Love seeing the guys play, and I really love the music that Toto creates! But I do have to say this: Joe Williams. He either needs to sing in a lower key, or consider retiring. He no longer has the power and clarity to hit those high notes. I'm well aware of the fact that he is older (63 years old) and he does have a lot of mileage on his vocal chords, but he really has struggles with certain aspects of the higher register. But I still love that he's giving it his all.

Toto is premium. Sounds better than Journey, Styx and others. Luke is the only original left and the only difference is lead vocals from their prime in the 80s. Joe does not have the range Bobby did in his prime. I would rank them and Night Ranger as the best sounding bands live. ACDC was good in the 80s but the singer don't have the range he use to. What a lot of people do not understand is sound is not only the band but the one mixing. Also who is frontlining. Toto will not be mixed as well when performing with Journey. When the are headlining, they are hard to beat talent and sound wise.

I dunno….the Emperor has no clothes. Apart from the brilliance of Paich’s stand-in, Phillingaines, this “version” of Toto is weak. The drummer is nowhere near Simon Phillips, and Williams needs to hang up the mic. Give Kimball and Steve Porcaro a call back and let’s do this thing FOR REAL! This version - embarrassing, and a sad insult to what was once TOTO.

    • @CaptainSpyware

True, Simon is a monster and kicked their asses but he is busy currently with other projects. However, Shannon Forrest IS a good drummer. Bobby Kimball is in retirement and sadly has dementia. Steve Porcaro is not so much a tour guy. Joseph needs to hang up the mic!? Seriously? He's singing his ass of. The man is 64. His voice is fine. Yes, it's a different version of TOTO. But I'm happy that they keep going. We need bands like this and they are more successful than ever before! They have 30 million(!) listeners on Spotify after all.
