Kind of the point of a sword is that you have that whole blade length to use. Since it is only a small blade on a piece of metal, I would rather all that a sword shaped object. Since it wouldn't really save that much weight, and since you can only cut in a very specific place, I would consider this more useful as a club than a word.

The sharpness is only on the tip and the bottom, and it seems like the length of the tip was not enough for slashing. So it will only for cut wound for maximum (as shinobu's blade was meant for poisoning target).

Shinobu has a different technique to kill. This sword is not supposed to "Slice" It's piercing. You are fery lucky to have a sword that some can juat dream to have so use it properly.
A sword like that is made for a reason and should be use with the proper technique for it.
For me, it's just disrespectful to the artist who invented this sword and it's style for a specific character to be used as what the artist said not to.
Its stinger nichirin blade meant for stabbing and stinging.
