The mystery is compelling, I loved the dark humour as well as how they build the character relationships. Trying to get your head around what is happening and the implications of severance can make you theorise and think as much as "Dark".
Ok, after that intro where you explain you like to pause to talk, I'm immediately subscribed. Thank you. I wish more reactors would do this so they don't miss important things.
Love how in depth and analytical your reaction is, it seperates your content from other reactor channels I've watched - and for a show like Severance you have to be analytical to catch all the little things that make the show so incredible. Can't wait for you to see the rest of the episodes!
About the "monotonous job" thing. I'm the exact same way. Growing up I had jobs at Walmart, UPS, Restaurants, etc. And I quit every single one of them about a year in, because I was going crazy due to doing the same thing over and over and over.
Oh boi, do I KNOW the "Stanley Parable" XD I was OBSESSED with that game when it first came out. And now that you mention it, I can see those parallels completely too
came to this channel for IWTV but cant wait to watch your other reactions. this just reminded me this show has been on my watch list for ages. I'm gonna binge it first myself but than definitely coming back to watch this :)
once you're finished watching i highly recommend looking up and reading "the Lexington letter". it's an official severance short story and it provides some really interesting information on this show's mysteries.
Okay, I'm here after watching your s2 iwtv finale reaction to watch this series that you watched before you ever started iwtv. I'm excited that I'll get to binge through all of your Severance s1 reactions ahead of s2
The Comstock reference wrinkled my brain because when I first watched Severance I drew a few parallels with Bioshock Infinite in some details as things progress. I’ve not played Control, but the fact you picked up on some similarities there too makes me think someone on the writing team was maybe getting some inspiration from games, which is cool as shit.
not the Dinkelberg reference 😂😂 just stumbled across your channel! LOVE your love for cinema already (and your moustache is killer) by now you already now the show's fantastic on a visual level but also on a storytelling level
Tiny correction: it looks like his name plaque says his name is Mark Allentown. But it actually says "Mark S. - Allentown". Mark Scout from Allentown, I assume. Anyway, just found your channel, love the content. You pay very close attention and give great input. Excited to see you go through this awesome season!
I'm not sure about Control, but I am pretty sure the writers have mentioned Bioshock being an inspiration. You'll probably see more of this as the show goes on.
A long while back I accidentally watched the final episode of this show which I luckily forgot mostly. Mainly because I had no idea whats going on of course. Seeing this video was a reminder that I can probably start watching it "blind" now. Anyway, a couple thoughts: 1. That reaction from the guys in the office to the new co-worker is hilarious. Of course they stare at her. They only have memories of their work life, theres a good chance they don't even remember seeing any woman ever. Well, if they dont have meetings with the boss at least. 2. The husband of the protagonists sister was in Spider-Man Homecoming. Tech guy for Michael Keatons villain character. 3. And the most important one: I did say in the comments for the Succession finale, that I would love a Connor Roy as ambassador spin-off. Sort of political comedy. I was wrong. I just want Connor Roy to be in every show from now on.
So, I'm at minute one of this video. So you're saying that you will actually pause the video to talk instead of talking all over it and missing most of the plot?! What a novel idea. You know what? I think this is the first time I'll subscribe after one minute.
Subscribe earned just from your warning/description of your reaction style. I don’t get people who complain on reaction channels about talking. And I really hate recaps labeled as analysis or “explanation.”
Hi! Just found your channel and was going to watch your Severance reactions, but your playlist starts with episode 9 and descends until episode 1 is the last video in the list. I would love it if you could change the order to ascending so that episode 1 is the first video and all of the later episodes follow in chronological order. (it should be an easy fix in the playlist edit function.) Thanks in advance. I'll subscribe now and check back later to see if the playlist is watchable. It'll add to your view count as well if ppl can easily access a whole season in the proper viewing order.
Nice! I’m new here but I highly recommend not pause because you could interrupt something that could take significant time to be built, and loose the impact of what it’s suppose to have (i.e. the meeting between Mark and Cobel as a whole). There are some good examples on the internet. 😃
I appreciate the input, and I thank you for stopping by! I try and time the pausing to not interrupt major story beats, but it's hard to know all that's coming up if you haven't already seen the show. Plus I have to pause a lot to avoid copyright issues. I'm always striving to make a better viewing experience though, so I'll keep this in mind as well. Thanks for watching
@fvc1612 I find the pauses to offer-up commentary or state observations, quite enjoyable! It’s one of my favorite parts of reaction videos. 😊 I do, however, *whole-heartedly* agree that with some bits of continued dialog or conversational moments in this show- the flow is better left uninterrupted. When I first watched Severance, the part where Ricken is rambling on about Mark’s decision to become severed, 46:58 I literally laughed out loud at the progressively growing ‘negative’ list. I was looking forward to MovieMan101’s reaction to that funny bit _specifically_ but I presume that the pause threw off the timing of the humorous moment. I think most reactors catch those moments in editing, though. 😊
Love the reactions, but you really gotta chill with how much you spoil other shows man LOL. I gotta skip so many sections because you're putting in clips of things I haven't watched yet 😂
My bad!! :( I try not to be too egregious with it, and often I'll try and preface the clip before playing it, but I'm sure I'm getting more carried away these days. Thanks for watching and taking the risk with me though!
Omg I’m 12 min in and your reaction is pretty unbearable. You know, idk if you know this but there is a middle ground between a mute reaction and a non stop talking reaction. Like, seriously, it’s not like you’re even saying anything that matters. Literally you’ve talked non stop for over 10 min and none of it was actually worth listening because it was just constant chatter about what was onscreen. What even is this?!
Can't overstate how good the whole season is
What makes it good?
The mystery is compelling, I loved the dark humour as well as how they build the character relationships. Trying to get your head around what is happening and the implications of severance can make you theorise and think as much as "Dark".
I love how much you’re paying attention to detail, this is definitely a show with a lot to analyze!
And then what conclusions did you make upon your analysis?
Ok, after that intro where you explain you like to pause to talk, I'm immediately subscribed. Thank you. I wish more reactors would do this so they don't miss important things.
100%. I've watched so many reactors who talk over the entire episode, and it's so damn irritating how much they miss, even massive reveals lol
Love how in depth and analytical your reaction is, it seperates your content from other reactor channels I've watched - and for a show like Severance you have to be analytical to catch all the little things that make the show so incredible. Can't wait for you to see the rest of the episodes!
im so happy that interview with the vampire has been suggested. that show is magnificent, with amazing actors and an incredible story
dude i am SO excited for you to watch this show!!!!!!!!!
Such a great show. Has a certain "magic" to it that only a few other shows I have seen have. Also some stellar cinematography
So glad you’ve started! Love the way your mind works when analyzing & questioning this shOw!!
Mark the type of guy to say “right as rain”
About the "monotonous job" thing. I'm the exact same way. Growing up I had jobs at Walmart, UPS, Restaurants, etc. And I quit every single one of them about a year in, because I was going crazy due to doing the same thing over and over and over.
the control vibes are insane, it's fun seeing someone else watching severance while also having played it :)
goated game btw
4:21 “I think you’ll feel peachy keen” you can’t come in swinging like this😂
The look was actually partially inspired by The Stanley Parable, which is a video game you might know.
Oh boi, do I KNOW the "Stanley Parable" XD I was OBSESSED with that game when it first came out. And now that you mention it, I can see those parallels completely too
@@MovieMan101 I figured it was up your alley! You gotta play Ultra Deluxe if you haven't already, might be a nice game for stream/recording, too 👍

Severance is one of the few shows you can go to from Succession and still be blown away by the quality and unique vibe… 🔥🙌🏻
Yay, a new series. I never got past the 1st episode but i will do it to watch your reactions!
Worst thing about being an Outtie would be driving all the way to work and then immediately having to drive back home. Every day.
This show is awesome, and i like how you take the time to analize everything
I'm loving it so far, thank YOU for watching

Your brain is gonna be scratched even more in my episode 2 commentary >:D
I’m sooo excited
52:44 He does, that’s why she keeps calling him to complain abt it lol
I know it didn't win the poll, but do not give up on watching Dark.
For the time being, I think you will enjoy your stay at lumon 😁
Definitely plan on watching it in the future!! Right up my alley
Boi howdy, do I have a new series you're really gonna like 0.o
@@MovieMan101 oh I know, I watch every video of yours 🤭
Another great series. You have plenty of time to watch season til the next one comes out. They just announced season 2 coming out Jan. 17.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one picking up on the FBC aesthetics at Lumon!
References to Control, Lost, Bioshock Infinite, AND appreciating the brutalist vibes? This sounds like the perfect reaction - can't wait to finish!
Adam Scott got screwed out of most the awards for this show 😮 he was brilliant
It's Better Caul Saul all over again :'(
@@MovieMan101 God I hope not!
I find it hilarious you dated the time period as the 90s, meanwhile that man is using a full on modern smartphone LOL
Yeah.... it took me a while, but I gradually make the realization lol
not the Dinkelberg reference 😂😂

He came from Allentown after scoring big with his "freshman fluke".
I think he was refining a file named Allentown and had some sort of a breakthrough, so they gave him the plaque.
Ooooohhhh, didn't notice that. Such an odd choice....
Thanks for coming along for the ride though, glad you're enjoying my reactions
@@MovieMan101 thank you man!! About to get to your episode 2 video before work. Loving the content truly! Gonna start succession soon enough

I am incredibly tempted to work in a Connor Roy cameo into every episode now XD
@@MovieMan101 Do it for the Conheads
Well, Carol D used to be part of the team, and she's mentioned in the pilot. 🙂
The soundtrack reminds me of the Sims games I love it
Do you have a release schedule?
I wish 😭 my full-time job keeps me busy. I was traveling a lot this last week, but I’ll have Ep2 out in a couple days!
love love love this show! can’t wait for season 2
