- (links below) Review of AAC's OTC, SMK, and TMK ammo in 5.56. How accurate is it? How reliable is it? How consistent are the speeds/energy? Can you punch pennies with them at 100 yards? Only one way to find out.

I've been buying this AAC 77gr Sierra since it came out, and it's been great so far.
Have you chrono'd them? If so, what were the numbers, what barrel, what elevation sea level?
It makes me super super happy to see these AAC ammo tests. No I’m not even close to a marksman but seeing the results you can produce shows me that any mistakes made are totally on me. This ammo is outstanding. I just hit the button on another 500 rounds of 75 grain black tip.
Your videos are not only informative they are highly entertaining. Thanks for all that you do. CS Deals are great as well.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this happy when making videos!
Great content awesome review and shooting: I have been wanting some info on PSA's new AAC ammo. thanks for the content and reviews, it has answered my questions. now all I have to do get some of that AAC ammo, and see for myself.
I'm running IMI 77gr. Getting great groupings. Thanks for the video.
All of my experience is with Mk262LR from Blackhills in role as Military Rifle Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver SDM Training and as a US Distinguished Rifleman shooting in US Service Rifle Competition. What I know for sure is this ammo will hold inside MOA at 600 meters even from a rack grade M4 when shot by a shooter who has had some marksmanship training. BTW, you can use an MOA wind constant of 9 or 10 at 600 meters for MOA results in wind. Example for 10 mph wind at 600 meters: 600 divided by 100 times 10 mph divided by 10 equals about 36 inches of favor. At 100 yards the favor for a 10 mph cross wind is about 1 inch.
I started watching for the ammo testing, stayed for the sweet range setup
really appreciate your videos, thank you
Test the AAC .308 and AAC 6.5cm plz. we trust your opinion.
.308 reviews coming, one I hope by weekend. YT is being difficult.
Thanks for giving us what we wanted to see!
Btw typo in your title: otc instead of otm
Drew that's the Biggest and most BEAUTIFUL backyard I've ever seen ❤️. Outstanding long range shooting , I also really like AAC ammo great stuff .
Excellent video. Appreciate your time 👍👍
I have some of the 77gr OTM coming, UPS promises it will be delivered tomorrow. Cheaper than Black Hills Mk 262 but, I believe, using the same bullet. Thought they’d work well in my 20” barreled rifles and also my 22” bolt action, can’t wait to see how they perform.
it's not the same bullet, the mk262 uses a sierra branded bullet. The 77 OTM is a mystery or otherwise AAC's own 77gr
Just got some 77 OTM. I don't have a precision scope, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to punch pennies at 100 yds.... Pennies Beware! Great video! Thanks and Blessings!
Good ammo. Good shooting. Thank you.
Good video.
bought the 77gr OTM' Immediately following ur video 2 months ago & just got to test em yesterday. Unbelievable. dead bull first shot. Warmed the barrel up. Made one adjustment and the next 10 rounds made 6 total holes @ 100 yards. Then the remaining 9 rounds flipped the 3 inch steel plate 8x's at 200yrds. This IS THE ONLY AMMO for my Radical Arms multi cal. 16 inch 1:7 twist. Thank you for all you do.
Ballistics gel comparisons please!
I have all sorts of ammunition from AAC. 5.7, 223/556, 300bo, 9mm and a few more. Thing is, it's running with or exceeding accuracy from Hornady & Barnes Precision on the rifle loads, for often well under half the cost. Sometimes with the same bullet from the same manufacturer.
These guys are doing it extremely well, especially for a startup manufacturer in South Carolina. Kudos!
Nice
Received ammo looks good so far. Packing was horrible. 3 inch space inch empty space in box. This is what i found when I opened individual boxes. Ammo going all different directions inside individual boxes
What barrel length & twist rate you use to get those stats ?
Nice 👍
Got a couple boxes of the 77gr otm and had a couple blown out primers. Performed well at distances and grouped about 1-1.5 MOA though 😊
I've shot right at 1000 +/- rnds of the 77gr otm and have never any problems with the ammo at all and it's very accurate.
any concerns that the 77gr loads were coming in 175 fps below the advertised velocity and the 69 gr load 350 fps slow? I'm assuming that AAC is doing the industry standard thing of using a 20" barrel for 5.56 loads and a 24" barrel for .223 velocities
Honestly, I never pay attention to what they list for fps. Most of the time, my main concern is simply how tight are the groups and are the speeds consistent. Hope that helps
I've been curious about the Black-tip, probably not as much as my wife tho. In all seriousness, I think AAC mite have us all covered with their selection. All the way down to 9mm. Get them to load 10mm as hot as Buffalo Bore and I'll strictly do business with them for small arms.
recently, April 2024, their quality control has gone down hill quickly. I've noticed extreme spreads of almost 100 fps out of the same box and SD's of 40's in the same lot of 500 rounds of the 77 OTM. My friend chamber checked 60 rounds and had 8 not be able to pass a case gauge. I'd check your chrono if you were getting the lower velocity out of the 69's vs the 77's .
LOL, I bought a box of all to do my own testing. Then I see this video.
I can't imagine the disappointment. From the video:
"The 77gr TKM."
"I have a strong heartbeat. My heart is pounding."
" Well this trigger, uh..."
"This wind, it's crazy stupid."
"This stock, haven't used it yet."
"Move over to the 77gr OMT."
Dude's a trip.
Back to reality: Every barrel is different. Every gun is different. My experience, the following ammo, out of a 18" BA SPR barrel, 20 rounds each ammo, separate group average, 30 seconds between every shot, 160 rounds (all 5.56), alternating between aim points to mitigate variation from barrel heat:
1. Black Hills Mk262 Mod 1-C: 0.572"
2. AAC 77gr SMK: 0.676"
3. AAC 77gr TMK: 0.740"
4. Hornady Frontier 75gr: 0.811"
5. IMI Razorcore 77gr: 0.827"
6. Hornady Black 75gr: 0.969"
7. AAC Black Tip 75gr: 1.272"
8. AAC 77gr OTM: 1.317"
For accuracy/$ ratio, under 300 yds, any of these will do fine. 600 yds+, the AAC TMK's will outpace anything else on the list. Overall, the SMK's are a great average.
It's probably better to dedicate a video per ammo type, for the search algorithm & people looking for one ammo type.
Do you feel the stock provides any cushion with 223?
The recoil from 223 is so minimal you don’t need any special stocks you need to learn body positioning rolling the shoulder into the stock all the good stuff that of course is if your not using a stand or tripod
So you have a twitter account you could post the data to?
I believe he only posts deals on twitter
Typo in the title?
You could be sent better quality controlled ammo. I still appreciate the review.
what happened to your eye?
