Dear Dr. Alexander Antipov, I am a retired surgeon who now changes oral posture to correct skeletal deviations. We probably agree that this patient's facial retrusion was related to her open mouth problem, although you may not agree that this was the principal cause. In my view this was also the cause of her TMD, but at the end she still keeps her mouth open and I predict there will be considerable relapse. Prof John Mew.
Hi doctor, i have two questions, i would be very grateful if you can answer them. 1- how can we solve that open mouth problem? Is it related with surgery only? I will have this surgery very soon and i am afraid if i get relapse since i have open mouth too. 2- they told me not to have genioplasty with double jaw surgery unless i buy an application to exactly know how much they should slide for genioplasty. Unfortunately i won't be able to afford for the secondary surgery or the application and i will take the risk. But how much risk are we talking about? I don't know the application name but i guess dr Alexander uses and shows it. So i assume they are the same. What do you think about this? How much risk i am taking 😣 I will be looking forward for your reply dr john. Thanks
She has a forward head posture. So if you move the head in its ideal position, her lower jaw would still be pointing downwards, so even post-op her occlusion is tilted downwards instead of the desired 90 degree which you explained..
Hi doctor I’m a great admirer of your work. The reason im sending this message is that, i have an assymetrical face. I would like to know if its curable or not. I have consulted a maxillofacial surgeon in my area. He took xrays n ct scan and studied them, and came with a conclusion that the surgery should be divide into two stages, the first one to align my jaws and to attain a facial profile, Then after it gets healed the second stage of surgery, that is dealing with the assymetry. The second stage will be bone grafting, he said something about implants too. Since I’m not satisfied with his consultation, I would like to get an appointment with you. As im from India how many days will i need to stay for consultation and surgery. And sir, can you please tell a round figure of what the cost is. Thank you.
Hi doctor, i live abroad any i need both double jaw surgery and genioplasty. My doctor suggest me to pay extra for an application to be genioplasty and double jaw surgery at the same time to know exactly how much they should slide for genioplasty or that i shouldn't get genioplasty at the same time with doublr jaw surgery because they can't know exactly and there is risk. I guess you are using that application that has been told me. Due to financial situations i won't be able to afford for the extra amount for application or a second surgery but i am so afraid for the risks. What do you think doctor? Please i would like to know your opinion
i’m getting lower jaw surgery on july 17th and i’m really worried about if it will negatively effect my front profile and if i will gain weight durring recovery
Im having a surgery at some point this year too. I have the same thing as the girl in the thumbnail plus my chin is a bit on one side. Well it cant be that bad just do it. A friend of mine broke his chin after an accident with motorcycle and did a surgery and hes fine no side effects. But ok he was drugged like crazy because it was an accident, he had smashed his face and in the end they put titanium in his jawlines. It makes him look good 😁 he recovered fine, no side effects. Think positive and good luck
@@rousod Not yet I am 15. Are you 15 too? I am a bit conflicted on how I am going to pay for it. Wondering what kind of job I can work that doesn't need talking.
FruitLoop Chocolate Sprinkles no i am 26. And i have this problem since 13... cause of mistake of the dentist. Then i got dissapointed and i gave up the braces but at 22 i put them back to fix what i can. I may do the surgery this autumn.. kinda scared tho
Personally i do not like leforte 3 piece, it is too complex unpredicatble and therefore risky. There is also too much orthodontic preparation required. I think the lips lack support, why couldnt the jaws move further forward? Also the chin tip is too projected imo especially for a female.
I have been having TMJ problem since more than 5 years now I even got a got a surgery done of the left side of my jaw joint but it did not helped me with my problem I too have osteoarthritis and rhumataoid arthritis just came to know about that 6 months back and my jaw joints are grinding against each other it is really hard for me to chew my food I am been a hard occlusion splint since more than 5 to 6 months now but find no difference in my pain I have been to so many maxillofacial surgeons and everyone says that I need to get a joint replacement surgery done I am scared of getting it done because I feel I might not be able to open my mouth after the surgery what should I do please help. What would be the solution for forward head position?
he meant a 90-degree occlusal plane...
Thank you for posting this

Is there a reason orthodontists don't angle the upper incisors outward a bit to give more fullness to the upper lip and a more pleasing appearance?
I luckily got this covered by insurance, but if I didn't the hospital bill would be too much to afford the surgery.
