3 mods to run 10.7x NSX

- So this was a Private Track rental by Science of Speed. They invited a some NSXs to Palm Beach Raceway to see if we can set some records.
2 NSXs went 10.66 and 10.68. My car went 10.72 on the 91 Octane tune.
Future videos will show more on the mods and the JB4 tuning box by Science of Speed. A simple plug and play and a safe way to make a little more power.

10.7 is very good..
26 mpg and it runs 10.70s. If you would've told me this back in the 1980s, I would've had you committed.
A car that can do 10.7 Roling up to the driveway without any sound is just outstanding
Jesus these things are quick. I knew they were amazing driver's cars, but I had no idea they could devour the 1/4 mile like a beast. Amazing.
10.6 is fast. My 98 cobra with vortech and nitrous 75 shot went 10.6 @ 128. That is no joke at all. I won the local mustang shootout but that was 10 years ago. Technology is amazing.

These times are pretty quick I like how NSX tuners are now popping up 2 years after the car was released. And this can only mean the NSX next tuners goals will be 9 seconds 1/4 mile times....

Hi love you car and video, im curious what would this run with the Box and the titanium dual mode exhaust together? Have u ran it with both those mods yet ?
Nice work John. I know you got a 10.5 in ya with better tires and a quicker foot. But 10.7 consistently is amazing.
Average Car Guy I think it will got a little faster with some cooler air, drop the tire pressure etc. I had a little over half a tank when I got there

Robotic Venom Thanks guys. One thing a lot of people don’t realize is this car will do those times back to back. No special prep or tricks. It’s not like a GTR that can only launch a few times before required trans service. It’s pretty amazing
@@LHTPerformance thank you so much for the time you put in to inform us...I think I have talked my wife into letting me get an nsx(base) I noticed yours doesn't have the carbon fiber package or the brake package yet its still an amazing machine. ..my question is once you select map 1...can you just leave it on map 1 or 2 permantly or do you have to set it every time you take it out?.
james patterson Yes. It only adds power under full throttle. It drives exactly the same as stock. Mine been in Map 2 ever since I ran that 10.6.

Not sure if you have RON 100 in States. If you do, try it on your next drag race.
xFWWONGx higher octane fuel won’t make a difference unless you get tuned for it.
I live in the same state and I've seen a few Sunoco gas stations that have a 100 octane pump off in the corner by itself. It's actually been a decade since I went to the nearest Sunoco but I doubt they got rid of that pump. It was quite expensive compared to 93 and would probably be more expensive than E85 today. I guess it could be worth the price to try out unleaded 100 octane.
cambotom : negative. You could feel the difference instantly in acceleration, smoother, and more powerful. Thus you should save more fuel with further distance because you consume less amount of gas to move your vehicle. Even a layman (female driver) would have felt the difference instantly with RON 100 or RON97, 95, 91 or E85. This is proven. It certainly helps to improve overall acceleration. Higher octane improves performance and efficiency.
xFWWONGx smoother and more powerful? Negative.Save more fuel because your engine is consuming less because of the high octane? Negative. Higher octane fuel doesn’t make your engine consume less fuel lol where in the world did you get that. Higher octane gas means it can handle a higher compression before detonating.. hence why higher compression motors require higher octane fuel. Sure maybe switching from 91 to 93 octane may do something but here in California we don’t have 93. Filling up with 100 octane race gas in a car that requires 91+ octane isn’t gonna do anything. And your not saving any money when 91 octane where I live is around $3.50 a gallon and 100 octane fuel is around $9.00 a gallon. If I were to fill up on 100 octane fuel on my Tuned K24 RSX, it’s not gonna do anything. If I go get retuned, then there should be some gains.

Wow very nice times my man! Please do some track time (like turning the wheel) so we can see the car stretch its legs. Banging multiple downshifts for a turn is more exciting! That Mclaren guy has a physical disability that doesn't allow him to turn the wheel more than 10 degrees, its pretty sad.
I hopefully plan on taking it to the road course next month. The last one I had to cancel due to been sick. I have to flush the brake fluid and it will be ready. I hope the car will do well. I will of course make a video. I'm not a big fan of drag racing, but it's cool once in a while.

we cant even buy 91 oct fuel here is the UK, lowest is 95 but we pay so much for fuel its stupid
Methinks you should go E85 if possible.
Unpopular opinion: I really think you should get your NSX wrapped similar to a Michael Shanks NSX racecar. It'd still be orange with a crazy design on it. Add a big LHTPerformance logo on every side of the car. Make it tasteful, pick your favorite race livery, pay a graphics designer to make it your own with your LHTPerformance logo and your contact information. Add logo's of the brands you sell and use, Vibrant, K-tuned, Miller, etc. Pay someone to wrap it. It'd be super duper expensive, but, I think it should be a walking advertisement for your brand.
Kevin S. Well, the Orange is what sold me on this car and I love it. I take great pride in my cars and spent a lot on the color correction and ceramic coating. I don’t have plans putting vinyl wraps on it. Thanks for watching and the comment, but that’s not my style.

According to a post just above from LHTPerformance it ran a 9.90sec.

Northern That right. I’m so used to calling it West Palm as we’ve been going there so long and that what others called it.
the zr1 never ran 10s?
I'm not sure. In the right hands with some prep it may do. The big difference is the NSX does it over and over with no Drama. I made 15 passes while experimenting with different settings. But in track mode, it runs 10.7 back to back.
Why does everyone call it a second gen, it's the third generation NSX. All these people keep killing my google search.
720s prob did 9s but went home broken on a trailer lol

Why 91 and not 93?
Think he's just showing how it would be just with regular fuel. Probably doesn't have a tune for 93 or e85 yet.
