    You didn't mention what is probably the most polarizing aspect of Panasonic and Olympus (officially, I guess, OM System). That's the Micro 4/3 format. Some people love it for its compactness and its tremendous focal length reach. Others despise it for its supposed low-light non-performance and heavy crop factor up close. I'm experimenting with it. So far I like it. I hope that very soon everyone will dump it hard, and all the M4/3 cameras and lenses I want will be available for peanuts. So please, keep telling your viewers how awful it is.

    Panasonic user here. Using my camera in professional settings I just couldn't opt for a Sony due to the overheating issues. The active cooling in the S5II was a huge bonus for me. I also love the non crippling of non-native lenses. With the Sigma 150-600 I can shoot 30fps burst with a teleconverter. The rolling shutter is also considerably better than my Canon R7. In all areas these camera offer great spec and performance at much more wallet friendly prices. 😊

    I'm photo-first and I'm pretty wedded to Canon. Sony cameras used to feel like tiny POS's but the recent ones are better ergonomically. I'm jealous of Sony's lens selection but not enough to change. Canon and OM Systems feel the best in my hand.
    Nikon cameras are nice but their AF lags, except for the Z8 and Z9. Those are both huge bodies; the mirrorless Z8 is as big as a Canon 5D Mark IV. It's also very easy to switch a Canon from photo to video and back just by hitting the record button. My results only. Yours may vary.

    • @Vantrakter
      @Vantrakter 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sony cameras "feel like tiny POS's" and the better Nikon cameras are "huge" in a negative way? Good for you if your wedding partner creates cameras of the right size for you.
      I've kept with Sony since they became a thing in 2006 and have never felt a need to switch. Lately their A7c line is what I want in a camera and Canon has nothing like it.

    • @jonathanscherer8567
      @jonathanscherer8567 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      OM System is fairly competent as far as AF goes, but only for photos. It will randomly lose hold in video. I'm not sure why that is. As video is of secondary priority for me, I live with it. I think the color science is very nice. It's not quite up there with my G7, but nothing since has had that perfect science out of camera. I agree that their cameras feel really nice to hold. They're ergonomic and easy to use, other than OM-1s menu button placement. That being on the left side makes little sense.
      The Z8 and Z9 are two things that make me wonder about switching systems. They're very nice and have so much potential. I probably should've stuck with Canon, as I used them years ago, but then got into Panasonic and MFT. That's kept me sidetracked for years now! I really wonder if there's a perfect camera. Each has pros and cons. I don't know why the companies don't listen to the photography community more. It's not as if it's very big these days. They could do better, overall. For every positive a new model has, there seem to be several negatives. That said, there are no truly bad cameras that I see. Each has the potential to take great photos. As for video, I'll leave that for those with more experience to judge.

      And yet, they're still number 3 in the market. What Nikon needs to get is, one or two good cameras a system doesn't make. They did this back when they had the D90, 300, 700, D3. Then they lost the plot. Let's hope they get back there & realise this time around, that it takes more. I love my R8, but I'm still waiting for the Canon answer to the Z30. Just an M6II but RF mount - R60 or R9 if you will. Just a video-focused, detachable EVF cousin to the gigantic sports and wildlife R7. The second aps-c body to have IBIS. Keep it small so we can rig it out, and give those magic lantern nerds something new to work with. Then bring back the 22f2 pancake and a nice compact 12f2.8 lens.
    Also a G7XIV but this time with DPAF. It's still almost the perfect camera.

    For me, when talked about Canon, the picture look softer with sweet color but sometime a bit bland (according to one of my acquaintance they produce the poorest look pictures on 4x6 print), Nikon is sharp with somewhat bright and colorful picture, Sony is sharp and vibrant though their color is more tamed than Nikon, Fuji have faithful color with the look not so bright and greenish tint, Olympus is somewhat on the yellow to red tone, and Pentax have neutral color that look more stiff than other brand, don't know about Panasonic, but overall I like Kodak color science the most but they don't produce camera anymore.
    However, I only have cameras from any of these companies that released in and before 2012, their color science seem to already changed in modern camera but my impression of their cameras is still lied in what their 2000s products did.

    I'm surprised Olympus/OM-Sys is as good as it is for video. They're kind of like a mirrorless Pentax, 95% Photo focus and the last 5% is there for video just because the sensor can capture video. Ok, maybe not that bad, maybe 90/10 for Oly/OM and like 99/1 for Pentax.
    Those are the two brands I mainly use for work and personal with an E-M5.iii, E-P5, KP, K-1.ii, and 645z. G9 is in there too after giving my E-M1.iii to my work partner. I also do zero video, so the limitations don't bother me. If I did video, I'd probably just upgrade the G9 to a G9.ii since I have a big collection of MFT pro glass. I also have a fp L with L-mount Sigma, but I shoot that mostly in APS-C (if not that medium ~25mp size, don't need 61mp majority of the time, and it improves the eshutter a bit) with a mix of Sigmas compact FF glass and APS-C on L-mount.
