The term "SpaHa" just spits in the face of the community that lives here currently, which is pretty apt, considering its a curruption of the history of this neighborhood and the people associated with the name Spanish Harlem for the sake of sanatizing its image for rich transplants. Im suprised they didn't go all out and try ElBa for El Barrio 💀
This needs more views! As a 50+ year new yorker, I've settled in Tubby Hook. What?! What a ridiculous name! Oh wait, they got the 1 train here and the developers changed it to Inwood, Manhattan. Long time ago, but it was for the better.

Interestingly, two different name origins! May have been inspired by the London one but that’s hard to prove definitively
