Today's talk was extremely unique in the sense that it touched so many deep points and the explanation was also to the point and so easy to understand, and it covered a broad spectrum. This talk should become a book. Thank you Swami Sarvapriyananda.
I would like to thank you Swami Sarvapriyananda, and all the team from Vedanta Society of New York. This year I established it as an habit to watch the lectures on every Sunday. Of course in some cases I couldn't be present, but nonetheless, it was of amazing help in many dimensions of my life, even though I still experience some resistance and doubt. I hope to continue in this path next year. This year may be ending, but the consciousness that we are is always present. Happy New Year everybody! Om Shanti 🕉️🙏
Pranams and Thank you Swami for such a perfect Q&A. Does anyone have a link to last month's Ask Swami November 2024? It was so excellent and cannot find it on TH-cam for some reason.
Ah, and I have a question, it's the same one that was asked at 1:31:15 . Swamiji explained the headless man practice, but not the part as to why we feel it's neutral and not blissful as it's usually described. I would like to understand that, because me too, when I experience some of that oneness and quietness of mind, it's all very neutral. Thank you!
The Swami's description of buddhism is often a bit off. We should make it clearer what we mean by consciousness; whether we mean the object of consciousness or the underlying consciousness itself, ie, the mirror itself vs. the objects that appear in the mirror. Conventionally, we identify with objects in the mirror. With practice, we learn to identify with the pure mirror ("consciousness"). Eventually, we must drop the mirror as well. But ultimately, it's all the same. The distinctions we make in practice are just "expedient means."
I wish the swami would stop referring to the warmongering Sam Harris. It's such a bad look to appeal to that genocider again and again and again as if he's some authority on spiritual matters in any form.
Jai Maa

Another Unlisted video. Why VSNY?? So many videos are unlisted... How can you share knowledge if it is unlisted?
It went live today but will be listed later
