I have the same combo exactly, 7600X and 4070S. I could go 7800x3d but was not gonna see a difference on 1440p. The GPU is not strong enough to unveil 7800x3d's extra performance. I can always upgrade to a 3d chip if need be as I have a good motherboard.
7800x3d only make a possible difference if u go to higher end GPU (4080+) 7600 + rx7900gre here, ultimately happy edit: 7600 and 7600x has a marginal difference, so go with the cheapest
There is one underrated aspect to this if you can afford it and that is peace of mind. I bought 7600 with the idea that I will wait for next x3d, but was dreaming about 7800x3d for more than a year. Just got it 2 days ago by some coincidence and GPU RMA exchange. Even though it performs the same with 4070 super now, but once 5070, 6070, ... starts to perform close to 4090 there will be difference. No matter what, I sleep well now.

Just because a test doesn't answer a question you have doesn't make it bad. The test is excellent for people wondering which CPU they need. Lots of false "information" about that around.

i wouldn't worry much about 7600 temps esp at 1440p and above. the default cooler will definitely do well unless you want a specific look for your pc or if the stock cooler fan is louder than other fans which i doubt esp when the gpu is working.
Default can do okay. You want the longest and highest boost clocks, get the biggest cooler you can afford and fit. I have a Thermalright AXP-120-X67 because very low profile case, it sits about 8-10° lower than stock. Also you need to replace paste every 2-3 years, but to avoid that get Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut. You will sit 2-3° higher but never have paste dry out.
1080p is kind of CPU bound... i wouldn't go for best gaming CPU on market to play 1080p and you can clearly see there is no huge difference in 1440p cause higher res... the pc becomes more GPU bond... 7600x is decent... then once again you need the AM5 MB... if you go for that you should just go for 7800X3D instead... if you`re on a budget.. i`d rather go 7600x and change to 1440p

it is legit, first of all read descriptions of both cpus settings. and then check my videos 4070 super tested with 7600x and 7800x3d in 1080p 1440p 4k rt dlss fg in 25 games. results will match.
The benchmarks are 100% legit, you just don't understand why. Most of these titles are gpu intensive so most of the work is done by the gpu. That's why the creator spent hours making benchmarks for both 1080p and 1440p. At 1440p there's not a huge difference in fps but when compared to the 1080p results you can see a bigger difference in fps. At the lower resolution there is less demand on the gpu and more on the cpu (look at cpu utilization at 1080p compared to 1440p) which results in the difference in fps.
true. @ stock those cpu's may have more difference in raw power. once you tweak them, then you reach those speeds and temps as shown. try it, it's cake. most of the settings he uses are in the video description. maybe the power settings missing, ppt and other. leave it @ stock or set to motherboard specific setting.
That's a bad test (unless it's specifically for those that play on 4070 in 1440p), if you want to compare different CPUs you should set all graphics-related settings to low or at least lower the resolution as much as possible up to 480p, unless you have rtx4090, but here it's obviously not the case. The test is practically pointless, because the only thing we see here is GPU bottleneck
@@نورالامة1000 bruh, 4070 is a good card, but not that good, especially for new games (you need at least 4080 for that). I've got 3070 and it's worse only by 10-20% and it's not easy to get those stable 60 fps in newer games. 1080p is still viable, especially with current prices.

If you mean competitive games, then sure there you can get those 120 fps pretty easily

It's closer to 1080p but not by much. If we compare the pixel counts they are roughly 2,1 for 1080p, 2,7 for 2560x1080 and 3,7 million pixels for 2K.

That also depends on GPU, you will see bigger difference with 4080/4090 levels of performance than with 4070. X3D chips scale well with faster GPU’s!
