What do you guys think? Should I head back sometime soon for some of the bigger carp? I definitely think I have a good chance of catching a real nice one with the knowledge I gained over these few sessions! Never give up you know your quarry or you be thinking WHAT IF ...no regrets if u try and fail . But if you dont try youve already failed .tight lines my friend
I zone out when most fishing channels do a lot of talking, but you are actually explaining an adventure and the details matter and keep me interested. Very relatable fishing, love to see it!
Great episode Craig. One of my favourites. And a very mature attitude not to cut down the branches. I love fishing in difficult overgrown swims so totally get it. All the best.
You come across as a very nice and gentle person. I hope you have a nice day. I wish you lived here in N. Italy, I would make you a friend. happy fishing...
Brilliant video Chris those fish looked so healthy especially the tench. Please go after them again and i suggest using a bigger hook and a longer hair from the hook
You're one lucky fella finding such a place to fish. Honestly I'm jealous... You caught some stunning looking fish but the tench was the real beauty. I think I'd still do a bit of work on the bank to make it a little easier to fish but not so much to encourage anyone else. Keep up the great videos they are fun to watch an it looks like you have a real passion for Angling. Hope you manage one of those bigger fish, good luck, tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Great video and loved the fish u were catching u should definitely return to the forgotten carp pond it was very enjoyable to watch. You should try fishing with size 8 hooks for the bigger carp because they have less chance of getting them free from their mouths and the hook holds will be better.👍👍
those two long branches!, just look around for a long fallen branch and use it to prop those over hanging branches up wards giving you more rod space, and that bendy looking branch to your left looks like it could be bent side wards and wrapped around another branch maybe, or even a small wooden peg pushed into the bank to hold it back, hope this helps.
Always watch your videos. Try getting some 6ft dwarf’s rods brilliant for what you are doing I know that because I’ve done that type of carp fishing before. Keep these forgotten ponds videos coming. Love them!!
Brilliant again Chris, that Tench was a cracker. That pond does look great n your videos have got me thinking I need a drone to add to the tackle box 😂 Defo a good shout with the waders was thinking whilst I was watching, could you not take the float tube for something to sit on and extend the bank sticks to keep the rods out the water n get in front of the trees, was thinking a bit like a match angler sets the seat box in the water. Would solve the casting and landing issues with no cutting or pruning would leave the swim wild and off putting for other folk. Tight lines
If, as you say these ponds have never been fished, why use so light tackle? If they've never seen baits, they would not be that wary, go a bit heavier. 4lb line for carp is way too light, the pond looks full of weed, big risk of snagging. Gotta say tho', I do love your channel, mobility issues have more or less killed my fishing days. I started when I was 9 years of age and it has been a constant source of joy, now I'm kicking the arse of 70 and my mobility issues preclude most bankside enjoyment these days. My angling stomping ground was the west midlands canals and park lakes and the the big momma daddy was the River Severn in Shropshire, the Warwickshire Avon and the Wye in Herefordshire. Happy Daze. Thanks for your content, we never caught on lures in our local canals mind!
Love your videos pure entertainment, one suggestion .. if fishing your forgotten lakes and you intend to go in wearing waders , I suggest I the interst of safety you have someone else with you?.. DB West sussex
Brilliant secession on that pond Chris. I have a Pond here that Is the same. Huge Carp and Tench, but also Roach and Perch, and some huge Pike. Plus lots of other species too. Hope the Baby Is on the mend now, so Keep 'Em Coming.
Great vid Chris. I'd say keep the swim wild just step up the gear a bit. Maybe even try dropping a float out at such close range and hopefully you'll get some more spectacular Tench. Bugger the carp!😁😆
Chris, at 02:33 you are making an 'overhead' cast? - your explanation for the video advises you couldn't make one? Lovely dark Common though - and that Tench! - wow!...
Another great video mate! I don't often comment because usually I watch through xbox and it's too much work to type lol, anyway, have you never thought about using a chod rig and messing around with them? Just a thought bro 👏🏻🎣 Tight lines
Good morning Chris! Another superbly crafted film, which I/we thank you for. That tench was 'knockout' result! Do you treat the hook-holds once caught? VBW x
Take a little saw dwn with u an electric trimmer mate cut some them branches down an strum a decent patch out for yourself make a decent little swim for yourself. Yh u may scare the fish but once you got more open space you can be casting out further into the lake maybe take a take a rake end down on some rope and rake few places out . Looks a great place to fish . Id definitely put some time in sorting a swim tho mate
Great change to the feed I really enjoy the channel. Have you thought of using the pallatrax gripz hooks as a substitute for micro barb, just a thought.
I'm with you on the Tench, I prefer them to Carp (Although I do love a good double as well!) Re the hook pulls, I don't use barbed either and avoid micro barb if I can and never use them bigger than a 12. Started using a new type of hook last year, the Pallatrax Gripz which have no barb but ridges on the shank which stop the hook from moving in the mouth whilst coming out like a barbless when the fish is banked. I have lost far fewer fish to hook pulls and even managed to coax Tench out of the pads without the hook falling out, could be worth a try on the pond?
Top video mate, can’t wait to see how you get on with the chest waiders, don’t use barbed hooks though, like you said you will be able to control the fish once your out in the water abit 👍🏼
You'll really struggle to break line over 8lb by leaning the rod into it, you'd need to pull it straight. The only reason I use heavier line for carp fishing is the shock loading on the cast when you're trying to bang a big lead out a fair distance and for added abrasion resistance when playing a fish through weed or snags, a 15lb line will survive a rub against a branch more readily than an 8lb
Interesting fishing....and indeed ..the keeping it wild dilemmas.... frustrating!...the dark ones from the drone coverage... were the tench...Carp fishing is continuing curve...
Try using a drop-off lead set up, when the fish and it shakes the weight it should rise up higher in the water and be less likely to hold deep in the weed
Wow.... The rumble in the jungle. You should name the lake after your new baby. Keep the swim natural to deter other anglers. Will be interesting to see if the waders work although it could knacker your margin swim.
Hi, sorry but its not related to this video, but in a previous one you were using a BFS combo, think it was rated at 2¬10g. You had a link to it in your more listing. It was a set up for mono or braid, rod and reel lh or rh, think the combo was about 160.00. The problem is i cant find the video again for the link, so i can purchase one of the same. i hope you can help me with this, many thanks Jon
I thought where's your wellies - waders - when you were landing some of those fish so you could go in to get them. Be interesting to see what happens next. 🙂
The branch you keep climbing over..put a rope on it and pull it out the way..let it back when you leave. Drop the lead, step up to 18lb line and size 6 or 4.
What do you guys think? Should I head back sometime soon for some of the bigger carp? I definitely think I have a good chance of catching a real nice one with the knowledge I gained over these few sessions!

Definitely more carp! Maybe 20lb line and size 8 hook with a 18mm waffter for the biguns 💪🎣👍
Never give up you know your quarry or you be thinking WHAT IF ...no regrets if u try and fail . But if you dont try youve already failed .tight lines my friend
If you go back use your wadingsuit for floater fishing you can catch them still under your feet
Great fishing Chris next time go more prepared as you say with waders use bigger hooks size 6/8 and and slightly bigger baits 👍 good luck 🤞
Definitely mate. Its brilliant 👌👍
Who else thinks he should spend a day clearing it out and property making a peg to fish it easier? Class video as always
Wow thanks buddy I hope you have a great weekend 💪
I zone out when most fishing channels do a lot of talking, but you are actually explaining an adventure and the details matter and keep me interested. Very relatable fishing, love to see it!
Hi chris. The best sound in the world is hearing the clutch whining. And its rare to see carp these days with lips. Top video yet again.
Absolutely brilliant video Chris A lot of patience must have been required getting all your gear down to that pool and filming etc
Much appreciated 👍
Great episode Craig. One of my favourites.
And a very mature attitude not to cut down the branches. I love fishing in difficult overgrown swims so totally get it.
All the best.

Great effort deserves Great success! U‘ll get there.. greets from Germany
That tench is stunning
The tail on it!
proper Mr Crabtree one. If only he caught it on lobworm.....
It was an impressive male Tench.
That tench. Wow that tench cracking colour n size. Another Bostin video Chris thanx bro tight lines n keep safe 👌👊
Ginge you could literally get so many more views by putting carp in the title and making it a campaign or something, such amazing videos
Enjoyed it mate fantastic thank you 👍🎣🎣🎣

Super carp 👍 fishing ❤
Glad I found your channel through Fish with Carl! Amazing content! love it!

Absolutely loved this video Chris look forward to see going after the bigger ones
Fantastic video and yes please head out there again
Tight lines 🎣🍻
Always enjoy chris 👍
Brilliant. Wetted my tastebuds to get back into fishing (and matches) following you over the last couple of years👍
those two long branches!, just look around for a long fallen branch and use it to prop those over hanging branches up wards giving you more rod space, and that bendy looking branch to your left looks like it could be bent side wards and wrapped around another branch maybe, or even a small wooden peg pushed into the bank to hold it back, hope this helps.
Grafting.. good effort. Look forward to seeing the next episode of the forgotten...
Excellent video, as always Chris. You take us with you on your sessions, and it's such fun. Thank you.
Brilliant once again Chris that aerial footage shows some real beauties in there. And I’m pretty sure u will not give up till u catch them😉👍🏻
although im more into my predator fishing this is a nice switch up seeing these forgotten lakes you've found great vid!!
Would definitely like to see more of this, makes a change from your usual fishing. Definitely make a campaign of it and try to find some monster fish.
Always watch your videos. Try getting some 6ft dwarf’s rods brilliant for what you are doing I know that because I’ve done that type of carp fishing before. Keep these forgotten ponds videos coming. Love them!!
That’s a place well worth fishing Chris. Plenty of fish too .
Brilliant again Chris, that Tench was a cracker.

Well done lovely fishing at it's best thanks.
Cracking episode
Love how you explained your thoughts
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁✌️🤞
Ps stunning tench
G'day Chris, awesome Tench and Carp .👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great angling.. I dream of spots like this! local hidden gems
Love tench fishing! 🔥
Chris, at 02:33 you are making an 'overhead' cast? - your explanation for the video advises you couldn't make one? Lovely dark Common though - and that Tench! - wow!...
That place is amazing.
I'd definitely bring a saw next time to make it a bit easier to try hook and play them it would be easier that or Wade like you said!! 👌👍🎣
Another great video mate! I don't often comment because usually I watch through xbox and it's too much work to type lol, anyway, have you never thought about using a chod rig and messing around with them? Just a thought bro 👏🏻🎣 Tight lines
Nice piece! Stick out a dead bait for the chance of a surprise eel or whatever. A friend I was fishing with caught a Rudd on a Rudd dead bait.
Lovely common, looks like a fairly old fish, terrific video mate, smashed it.
Drop the lead mate and you will have a much better chance of getting them bigger carp in 👍 great vid keep them coming
Awesome video

Chris epic fish. Tip try feeder fishing for the carp you might catch more and try get an inflatable boat so you can fish Fever out
Was well impressed with your size 24 lure m8 top job 👏
Great video as usual Chris, how do you find these forgotten places? the sort of fishing i love but very restricted to venues.
Brilliant tutorial keep the swims snaggy no sawing trees keep it wild m8❤
Great change to the feed I really enjoy the channel.

I'll second that, great hooks
Top video mate, can’t wait to see how you get on with the chest waiders, don’t use barbed hooks though, like you said you will be able to control the fish once your out in the water abit 👍🏼
Nice Carp!
I’ve fished weedy waters and a longer hair rig always prevented hook pulls. About 10-15mm between bend of hook and bait
I enjoy this format.
I reckon if you get a chance on the coast you should try for mullet. When you eventually hook one, the fight is explosive.
What sunglasses do you use? Looking for some polarised glasses and don’t know what to go for
Nice one
Worth spending more time on the secret squirrel lake.great video, nice 1
Cracking tench kid
👍👍👍👍. Great and thanks
Hi Chris enjoyed the video, question could you cut the branches down in the winter time, but no video and dont tell us you did it would that work?
That first fish "what a beautiful fish!"
Um, no 😂
hi mate have you tried gripz barbless hooks?? debating weather to give them a go...
100 percent get back on it fantastic
Can I ask were did you get your tattoo as it looks so good and I want a fox tattoo would really like to know as it is really 👍
You'll really struggle to break line over 8lb by leaning the rod into it, you'd need to pull it straight. Any recommendations for an off-road electric bike? Thankyou!
That black common looks so sick!
Glad you realised to try with waders. I was sat there for the last 10 minutes thinking waders would sort that out. Good luck next time.
Love a good Tench well done mate
Interesting fishing....and indeed ..the keeping it wild dilemmas.... frustrating!...the dark ones from the drone coverage... were the tench...Carp fishing is continuing curve...
The drone shot big fish where definitely....... carp...... and not tench...,.!!!!!
Try using a drop-off lead set up, when the fish and it shakes the weight it should rise up higher in the water and be less likely to hold deep in the weed
Brilliant video 👍
Should take some cutting tools and open up some areas. Just small areas and maybe a small path?
Wow.... The rumble in the jungle.
You should name the lake after your new baby.
Keep the swim natural to deter other anglers.
Will be interesting to see if the waders work although it could knacker your margin swim.
Hi Chris what's the name and model drone you use plz.
Any big canal carp videos in the pipeline?
Hi, sorry but its not related to this video, but in a previous one you were using a BFS combo, think it was rated at 2¬10g. You had a link to it in your more listing. It was a set up for mono or braid, rod and reel lh or rh, think the combo was about 160.00. I thought where's your wellies - waders - when you were landing some of those fish so you could go in to get them. Be interesting to see what happens next. 🙂
Looks like that rig was closing the gape of the hook maybe that was due to some of the hook pulls?
Waders could be the way. Or try a simple chod rig, usually really effective in weed or deep silt
I'm after an electric bike for this same reason! Lol. Have to check out the Zebra now.
I am from Romania. Where is this pond?
What landing net head are you using ? It looks just what I'm looking for
Nice fishing mate, I’d be taking one of those battery powered mini chainsaws with me next time I went.
size 6-8 barbed widegape. you'll be right then. they dont deep hook like llittle fish so you dont do much damage.
Want to see you lure fishing for pike on the canal
The branch you keep climbing over..put a rope on it and pull it out the way..let it back when you leave. Drop the lead, step up to 18lb line and size 6 or 4.
Take care with the wadeing...
That Carp likes you. You are best fishy friends.
Deffo go back bro 👊❤️
Cracking video mate🙂
Drop the lead on the take you’ll get more in the net 😂😂😂
