Hey everyone, apologies for delayed uploads, making a banger edit for S1 JJK finale and also compiling clips for my S2 VS edit! We grindin, just bear with me! And also... CANUTE HAS PULLED UP!!!!!!
Thank you Shoxbha, and yeah it hasn’t been so smooth but we’ll be alright in due time!! I appreciate your patience big time and your willingness to jump on the new upload 🙏🏼🔥 means the world!
@@officialswanii its nothing. I look forward to your videos. I love your analysis. I appreciate you for being super humble, funny and intelligent. I hope things get better and your ac works lol🤣🤣 Love Tunji
The dark forest through which Arnheid passes is a symbol of the real world, full of suffering, while the beautiful male deer and wolf that appear there represent Einar and Thorfinn, respectively.🦌
Yo man, I've been following you since a few months now and I just wanted to say that you have a great open mind for the reactions and the following discussion ! (And you really motivate me to grow my hairs again, wich is really hard with curly hairs) Maybe my wording isn't perfect cause english isn't my main language but I hope it was understandable. Have a great day man !
Hey Samuel, I’m glad you’ve been liking the videos and I appreciate you stickin with me for all this time!! I’d definitely recommend growing your hair out, just to see what it looks like at its longest! I’m sure it’ll look even better than mine because you have curly hair, lucky! Your English is great and I understand it perfectly, thank you for the strong words Samuel!! I hope you have a great day too!! :) ❤️
It makes sense that we didn't get to see the Thorfinn and Leif reunion due to the Arnheid situation. You can see that they were already together in the last episode
A cool symbolic moment I think you'll like. As Canute leaves his boat and enters the farm, the arrows the Jomsvikings shot resemble fields of wheat representing how as Canute arrives he brings war and death
The Jomsvikings being able to hit the farm defenders from the boats is indeed a sign of their proficiency - but I think another unspoken aspect here is that Canute is King of England at this point, which means he has access to other technologies - including Longbows.
12:46 It’s not just about arm strength either. To get the highest horizontal range, in physics, you need to shoot the object at an angle of 45 degrees. The closer to it, the better. So Canute’s army is not just strong, they are experienced archers too. Calibrating the direction according to the wind may be a factor too, but I don’t have any knowledge about it so I can’t say much on that. Keep up the good work!
To me it's not about justifying Ketil's actions but rather acknowledging the fascinating juxtaposition we have between him and Thorfinn. We at this point see Thorfinn as a good person - but this is after he's killed HUNDREDS of people, including women, children, and slaves - for *no reason* not even in anger or because they did something to make him snap. It's not to say "Ketil is good" or "Thorfinn is evil" it's just that it brings to the forefront some really fascinating things about how we view morality and the way the weight of our judgements can shift depending on our personal feelings about a person. What Ketil did was evil; yet he still has the capacity to be a good person and to change for the better even after such a horrific act - if Thorfinn could do so after the weight of sins over one hundred times worse.
Ketil is the ultimate coward, he takes credit for other peoples accomplishments, he doesnt stand up for what he believes in and when things collapse around him he lashes out on the most vulnerable person on the farm. Theres nothing wrong with being a coward as long as your behavior doesnt endanger other people...
The forest is a metaphor for the real world (kinda similar to the one in Attack on Titan), its terrible but there are still people trying to survive there (Einar is the Stag and Thorfinn the Wolf)
A lot of people don't consider that Arnheid was literally a s*x slave to Ketil. She didn't want to be there, she had no choice. She is forcibly pregnant with his child that he then beat into for trying to leave with the man she was stolen from. The others were given the opportunity to buy their freedom (which in of itself isn't even true kindness as much as it is basic decency disguised as cheap philanthropy), but Ketil was never going to let Arnheid go. People give Ketil too much credit, it concerns me. Not only is his mental break not an excuse but he was always scummy. Too many people say "sign of the times" when referring to his slaves, but that's a non-point imo. Every decent person in the show despises slavery.
Tbf being a wage slave isn't really that different. Except today you have to work even longer in many cases. You got a boss/an authority who can discard you anytime. It just looks different today than it did back then. Thorfinn and Einar got lucky with Ketil, Arnheid didn't unfortunately.
@@beastvicious8672 You don't sleep in a stable as a wage slave. You get to eat proper meals and bathe properly. Above all else, you still have the freedom to do as you please and go where you please when you're off work. It's difficult to not understate how suffocating not having freedom is. It's enough to drive someone insane. It's not the same at all, and why "ethical slavery" has never been accepted as okay in modern day. True, it's possible Thorfinn and Einar could have gotten a much worse slavemaster, but that doesn't excuse Ketil himself
you keep saying you're expecting a massive fleet - they are attacking a farmstead not a fortress or city XD I guess there's something to be said of totally overwhelming what you're going after but tactically that's a gross waste of resources - that'd be like using a tomahawk cruise missle to take out an anthill when some bug spray does just fine lol
1...I find it interesting with the wording of Snake. He said he didn't "look" (not saying that this ketil was the real iron fist) the phrase kinda had a double meaning to me. it was as if iron fist had a different look to Snake. To him, iron fist must had looked like the old Thorfinn in a way; with blood lust and hatred in his eyes. And this ketil was more innocent to all of that. 2. Theory time. remember how Snake's men all have animal names? they weren't just any animals, they were animals that are known to be around farm land and people. crazy enough is that they tend to thrive better around us too. And another one is when Arnaid was looking at the wolf and male dear. I believe that they were suppose to be Thorfinn and Enair. Wolf: mystery and a powerful being yet not much of threat to human and are in fact really peaceful. While dears/bucks: strong, fearful, majestic yet gentle and sensitive to the world around them. These two also live by humans side. but doesn't really need them or are independent of them (witch can be a reference to being freemen) but at the same time, they tend to come around humans a lot. for these reasons, we tend to "like" them and have stories about them. I think Arnaid was saying that she always felt safe and at peace with them because they were like freedom to her. Just think of all the time she spent with them, it was like she found a family again. So she called them the "light" 3. The butterfly reference represent Canute. Butterflies are meant to symbolize death and rebirth.... The fact that Olmar couldn't kill the thing was a foreshadow in a way. He wasn't ready to take on a force that was way above him. why the man in the hood killed the butterfly (we all knew that he wouldn't be able to kill Canute, but it was more than that.) The man was far more skillful and he just prove that Canute's men are not to be played with.
bro i thought u missed in the last ep that they reunited, leif and thorfinn after arnheid got beat up, they were together in the room with arnheid i was surprised u didnt say nothin bout it but now i think u somehow missed it idk how but yeah, correct me if im wrong
They do skip the reunion moment though the point is they just show them in the same room together without the catharsis of seeing them see each other initially.
We’re approaching my favorite last stretch of a series/season (maybe other than AoT S3P2). Can’t wait to see how you process the next events. I really hope you try and replace this show with another one. Violet Evergarden is a great one, only 12 eps and gut-wrenching. Maybe Death Note if you haven’t seen it? Or you can start a long one like Hunter x Hunter.
16:35 I think it's the wrong approach to say that snake's men are scumbags or not because they are both at the same time. On one hand they are loyal to their cause, on the other hand they also would pillage and rape if they could. People can be saints and monsters at the same time.
Attack On Titan spoilers from 5:20 - 6:07
If anyone hasn't already, watch Attack On Titan.
Yes!!! Preciate this!!!

Ahhhh gotcha!! Thank you!!! Yeah Thorfinns definitely the wolf and Einar is for sure the buck 🤣 love that!
The wolf and deer coexisting trying to make the best life that they can in that toxic forest.

Want my advice on the next anime?😅
Thorfinn didnt chose to be a slave it was a punishment for attacking the king

I think Snake says they ARE scumbags in episode 17. But they definitely don't have no redeeming features or sense of loyalty
