Cheers friend we just subscribed after your video found us . We love making beer, growing some hops, making mead and different wines and others on our channel , stay thirsty and make good mead ,black raspberry sounds awesome.
PH levels for acid balance, and tannin for mouth feel can go a long way towards making excellent Meades. There are non fermentable sugars to adjust sweetness before bottling. There should be no need to bottle a year before drinking. Aged Meade really can mellow, and improve over time, but I have enjoyed really nice Meade after five or six weeks.
I appreciate your feedback. I’ve been working on that, and volume of my voice as well. I’m getting better and I will continue to improve. Thanks for watching and I hope you stay around.
I just re-edited the original video, with increased volume and no music. I would love it if you viewed a few minutes to see if it is better. Again--thanks for the feedback! th-cam.com/video/AXJaGPQr5JQ/w-d-xo.html
Mixed with vodka for preservation and it smells like plastic. It's really the strangest thing and I can't find any info about it. Don't know what to do. Stored in glass for 1.5 years. Taste meh but not terrible. Smell tho....strange plastic smell. ??

Welcome! Black raspberry is my favorite-luckily I have a big patch!
Thanks for the video, very informative ❤
Thank you!
It looks fantastic!
Thank you!
Jeepers, I can barely hang on to my brews for more than a couple of months. Bet its really good after a year!
It is so good! I just opened my elderberry mead the other day and it was smooth and delicious.
Must u store it in the fridge after bottling so that it can last for more than a year?
No, it is shelf stable like any wine.

I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for the advice.
Didn't know there's Raspberry that was black! XD
Other than that it looks good love to have pint!
Yes! They are native to most of eastern North America and are the best tasting raspberry as far as I’m concerned! 😋
Just found your channel. Great information, thank you. Music overlay is a huge detriment for me.

I made some and the fruit flavor was gone. I was told to put fruit in the secondary after fermentation.
You can do both. Mine still had good fruit flavor.
Do you make this mead commercially or for personal use?
Just for personal use.

I made a black raspberry extract with vodka in a glass jar. It is delicious.
@@GrowCookPreserveWithKellyDawn well isn't that fantastic?!!
did use a skillet for the raspberry?? or just mashed em
They were frozen, which replaced heating them up (to break down cells), then mashed.
@@GrowCookPreserveWithKellyDawn thank u and u just used what was in the strainer?
@@franceso32 yes. I’ve also used smashed whole berries too, but this method works great and eliminates any waste.
