These scenes give a deep look into the fragile, desperate side of her from the trauma that’s implied, but not quite seen (outside of Monika’s interference) in the base game. The MC’s slothful apathy is pretty in-character (cause let’s be honest, the guy wouldn’t make the best boyfriend), & the unideal-ness of the whole situation makes it feel more grounded & real than what the rest of us would obviously rather do. (That is, spoil & indulge the adorable little tsundere with all the affection we got for her.) I’m a couple years late, but good work bike.
