Disagree. That movie was already in production hell around the time that they started signaling that they acknowledge that they needed to pivot. Changes usually don't settle into concrete reality until about 2 years after they happen. Personally, I think Daredevil: Born Again might be a better clue about where they're heading because their huge delay and altering course on that projext was the first project they really started saying they can't afford to screw up. They've tried to change things for Captain America: Brave New World, but it was probably too deep into production by that time for them to make the kind of significant changes that they seem to have made with Daredevil.

It seems like the better MCU films come off as endings. There’s Endgame that closed off the entire arc that began with the first Iron Man movie. There’s No Way Home that closed off Spider-Man’s MCU arc. Guardians 3 seemed the end of their run. And now Deadpool & Wolverine looks like a farewell to these two characters as we know them because, unlike their comic book counterparts, Reynolds and Jackman can’t do this forever. Maybe that’s a sign from the universe that this whole superhero movie genre has run its course.

I thought this movie was great. There are obvious problems with the plot and villains, but it was fun as hell to watch. The swearing, jokes, action and violence were everything I wanted from a Deadpool and Wolverine movie, and it made me think of a straight up comic book as a movie.
The MCU doesn’t need saving because it has already run it’s course. The run up to Endgame was fantastic, but now it’s over, and they need to focus on just writing good scripts, and telling good stories that don’t need hundreds of millions of dollars to make.
I love Ryan and Hugh, but hate Disney. I bought a ticket for another film off-peak, checked seating plans online, and snuck in. If someone had come in for the seat I had taken I could always apologise and say I'd moved forward or something. Same as that I no longer drink Bud light, I will not support Disney...
I'm not sure that Jon Favreau was de-aged but something about him looked off. While I was looking at him, i thought "damn he's aged" I think they just used makeup to make him look younger. Dunno though.

This movie isn't trying to save the MCU, and it holds little reverence for what Marvel is currently doing (spoiler- there are so many dead MCU variant characters in this movie). And some... movies that you wanted but never came out let's say. But anyway, this whole conversation of Deadpool saving the MCU. No, absolutely not. Because it's not trying to. It's mostly just using the fact that they're owned by Disney now to just make fun of everything the MCU has done- the good and the bad. This movie is going to be huge. The theater I go to is never packed. The last time I saw this many people pack out the theater was for Mad Max Fury Road. It was so packed. This movie is going to be huge, and everyone is going to have great things to say about it. You can tell this by how much an audience enjoys a movie, and the audience was loving the movie the entire time. I have spoiler disappointments. The whole movie feels like a 4 year old saying bad words and farting for 2.5 hours There were some Americans next to me and they laughed. I didn't. Most people didn't . The last scene, with Johnny, after all the credits... We were at the door and a teenager's reaction was "what the fuck??? I waited for THIS??? LET'S GO HOME!!!"
Fun as hell?? I guess it had a moment here and there, but it was way too long. Many of the fights were overextended , and the multiverse needs to be put to bed. There was no real reason to make this movie save for $. It doesn't propel the MCU forward at all, and as far as rewatchibilty goes, I don't need to see it again for a long time. It's actually more interested in the Fox stuff, but not just Fox other Marvel movies that used to get made in the 90s and the early 2000s. And some... movies that you wanted but never came out let's say.
But anyway, this whole conversation of Deadpool saving the MCU. No, absolutely not. Because it's not trying to. It's mostly just using the fact that they're owned by Disney now to just make fun of everything the MCU has done- the good and the bad.
This movie is going to be huge. The theater I go to is never packed. The last time I saw this many people pack out the theater was for Mad Max Fury Road. It was so packed. This movie is going to be huge, and everyone is going to have great things to say about it. You can tell this by how much an audience enjoys a movie, and the audience was loving the movie the entire time.
I have spoiler disappointments. No Nolan North Deadpool cameo being the huge one and only major spoiler I'll say. It's honestly a super misstep and now I'm rethinking and maybe this movie should flop. How could they have so much knowledge about Deadpool, and Marvel movies, and not have Nolan North Deadpool in the movie at all?
I'm kidding of course, but it is disappointing and when you see the movie you'll see why. He could have, but it's clearly a massive oversight that they did not. I may have to start a write in campaign about this. Ryan needs to answer some questions.
Great movie. This is the movie Marvel needs right now.
That being said I want to hear more about the announcement that Kevin Feige will now be shifting the MCU into this new mutant era, and what people think about that. Will that save the MCU? Does it even matter? How many more cameos do you expect to see for the next 10 years because cameos are going to be the biggest lesson Marvel learns from this movie.

Not bad, but some of the scenes were too long. They could have used the time saved in better ways. Still, it was fun.

I suspect the movie is simply to vulgar and gory for mainstream UK. It does not feel like an actual Disney movie (which is why I love it so much).

@@ash_durant6071 From the few I've read in newspapers, like The Independent, Guardian and Telegraph; their main complaints are related to call backs, cameo's, not all the jokes hit, multiverse and just generally not being as good as the first Deadpool.

If made me smile many times but it was really boring a lot. Mid story and mid villain. In an age of the Acolyte, i enjoyed myself, but this was the weakest of the Deadpool films

Saw it tonight. Best super hero film since Spider-Man 3. Best of the Deadpool film and for me best of the Wolverine films. (just my opinion)

Maybe because I'm not American... But the movie absolutely sucks. It makes a good joke and then ruins it by repeating it 3 times and adding 3 jokes on top. The 4th wall jokes are awful, repetitive and destroy the movie; unlike the previous Deadpool movies where they augmented the movie.
The whole movie feels like a 4 year old saying bad words and farting for 2.5 hours There were some Americans next to me and they laughed. I didn't. Most people didn't . The last scene, with Johnny, after all the credits... We were at the door and a teenager's reaction was "what the fuck??? I waited for THIS??? LET'S GO HOME!!!"
No,it won’t make a billion. It’s fun for domestic market but not for the international, lots of jokes won’t work internationally.

Fun as hell?? I guess it had a moment here and there, but it was way too long. Many of the fights were overextended , and the multiverse needs to be put to bed. There was no real reason to make this movie save for $. It doesn't propel the MCU forward at all, and as far as rewatchibilty goes, I don't need to see it again for a long time. I even caught myself looking at my watch.
Logan is very violent. Maybe they forgot…Also making something more extreme doesn’t make it necessarily better.
The spoiler whining gets super annoying. First of all who cares and if you do care so much don’t watch reviews before you see it especially when Chris is reviewing! Lol
