This verse from Surah Taubah is very often quoted by critics of Islam, to show that Islam promotes violence, bloodshed and brutality:
“Kill the mushriqeen (pagans, polytheists, kuffar) where ever you find them.” [Al-Qur’an 9:5]
1. Context of verse is during battlefield
Critics of Islam actually quote this verse out of context. In order to understand the context, we need to read from verse 1 of this surah. It says that there was a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Mushriks (pagans) of Makkah. This treaty was violated by the Mushriks of Makkah. A period of four months was given to the Mushriks of Makkah to make amends. Otherwise war would be declared against them. Verse 5 of Surah Taubah says:
“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [Al-Qur’an 9:5]
This verse is quoted during a battle.
2. Example of war between America and Vietnam
We know that America was once at war with Vietnam. Suppose the President of America or the General of the American Army told the American soldiers during the war: “Wherever you find the Vietnamese, kill them”. Today if I say that the American President said, “Wherever you find the Vietnamese, kill them” without giving the context, I will make him sound like a butcher. But if I quote him in context, that he said it during a war, it will sound very logical, as he was trying to boost the morale of the American soldiers during the war.
3. Verse 9:5 quoted to boost morale of Muslims during battle
Similarly in Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 5 the Qur’an says, “Kill the Mushriks wherever you find them”, during a battle to boost the morale of the Muslim soldiers. What the Qur’an is telling Muslim soldiers is, don’t be afraid during battle; wherever you find the enemies kill them.
5. and in the same Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer to the allegation that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed. It says:
“If one amongst the pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure that is because they are men without knowledge.” [Al-Qur’an 9:6]
The Qur’an not only says that a Mushrik seeking asylum during the battle should be granted refuge, but also that he should be escorted to a secure place. In the present international scenario, even a kind, peace-loving army General, during a battle, may let the enemy soldiers go free, if they want peace. But which army General will ever tell his soldiers, that if the enemy soldiers want peace during a battle, don’t just let them go free, but also escort them to a place of security?
This is exactly what Allah (swt) says in the Glorious Qur’an to promote peace in the world.
Many verses of the Quran, including 9:29, were revealed when an event occured. Unlike the Bible and most religious scriptures, the Quran does not record the circumstances that leads to a verse being revealed. The people at the time of the revelation would know what the revelation means (because they were facing the circumstances that led to the verse being revealed), but later people would have to refer to hadith and history to understand what went on at that time.
Prior to this verse being revealed, the Prophet had sent an emissary, Al-Harith ibn Umair Al-Azdi on an errand to carry a letter to the ruler of Busra. (we still have the letter today it’s an historical evidence that the prophet sent several letters to kings and rulers outside the Arabian Peninsula to invite them to Islam peacefully)On his way, he was intercepted by Sharhabeel ibn Amr Al-Ghassani, the governor of Al-Balqa and a close ally to Caesar, the Byzantine Emperor. Al-Harith was tied and beheaded by Al-Ghassani.
Following this, the Muslims sent an army of 3,000 to Balqa to seek revenge. However, they were badly outnumbered and eventually had to withdraw. This was the battle of Mu’tah.
The Romans then decided to take the battle to Madinah and began to gather a huge army of the Byzantines and pro-Roman Ghassanite tribes to launch a decisive bloody battle against the Muslims
It was at this point that verse 9:29 was revealed, to order the Muslims to prepare for battle. Consequently, the Muslims gathered an army of about 40,000 men and waited for the Romans in Tabuk.
When the Romans heard of the numerical strength of the Muslim army, they changed their mind about attacking the Muslims.
Verse 9:29 is not a general order to fight against Christians. It was a specific order to defend against the Romans.
Verse 9:29 must be read together with other verses of the Quran, such as the following:
If the enemy inclines to peace, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Verily, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing. (8:61)
So if they remove themselves from you and do not fight you and offer you peace, then Allah has not made for you a cause for fighting against them. (4:90)
the Quran 60:8 says that those who didn’t fight you because of religion do not take you out of your home you should be good and just towards them because Allah loves those who are just ,2:190 and those who fight you and do not transgress Allah doesn’t love those who transgress So The Quran is explicit and clear the Quran says 5:32 if you kill an innocent soul as if you killed all of Humanity and if you save one innocent soul as if you saved all Humanity
the last verse is from his own mind There’s NO verse in the Quran that says God brought your life to slay and be slain , The noble verse in Surat Al-Ahzab verse 35 has stated a number of qualities that Muslims must possess, in the Almighty’s saying: {Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.} study about the manners that We can learn from the Quran instead of listening to liars Actually the bible says kill the children and women and Animals

We need to think about the fact that our God is a jealous God (which is a good thing). He's not going to destroy anything that gets in the way of His relationship with His people.
Also...we should have the same kind of jealousy for our families, if anything or anyone attacks them, destroy the threat.

The 'aurah', which are parts of the body that must be covered in front of people who are not your close family is for women, face and palms. For a man, it is from the navel to the knee. So you can wear shorts but more like bermuda shorts that cover the knee.
But all of these are details and Grayson is correct in saying that the main thing is belief in the ONE GOD. Of course as you learn you will understand why you also need to believe that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the final messenger. After you declare your shahadah, you will soon learn and adapt to the Islamic way of life. But if you have so many issues with so many little details without affirming your belief and commitment in the main principle of Islam, you have a long way to go ie learn more, ask more ... But at the end of the day, no matter how much you study, only Allah SWT can open your heart to Islam.

Boss you should understand that quran send to us (as the mankind) to put the law too, that is a part of quran too, who protect our live so that eye for eye.. it is the law but not the actual happen as long as you forgive but as afairness , god send the law as it is, to the human , if eye not for eye that will not be the fair law and that is too not against the tolerance
