Thank you for this. There has been almost no information on this sofa on the internet at all. I'm looking forward to the followup, definitely interested. I'm hoping mine arrives before April, it's been three months already for me.

Never considered the fabric rippling! So glad you brought this up. Dang... I wanted to love this sofa too but now I'm nervous. Would love any follow-up!
I will be doing an update soon! We are getting a replacement as customer service from DWR "recommended it. Seems like the rippling isn't normal at all (at least not to this extent)!
@@AlmightyBungholio9 we are currently looking at purchasing this couch too, and found it hard to find a place to actually sit in it. How is your ripple problem developing, are Hays easy to deal with regarding the replacement? Thanks so much for posting this video!
@@eddieo3296 Hi! The ripples are getting worse (the chaise section is just fine as it was from day one but the ripples on the other half are "spreading") It is looking more and more worn at this rate. I contacted HAY and they told me it will straighten out over time...then suggested that I reach out to the person I have been working with at DWR (sort of brushed me off) who told me a replacement is the best option. I will do an update soon. Honestly though we are looking at getting a totally different couch now.
@@AlmightyBungholio9 when you say a replacement will be the best option, I assume that would be covered by HAY, or is that at your own cost? Sorry to hear this.
@@eddieo3296 It was purchased through DWR and they have been 100x more helpful then HAY with resolving this, they are also the ones helping with the replacement so that's going through them. So far its been fantastic customer care from DWR.
Hi, this is such a helpful video! I live in the UK and am thinking about purchasing this sofa. It would be great to see a follow-up video. Like everyone else, I'm keen to know if the rippling has got any worse? Fingers crossed it hasn't.
I’ve had the Quilton couch since January as well, and I’ve also noticed rippling. Unfortunate in that it would be a nearly perfect couch otherwise. I still love it though.
😯 Has it gotten worse? Mine is "spreading" but the chaise is still like new. I don't get why. It truly would be the perfect couch if it stayed looking like it does in the brands stock photos!
@@AlmightyBungholio9 yep, it’s only gotten worse. I have the sofa model, and it has rippling on most of the panels now. Also took a closer look at the floor model in the Hay showroom in Berkeley (I had taken a photo back in November 21), and there’s actually a little rippling on 2 panels. I think the great lighting must’ve distracted me 😫.
@@lizapizarro301 OMG same here! I got the HAY location in Chicago to send me photos of the sofa from the showroom and it looked flawless... I figured that a bunch of people must have sat on it and been testing it out and yet it still looks tight and smooth. It must have been the lighting or maybe they don't get as much traffic as I thought??? Part of me knows that fabric stretches out over time.... but not this quickly! Really considering replacing it for something different now :(
Thanks for this review it was so helpful! Your fabric review and testing was brilliant. I'm sad your fabric didn't perform well after waiting so long for this sofa... and am wondering if they replaced it-- if so, did the replacement work out? Would love a followup on this-- we were settled on this sofa but, not so sure we want to risk it now.
Sorry for the delayed reply, They sent us a replacement only for one half and when that half arrived the color of the fabric was totally different. At that point we requested an exchange to a different couch/brand. We waited too long for the HAY replacement to keep going back and forth and it was too much hassle to keep setting up dates with the shipping company and taking time off from work to accept the shipments. That being said we are very lucky that we bought this from couch from DWR who had good customer care. HAY didn't know how to handle the issue and referred us to the store we bought from for help which I thought was odd.
How has the fabric situation been resolved. I sat in Quilton and Mags Low in NYC DWR. Both were comfortable, Mags I like a lot love the stitching but concerned maybe seat height alittle low and also confused between the 2. In NYC DWR the quilton is upholstered in the soft fabric you mentioned didn’t pass the coffee test. It is super lovely to the hand. The issue of rippling is a bummer. Will ask the DWR rep about. Seems like these sofas have been in the European market for over a year, newer to US market. One would assume If DWR is carrying HAY it would speak to quality. Would love to hear another update. Or if anyone else purchase this or Mag Low Soft!
They actually have the Quilton on display at DWR now? 😅 - To answer your question: it wasn't resolved, we were told it was a manufacturing issue after we were told it would "get better" by HAY customer care, obviously it only got worse, not better but I guess they tried to brush us off, thankfully DWR offered a replacement but only for one half which came in a different shade fabric. Another quality control issue. I do really like the wool softer fabric, it was so nice - but don't spill anything on it because it WILL stain :( AS far as the height, we didn't find that to be an issue for the Quilton (not sure if its the same a MAGS) but the Quilton was very comfortable and easy to lounge in! They both have a different look, we loved the Quilton over the Mags because of the overall design and rounded style personally.
Thank you for your honest review! Curious to know your sofa’s current state after several months of daily use? My wife and I are seriously considering this sectional, but the rippling has me a bit concerned. Thanks!
The rippling kept getting worse, Im not sure why HAY told me it would get better. We ended up exchanging the couch for a different brand all together because the HAY couch started looking so worn out and not even 2 months had passed. I don't know for sure if this is fabric specific or if this was a manufacturing flaw with our piece. Maybe it was just a dud but we really weren't happy with the way it was looking after only a week of ownership and it kept getting progressively worse! If you buy it I suggest getting it from a place that would allow you to exchange/return it if this happens to the fabric.
Honestly the ripples have gotten slightly worse since my video, they sort of spread a little more out. I am starting to think we got a dud, maybe the fabric wasn't pulled tight enough or maybe its not stuffed enough...not sure why this is happening. I also find this this fabric is catching a lot of hair! Its electric almost to all lint and hair in our house! But on the bright side its still super comfortable!
Thanks we showed your video to our hay store.. they said we will change it if something like this happens.. I am not sure if it is fabric issue or how the sofa is designed.. we love this.. but we also are confused between Quilton and Mags.. 🤦♂️
Hello, we are considering to buy this couch, how is it holding up 10 month after? I’m quite concerned about the wrinkles you showed after a week, as this couch is an investment! Thanks!
Rippling never got better, it was quickly getting worse tho, (when I say quickly I mean for couch standards so like every week the ripples looked slightly worse) I am not sure if we just got a dud because the fabric they use is also used on other furniture pieces and based off reviews I read I didn't see people having such an immediate issue with ripping or stretching as we experienced. Also the fabric attracts A LOT of lint and dirt and hair which we did not expect. Like you would have to lint roll it or vacuum it make make it look fresh and new often, especially if your hair is darker then the color of the couch! Would I choose a different fabric - yes, for sure. If they had leather I would have def picked that over the fabric altogether. Did you end up buying this couch?
@@AlmightyBungholio9 Thanx for replying! We are getting it in 7 weeks and got a great deal through my godmother actually who gets discounts through her architectural firm. $1700 off! We got the flamiber fabric in grey. Hopefully it won't have any rippling.
