We were priveleged to have Jason give us a 1-trick show after he purchased something from our shop, when I asked hey how about a card trick? I love magic and to be able to see it up close- I mean we were 2 feet from each other- was amazing, and so cool for Jason to do it. And just like here, he blew our minds- with an even more impossible result. 10 stars!
What surprised me is that you stayed with it from the age of 7 on. I worked in a magic shop for over 30 years and the one thing I saw over and over was that boys lost their interest at 15 years old. Whether it was girls, cars or sports they were gone. Then, almost without exception, 4 to 6 years later they were back. You are definitely one of a kind.
I’m so glad I came across this. Awesome interview and great to hear some backstory from Jason. I’m also glad I came across Jason’s stuff and have been devouring all his content. Easily one of the best I have seen and would die to know how does what he does. Maybe one day we will be lucky to have him share. Just stunning. Entertaining and so effortless.
Jason is right. I learned this years ago that haters are great for generating content by responding to them. Even though I have told them thousands of times that the effect of them knocking me online is more exposure of my brand to more people they don't stop. I get compliments on my stuff and get 10 views. A knocker shows up and gves me a platform to rebutt their claims and I get hundreds of viewers. And the best part is that what I post in rebuttal is factual and provable so it gives my fans the information they need to rebut the knockers adequately when I haven't seen the knock. I love watching Jason do these truly mindbending feats. He is arguably a Master Shaolin Monk of card tricks.
I love how the pander starts as Jason grabs the deck and starts his thing(29:20). I always get Ricky Jay vibes from Jason, and it's absolutely amazing. Specially when he does the Mexican poker part. He's top notch, through and through.
My son sends me these Instagram videos all the time. What I love above the awesomeness of the gig is his delivery and personality that makes it a whole cool fun “deal”. ❤
I am so happy to finally have a sense for how some of these are approached. It's just the right mix of cleverness and apparent simplicity but also where you can see how much practice goes until making it look impossibly smooth.
This made me realize so much of Jason’s show is the linguistic part of it. He is able to bombard you with lines he’s rehearsed millions of times. He used a lot of phrases I’ve heard in his shorts. You think you’re just paying attention to cards. But he really wants you to pay attention to his words. Which are subconscious for him at this point.
I don't know if I've said this before, but Jason's statement at 57:56 "It's also weight" is pretty true. When you've dealt with objects of a specific weight for very long periods of time, you can feel if something is off. At my job, I can tell if there's an issue with an item just by picking it up and going "this weight feels off". And then it turns out it is, because it's missing fluids or it's missing a container inside of the package. That's if I don't hear the crinkle of a punctured aluminum container when I pick it up, or see moisture inside of the pallet wrap, first.
I knew it lol soon as he implied that it was becoming more difficult my instincts yelled "It's getting easier... He's only following one card it's getting easier! lol then he makes the final 'reverse shuffle' and plants that last card lol why do we all love being lied to so much? 🤔 x
I met Jason in Vegas a while back, he's a super nice guy and to me the best in the world, part of his act is acting like a prick on his YT videos, it's all pat of the show folks.
😂😂 I think I figured out that last trick. He controlled the aces, so no matter which cards he let you choose from, they were always the junk cards. If you didn't take both cards to end the game, for your last choice, the last choice you would have had would have been between a junk card and that 2 of hearts that was left in Jason's hand. You never had a chance to get an ace because they were always controlled to the bottom of the deck! 🤣 Great job, Jason. I love watching your videos and scratching my head! You're the best!
That's exactly the method, the amazing thing is how he can make everything look so natural and be able to control "the crowd" to make the effect as strong as possible.
Everyone wants compliments, “Well done” “you’re amazing!” Magicians want to be told they’re not liked by people because it means we’re putting you at unease, which means you KNOW what you’re seeing shouldn’t be possible but we’re doing it to you any way. Also: what magicians REALLY want is to be insulted by other magicians... Jason, I really love to hate you and hate to love you. You beautiful brain bending bastard x
That last trick was insane. He really did have all the choices. He was tracking the whole time and making sure you would never choose the Aces. That is what is amazing since the shuffles look really good but nope.
That one was actually "easy". And I mean easy to explain. The sleight of hand is extraordinary of course, but the way you can pull this off if you can reorder the deck is again - easy. Just always give two shitty cards to choose from ;) He doesn't leave anything to chance, so basically those Aces where never offered as a choice, always crap cards ;) But still, you need to be able to: 1) reorder the deck to get the aces where you want them 2) Keep them at the bottom (or anywhere else) so that they are never offered. He's just that good
Thanks for bringing Jason to your channel. Jason, you are so talented or should I say “persistent” with all the practice you have in those hands. AND on top of putting together a great story while you’re presenting your trick. Great showmanship, great personality … you’re an awesome person 🙂👍🏻
I continue to wonder if Jason is capable of dealing fair, or if his skill is so deep rooted that he can only deal himself winners and he can't stop finding the aces.
Fantastic interview. The results of discipline, practice and the sheer will to become the best is always impressive to see. He's the Jordan of card tricks.
Gambling Slight of hand, to me, is a superior craft. There's no ...if I give the deck a little shake...if I snap my fingers type commentary, then the card jumps back up to the top. Don't insult people's intelligence. Your work is top notch Jason. Sincerely, thank you.
Nice. The first effect can be done on the square with corner shorts and some simple riffle shuffles. Cut to either card (AD) bringing it to the top. Do three riffles placing it 10th from the top and then deal down 10 cards revealing the AD. With estimation you can go much further. If off by three or less, you can say the player would play 3 hands and get the ace in one of those hands. If a BJ pays 3 to 2 (like the old days), then each hand has a 17% starting advantage. Starting your hand with an Ace in BJ, yields a 52% starting advantage.
So interesting! Jason is a delight and marvel. When anyone reaches virtuoso level of any skill, it's remarkable-- but Jason's card work is truly mind bending.
Yeah as a magician, cheating artifice is the ultimate and he’s a real magicians magician. Really he’s the best, except for like one guy. Other than probably actual legendary cheaters. Great interview for lay ppl
@divyanshsingh1078 at the end of the day, best is subjective. Saying one of the best is more accurate for anyone you could name (assuming they do have that skill)
1:01:51 that slick cut is where he made sure the right ten cards were on top. He let you think you were controlling the game, but he snuck that cut in without mentioning it. Then the overhand shuffles, as he showed earlier, are super easy to control, so he always made sure the two cards you had to choose from were the cards you were ultimately gonna get. He's still the GOAT, but that hand was easier to see how he manipulated you. You probably didn't even notice that extra cut, or never even considered how important it was to the outcome.
I spotted that the Ace in the first trick was the wrong suit. And also noticed that he always kept the top of the deck together. That was an easy one to spot.
What is impressive is he doesn't need to fool people with magic trick. He is just being real with the skill he did learn from reading those 25 year overdue magic books. It took 15 years to fool his brother, so the skill transformation started, and now he can do just about anything with cards. I played poker and I've always wondered about self-dealing in casinos and home games. It is possible to reach some of the stages Jason has learned where you have a solid starting hand only to find out your opponent has a pocket pair. You started out with a straight on the flop only to be beaten by a full house by the river. Did something happen that shouldn't have? Or is it truly variance? That is why I watch and subscribe to Jason's YT. To understand and pay attention to what he does. Will it help me? Maybe. But it's very entertaining.
Did you really realize the deck was “a little light”and missing one card? Either you are that good or there was a hole in the blindfold and saw that you had missed a card. I know I won’t be the one accusing you of cheating I’m too smart for that 😂😂😂
i solved the trick of the last game. when he shows the card the 4s are in the 7th....and 20th position then 27th and then 40th position out of 52 card. so the card were already set in a proper combination and scheme
Not going to lie, I think Jason is the best in the world…
You've convinced me over the last 6 months, no doubt.
Can confirm, but Jason have you read Confident Deceptions by Jason Ladanye? He might give Jason Ladanye a run for his money.
@@grizzlybirdfpv8549 eh, I wasn't as impressed with that one as I was by Confident Deceptions by Jason Ladanye.
Jason - You're truly talented but the "I'm the greatest" is rather childish, mate
@@TAROTAI It's a good thing that nobody gives a fuck what you think.
I found Jason a few weeks ago. The Dude is a Savage and Talented beyond belief.
When you hear Jason say “my mentor” it sounds strange. I just figured he came out of the womb like that. Dude is amazing.
He is so like Darwin Ortiz in technique and mannerisms, can 100% tell he has studied hard with the guy.
At 35 years old Jason has me inspired to start practicing magic myself,I hope the saying "your never too old" counts in this scenario lol
Hey I started about 7 months ago, how is it coming along
Picking up the interest at 38 my guy. Never too old.
The shuffle tracking with 4 fours is just mindblowing ...
What in the actual f*ck? Found this guy on Instagram and now down the TH-cam rabbit hole. Freaking incredible!

I'm a big fan of Jason and this hour long video flew by! Amazing stuff
Jason is as good as it gets.
Jason is in a league of his own when it comes to card tricks. The only other person who even compares is Ricky Jay, RIP.
This dude is a machine
@@gasser5001Richard turner is without doubt thee greatest mechanic ever. Check him out, he's also blind since 5 yr old

That first trick he brought up different jack and ace. The suits are switched.
Not sure if you didn't continue to watch the video but he talked about that, making a point of specifically showing how and why he did that.
