Every time the players fight with each other over if Starbane is a good guy or not, Mark gains an extra year of life
From what we now know, Starbane seems to be what's called an "antivillain", which is sort of the opposite of an "antihero". An antivillain will have stereotypically heroic traits and goals, but his methods to attain said goals are evil. Two quick examples I can grab off the top of my head are Lordgenome from Gurren Lagann (brutally oppressing humankind in order to protect them from total extinction by the Antispiral) and Cable in "Deadpool 2" (traveling back in time to _murder a child_ who would grow up to be responsible for a terrible future).

Just a quick point on Nova's speech about telling people like the Sky Prince that Starbane is back, however on a recent rewatch of this series Mark said that Hespa was aware of Quill meeting Starbane and that he has made the relevant people, including the other God's who told their champions, aware of the situation. He also said that the sky prince was aware of Starbane's return.
Though I am pretty sure Nova and the rest of the party are just forgetting that fact but one thing to note is that Quill observed that in his own visions. So an in roleplay reason for it is Quill has not disclosed that information to the rest of the party. Though I am sure he would if he remembered that was a thing or if he realized they did not know, it is really just them being forgetful.
@@wylerI yh it is them just being forgetful since I know the party remarked on him being able to see something a god couldn't and Nova theorised maybe because it had to do with a world outside of the cradle Hespa couldn't see it, he definitely told them, it was when they went to the Angel Sheriff and the old guy was there who also had the same vision

@@alstonjacobs4934 I'm pretty sure Kim was referring to the Prince of Gusthaven since that is the only one we have seen. Also I'm not sure the rest of the them would have the title sky prince they probably have individual titles considering the only other leader we have heard about is the Phoenix woman who leads horizon and she would not be called sky prince
@@a.garcha199 I was't referring to what Kim said I was referring to the fact Hespa said they sky princes know. With there being 5 other countries lead by a royal line there is a fair chance its not just one person called the sky prince so it doesn't mean the Gusthaven leader knows. His action also shown that he doesn't based on the fact that so much resourced is put to getting the wind barrons and nothing to Starbane

2:17:10 I really love how Kim portrays Nova. Man, she went full "Nova is a naive bookworm", and she stands by it. Nova's idea of "we should tell everyone so we can all unite under one common goal" is dangerously naive. And Kim is going full power on it, because Nova is like that. I'm very interested to see how far she will push this however detrimental to the group that could be.
Hopefully over time she will lose some of that naivety but she needs that naivety now.
I both agree and disagree with liking it. They literally just had this conversation a couple of ingame days ago where it was agreed they wouldn't tell everyone because it wouldn't help and the gods had already told people. Not to mention they've had the same conversation multiple times before, but Kim just keeps arguing until people see things her way. I find it very frustrating and disrespectful personally.
@@asherandai1000 Ah, I didn't say it wasn't frustrating. I didn't say it isn't a bit "the i in TEAM is in the a-hole". I said I find it an amazing commitment. We all know people like that, so roleplaying that isn't too far from what we know IRL. I would NEVER do that in a game, personally. I think we all should be team players, and that's quite disrupting. But to see someone so committed to the character ideal/goals is noteworthy. To me, at least. And I'm excited to see where this goes. Nova BBEG confirmed? haha
@@tenebraebr I agree we all know people like that in IRL... in fact I'd go so far as to say probably one of the reasons I personally find it so incredibly off-putting is because I kind of think that might be me if I was in a similar position to her (except I'd be more on the side of killing enemies rather than trying to avoid fighting them like these guys often do).
And yes, the in-character commitment stuff is what I like and why I said "I both agree and disagree" overall.
But...I agree with Nova. I think telling people so they can prepare would be the right call. They just have to find people they can trust.

I loved the way Kim played Nova after Quill and Sentry’s deaths - slowly learning that the world can be a cruel place and starting to get her head out of the books. Now Kim seems to be forgetting that and reverting back to her old ways. It’s a shame.

Theory:
Starbane tried to reason with other planets/civilization about Hadar, but they didn't listen, there were like: "naww, we fine. We have this super-ultra weapon/shield, we will take care of our selves."
And knowing power of Hadar, he knew, they didn't have a chance separate, so he decided: "I don't wanna lose more time convincing these idiots, I will concur them and use their resources."
Which he did.
And he didn't come to Aerois to kill, he came for some kind of resources. Not to slaughter everyone, which is stupid assumption.
And they all knew, that one of biggest Aerosian citizen slaughter were done actually by local gods, children of Siasca. I mean, who split the continent? Which buried some people alive, some drown and some died on flouting islands, because didn't have resources to survive.
I mean war is horrible, but I am pretty sure half of the dead at that time, were killed by their own.
He wanted the world heart: the very thing that powers Aerois. If they got that then all of aerois would of died. You could argue that all inhabitants of aerois could be transported to a different plain. But to where . And I don’t think most people would be ok with that
Didn’t the priestess who brought Quill back literally tell him the Sky Prince already knew about Starbane?? Did I imagine that or something cause they constantly argue about whether they should have told him but he already knows!

Nova really irritates me, but I appreciate that she has opinions on whether starbane is good or bad and which causes the team to have a little more internal conflict and really broadens her character.

Finally caught up! Started on Lightfall a few months ago, now I'm here.
Really tiring hearing them discuss telling people about starbane, when the priestess in gusthaven told them, that the champions of the gods and the leaders of the world were already informed by the gods. She specifically said, that the prince knew and Nova and the others fight over telling him for what feels like hours. Keep your notes in order, guys, come on.
Right help me out here - correct me if I’m wrong but these guys didn’t actually BRING starbane back did they?
I mean yeh, vallar opened the portal but from what starbane said he was already planning his return etc

I'm confused, why are they acting as though they brought Starbane back? I was under the impression that he was working on coming back and he's on his ship somewhere out in space and Vala somehow moved the gate portal to his ship out of the coordinates being ingrained in her somehow, but if they tell anyone anything all they need to say is that his forces are working in Aerois and he may be coming back soon. Just saying, "The gods say we need to prepare, Star Band's forces have been working to bring him back, and we need to be readying ourselves to stop him from getting through or right him if he does get through."
Nova is frustrating me because she keeps saying "He's back" as if he was ever gone. I figure Star Bane has been working his plans the whole time, the only difference is now they know it.
Mostly because the Cradle is a barrier that has held Starbane back for centuries.
And the effect upon the sahuagin here is the first evidence of any action on his part since they spoke with him at the gateway.
And a lot of his efforts seem to be directly involved with fighting Hadar rather than returning to Aerois.

does anyone else think that the body of the goddess that made the sacrifice for the cradle is the statue? it seems as if Mark dropped hints that Yama Lo'tai is the place where it happened, and she most likely could be rejuvenated via her children all using their magic. AKA: the chosen of each god channeling into her. But they would have to have sentry also channel; magic as being a remnant of her magic. yet they would need the essence of the cradle which would destroy the cradle but return the star-mother to life.

On the one hand, I think Nova has a point: Starbane is just going to get stronger and get more allies/servants. The party is going to need allies but will that be possible, in the end, if they keep the Starbane stuff to themselves? On the other hand, I agree they can't really trust anyone either, what with how every other person Brookstones them. Well it seems that way.. I would not have trusted the sky prince either.
It is a delicate decision and shouting like Nova does about this all dosent help.They ultimately should talk and be honest with right people.WHEN they gain their trust.Not come out with it immidietly and just be branded a crazy dangerious group shouting coming of a evil god and end of era as new war comes
Maybe so but all of them are so scared to tell anyone.. there has been plenty of people they can trust they just don't say anything. I haven't finished the episode yet but if they don't tell the baroness they are just making bad choices at that point considering Mark clearly said they are fighting against the court of shadows.
They've already had this conversation multiple times. Telling people willy-nilly will just cause mass panic and everyone should know how bad things get when that happens, it'll only make everything worse. Additionally they've already spoken to the gods who have told them that the people who need to know have already been told. It's been well established by players, NPC's, Gods, and the DM that telling people will only make things worse. But of course it's not what Kim wants so this keeps getting brought up over and over and over and will keep getting brought up till Kim gets her way if the past is any indication.
Yeah I keep forgetting that hesper said the people who need to know already know... Shrouded in mystery though because unless those 'in the know' tell the party so, the party may never find out who is aware until the final hours (making it harder to coordinate an attack/response to Starbane), because they won't talk about it themselves. Tough spot Mark has gotten them in lol 🤔
@@Matthew-pd4zx Oh I agree, there is definitely work that needs to be done, decisions that need to be made, and stuff they need to figure out. Which is why I'm getting annoyed with the same argument happening what feels like every episode, it's just holding them back and stopping them from making any real progress. And Kim is the one making it happen. I don't like bad-mouthing people, but I don't see any way to move forward unless either she drops it and allows something that wasn't her choice to happen, or everyone else gives up and lets her decision overrule them all. I'm not experienced with d&d groups so I fully acknowledge I could be very wrong here, but it just feels to me like she wants everyone to do what she wants and doesn't care about anything else. This is also after watching the beginning of lightfall and seeing her literally throwing a tantrum, sulking, and insulting another player because he didn't do what she wanted. So right now especially my view of her is very coloured by that, and this appears to me to be in the same vein though not as extreme.

1. All targets are moving during combat always. It doesn't cause disadvantage unless the target specifically takes the dodge action which I don't think a great big ship can really do...
2. Its a massive ship. It's essentially shooting a building.
What I'm confused about really, is who the 9 people are who disliked this video. Why..?
