Thought it would be cool to compare the charts of some of the songs that were once included in Rock Band and are now in Festival, starting with everybody's favorite. I've seen a lot of people think that the Festival charts are the same as the Rock Band charts, but that's just not true. At least in this circumstance. Perhaps the plastic instrument chart is the same? Idk yet.

Makes me wonder if they'll add in 3-note chords when official instrument support comes in.
I think the problem is wanting to attract more players with easier difficulties, so they probably won't do anything like that for a while

Seems like most of the differences in these charts are down to how the game expects you to play, i.e. one hand on 1 & 2 and the other on 3, 4, & 5.
And on top of that, they won't chart two gems on one side of the line on the highway.
Considering this is a mode in _Fortnite,_ I think those rules are pretty reasonable.
its because of controllers. they dont expect a left and right d-pad input at the same time
@@microwavable__ Those should probably never have been the default controls anyways but you can rebind them
@@jplayzow it's a fine control screen if you dpad don't such, definitely not optional but easier to pickup then using the shoulders and triggers
Guitar hero 1 got the controller binds perfect.... don't know why they shot themselves in the foot by using the d pad. Oof. LT RT LB RB and A/X Simple and no limitation for how you can hit a note.

With Harmonix being the devs for this mode, maybe we can get more KoЯn charts and songs. They seemed to have good luck with that, They considering KoЯn's new album appeared on the radio, It doesn't seem too far fetched.

The first set of songs are pretty good and i have high hopes for the future. Hopefully we can get metallica, avenged sevenfold, korn, slipknot, etc maybe even some deathcore or death metal (highly doubt). I hope they add full albums as well for 1000 vbucks (1500 max) since i know most people dont even buy albums anymore, i wouldnt mind spending 1500 on an album if it supports the artist

Also seeing the concessions made to make it playable for two thumbs is pretty neat. Quite unlike trying to play GH3 on a controller.

Honestly i think this is an example of where id thought they would chart such things like in Unplugged, since there that trill would have been Botton 2 and Button 4 repeating back and forth. Maybe a diff spike for such a song but it would have been fun.

I feel like the default controller settings are partially to blame for limited fortnite chords. Never liked binding the dpad.
Gh1 gh2 and gh3 all used the same controller binds and had no limitations. They even had achievements for using controller... so confusing that they didn't just use those original binds.

Pov: rockband chart made for guitar (one hand on buttons), uses 3 note chords and got some hard moves in solo part;
Fortnite chart : made for playing on keyboard (2 hands), and looks way easier than first one

That's a lift note. It basically acts like a hold note, but you need to let go of the note at the right time.

Wish Festival had the same kind of livelyness and variety of RB1/2s character animations. The singer doing the same sway animation in front of the mic is boring. Hopefully we can get new animations, band interacting with one another on stage, etc...

Harmonix was bought by Epic Games, and they're the ones behind Fortnite Festival. Harmonix was originally behind Guitar Hero before Activision bought the IP, then it was shifted to Neversoft. Then, they went out to make Rock Band after that. It's literally the same developer for both games lol

I know the Fortnite festival is on expert, but why does the speed still feel too slow. It honestly makes me mess up sometimes even after I’ve played guitar hero and rock band for so long
You can change the track speed in options, but i think you may already figured out since your comment is 3 weeks old :p
I high key HATE pressing buttons on a controller for festival. After always playing these kinda games with physical hardware it’s just irritating because I make mistakes that I know I wouldn’t mess up normally or somehow I don’t hit something in rhythm when like I know I was in rhythm with these double note inputs specifically. I’m a drummer -_- I shouldn’t be failing to do eighth notes lmao also the notes not being color coordinated is ANNOYING since at a glance I can easily mistake the triangle buttons input for square or vice versa.

We back to GH1. Most people playing don't know what a Guitar Band or Rock Hero is. That and 99% of people are playing with a gamepad, and not a guitar controller

Fortnite visually looks better. But it is a decade and a half more modern.

Only this I can complain about Fortnite’s it’s that it’s not as difficult and also you can’t just hold the fret down and then strum…. You have to tap literally EVERY SINGLE NOTE on Fortnite…. I have fun with it but they could improve. Epic owns Rockband and GH now

They could have gone the Rock Band Unplugged/Rock band for DS route, with 4 notes and more customizable controls. Would have been way better, but it's Fortnite, so I can't expect good decisions (I guess more notes look harder, even if the chart is completely boring and brain dead, because you always need to use the first two note for arps and chords)
But there is a 4 note mode, and you can customise the controls to be whatever you want.
Fortnite festival sucks. Rock Band better.
The new Pro Lead chart is IDENTICAL to the Rock Band one, so yes, Fortnite Festival really is Rock Band 5 🥲
