connection worth mentioning.

Terrorscape was my favorite game of 2023 and look forward to any and all new content that comes for it. Still would like to see a plastic or wooden mansion to help durability of that piece. As far as the Butcher, he’s not as difficult as people make him out to be. Use his ability to build barricades and block movement to limit where survivors can go. Shrink the map and trap at least one survivor with you and you win

There’s a plastic mansion on Etsy, along with several other upgrades from Adrena Creative. 😁

I think after the first game I'd probably substitute the giant mansion for a pair of DM screens, unless players REALLY want the giant mansion.

Hi, thank you for the video. It's hard not to concede your point about the bulky building. I understand the purpose of it, but it doesn't change the fact that it will have to be assembled and disassembled over and over again.... Although gameplay-wise it looks very good.

Getting over the setup is certainly a factor. But it hasn't bothered me too much that I do get it to the table often enough because people are willing to play it. And that's important enough to me to score this slightly higher. I'm sure the gaming group makes a difference, and mine doesn't lean to heavy 3+ hour euros.

If you don't value Alex as a reliable source of information, then why do you spend time watching his content? Do you value your time that little?
