    Thanks for sharing such a thorough review. My 11" HP is on it's last leg & the model I have is no longer available, so I've been searching for something portable to replace it.

      I was hesitant to jump from Windows to Chrome OS, but it's been great. I think the performance is much better with Chrome OS, as it's a much lighter OS overall. I wouldn't want this as my main machine, but it's a great secondary option.

    Thank you for this review. I recently purchased the Lenovo 500e Chromebook and tho it hasn't arrived yet, I'm very concerned about the very details you spoke about here, if an education-targeted device could be used for blogging.
    And it can!
    I'm so happy.
    Thank you for this.
    And I hope to see more of your videos in the future.
    (Maybe I could let you know when my blog's up and running 😁)

    Hey man great review very informative and straight to the point but I have 2 questions do you still use the 300e ? And does it worth it to get one now 2022 ?? I found one online 130 us dollars.

    • @beyondtherhetoric
      @beyondtherhetoric  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, I still use it. Battery life isn't as good now, understandably, but it still does everything I need. $130 sounds like a good deal to me.

    Actually, I am looking for my own Chromebook for mail, and text purposes aside from my main computer and I was considering Lenovo 300e gen2 or Dell 3100.
    Maybe you had some experience with the Dell 3100 and could compare them?
    To me, the Dell 3100 has an outstanding, round shape, very similar to the Pixelbook go which had a perfect design IMO.

    • @beyondtherhetoric
      @beyondtherhetoric  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't used the Dell, so I don't really have an opinion there. Good luck with your search!

    • @michal4736
      @michal4736 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@beyondtherhetoric Thanks for the response! Finally, I decided on the Dell 3100 2 in 1, mostly because of the visual design. In Poland, I bought new for like about 100$.
      My goal was to buy a Chromebook for my office work with text, numbers, search for image references etc.
      Maybe someone will be interested in my feelings about this model so I will let me leave a few points:
      - The Chromebook looks really clean, round-shaped and definitely doesn't look cheap (I was totally bored with the generic looks of almost all laptops, which look the same); it has mat plastic with rubbered corners which are really nice in a touch
      - keyboard feels plastic, not the best I have met, it is just ok, enough for the work the office work
      - touchpad feels for me better than the keyboard, it is simple, responsive and I like it; the gestures works really nice
      - speed is more than great, everything clicks and opens without any delay or lag, and any app or chrome web browser with many tabs works perfectly
      - the touchscreen is nice, not the most important thing to me but if it is present, it is a nice addon
      - Chromebook is very portable, I am rather a slim man and I can't say it is heavy
      - the screen is ok, bright enough and fine with colours, its not OLED but it is enough for the office work

    • @beyondtherhetoric
      @beyondtherhetoric  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's fair. I think it depends on usage cases. I'm still getting used to the keyboard shortcuts, for example, and how there's no caps lock key. Are you mostly a Windows or Mac person?

      Got that shirt from the NYC Nintendo store! True, it's not the lightest laptop out there, but I don't find it all that heavy either, especially when you compare it to most larger (13-15 inch) alternatives. I haven't used it myself but the C330 is very similar, but it's not ruggedized, so it should be a little lighter. I'm guessing in the 2.6 lbs. range or so.

      For the price, I'd say that's a great deal. It'll do all the basics for you, as long as you don't expect the world of it. If you plan on streaming video, it helps if you download the video locally first if your service allows that.

    • @beyondtherhetoric
      @beyondtherhetoric  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does okay, but it will depend on how that video is encoded. I've tried playing back video from my camera (about 22Mbps MTS) and it's mostly fine. Watching anything streaming is usually okay too, but that's likely getting bumped to 720 as the display isn't even 1080.
