      Exactly. As a teenager in the early 2000s before I even had my own cellphone when sending a text meant repeatedly pressing the number key a certain number of times depending on the letter you want in lowercase or uppercase, one of first things my parents taught me was think carefully before hitting send because as soon as you send something either positive or negative it's out there for the whole world to see, and can't be taken back. My first cellphone when I was 17 was a flip phone which I paid the bill for with my allowance money, and had that for about 5 years until I went to a 2 year technical college, when I got my first smartphone.

    The alleged two, posted the video of the incident enthusiastically, because they wanted to show others what they did, bragging! Sorry the defence attorney did not approve of everyone seeing what the two were very eager to show the world. Rather than drop charges, capital punishment should be revisited. I looked in to it and I found: Nevada is one of 27 states that permit capital punishment.

      The defense attorney should be working on a deal for his clients to keep them off of death row. He had to know that a judge was NOT going to dismiss the case. Having said that, that defense attorney should not be receiving death threats. Even totally depraved defendants like these two are entitled to legal representation by the United States Constitution.

    Las Vegas government is so terrible. I got burglarized on vacation once and the officer accused me of selling a gun and then filing a claim it was stolen. I said sir, I don’t have a firearm and didn’t report one as being stolen but with police like you I imagine I need one.

    When you commit a crime that receives national attention. It's not the Court's fault. And there's no reason to have a change of venue because it's a national incident. You can't hold the court liable for your own actions you have to take responsibility for that..... It's a jury trial of your own peers, so it's your own community they are finding you guilty of these crime's.

      @@spaceracer23 Even if they were to appeal the conviction and it's successful, the prosecution can still retry the case. If this was a smaller case going with no media coverage then the charges could be dropped because prosecution wouldn't have to worry about the political repercussions. If the judge dropped this case then the prosecution and judge would face a LOT of scrutiny which would harm their chances politically.

    Damn, the guy was basically arguing that the crime should be forgiven, because everyone saw it.
    I get that defenders have to do everything in their power to help their client's case, but that can't be it.

      The precedent has now been set that you can punish lawyers for representing their clients if you don’t like their clients, so I don’t see why this is a big deal that he’s being threatened like lawyers in Georgia.

    The two have to have a fair trial. People that try to intimidate anyone just hurts the prosecution. When the case finally goes to trial you don't want any reason for the verdict to be thrown out.

    i find it extremely irritating that trial dates keep getting set farther and farther down the calendar from the time of charging. it's like someone is hoping the matter and the victims will be forgotten and justice will just be a rubber stamp to clear the schedule. then the suspects claim they're being persecuted for sooo long, and everybody should feel sorry for them.

      It's because our court systems are horrifically overburdened with cases. In some jurisdictions, there are not enough judges to hear cases. We are especially short of public defenders, because the pay is terrible and the caseloads are insane and the public doesn't understand the job of a public defender. If we want a functional justice system we will have to pay for it, but Americans are stingy about paying taxes. We want all the goodies but we don't want to pay for them. More people should go to jail! But not on my dime, I don't want to pay for prisons. We need mental institutions! But don't raise my taxes to pay for it. We have Cadillac tastes and VW budgets.

      I think it is because they are trying to stall for time to make a plea deal. I think the best they can hope for is to someday when they are in their 70s to get paroled. I don't even know if the prosecution is allowing for a plea.

      They'll never do that with a pair of high-profile defendants, there's so much liability involved. Once they get to real prison though, it'll be hard for them to avoid running into such people. Then again, they seem to get along with each other rather well, so they may get along jsut fine with other psychopaths in prison.

I watched one force a co"guard" to eat a corner of a desk for pronouncing his name slightly wrong. He was in a good mood before it happened, literally seconds before.       It is not disgusting. Everyone deserves to have someone who understands law to advocate their case. Otherwise people get railroaded into excessive punishments or convictions for crimes they didn't commit. The people who are threatening the lawyer are also committing a crime, I hope they get their punishment too (and when they are charged, will they prove themselves hypocritical and hire a lawyer to defend them? Almost certainly).
