Bravo for the addition of history and geography of the featured country of "your Dad's stamps" !!! Thanks for sharing these stamps with us ! Have a wonderful 2o25 !
🎉Very interesting look at Brazilian stamps. It was the Conquistadors that conquered the Aztec and Inca empires and shaped most of South America as it is today.
The Americas seem to be an under appreciated region for collecting. I recently picked up a stock book of mainly Argentina and Chile. Your episode was a nice walk through of your father’s Brazilian collection. It was nice to hear you include some of the enslaved history; I think most folks in our part of the world (since we live in the same part of the world) are unaware of the massive amount of enslavement outside of the United States. We all seem to be aware of enslavement in the southern U.S. but not elsewhere, including right in our own country. Anyway, all the best headed into the new year. I hope to make the trek to a Moncton stamp show soon👍
Hi Rob! Thank you for this great video of Brazilian stamps, I collect them as well, starting 1889 with the Southern Cross and ending somewhere in the 80´s.... I would keep the calendar on my desk until Easter or so, just for fun! Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful 2025!
Great video with lots of good information. Thank you. Regarding the calendar, I would use it only for December (and maybe up to 6 January (when Christmas traditionally ends) because the hedgehog has a Santa hat. If you use it for the whole year, it stops being so special. Just my penny's worth.
That's a pretty good selection of Brazilian stamps. Some of the definitive sets are difficult to catalogue due to the somewhat obscure watermarks found on them.
Hi Rob! Great video! I really loved and appreciated the geography and history you added to showing the stamps of the country. I learned a tremendous lot. I know almost nothing of the South American countries. I liked the newer stamps (mint) a bit more. I think the date calendar fits in December with the Christmas theme. I don't think I would have used it for the entire year. That is just my personal opinion. I think it all depends on what you want.🙂
I always think of Brazil stamps as ugly and crude (wood block carvings vs. fine engravings) ... and also frustrating because there are so many variations that don't fit in the Scott album pages that I have. The dull colors don't help. That is one country i need to use blank pages to design spots for all the similar looking stamps they produced. It looks like the oldest ones were the best quality for many years to come. Looking forward to you covering different countries and providing the history. Yay!
@@Martha-q8p1b there are lots of series of stamps but also some really interesting ones in my view of my father’s collection. I am sure government changes didn’t help in some of the years though
Yes sir I like the new format. Very nice work as always buddy. South Carolina says thanks buddy, 👍

Christmas in July
@@Christopher-zf1ng so is that one vote for yes :)?
@thatdadguy1974 yes . What would Christmas in July be without a hedgehog. Lol

Talks too much about nothing
Would you prefer more silent videos just showing the stamps instead?
