The main question is WHY did you back it, WHY did you think it was going to come in in odds? That's the true secret we all need to learn!! (Good clear video for the basics though)
@@andyc7747yeah, but just being out on it's own doesn't mean it will always get shorter, surely? I was only commenting a bit tongue in cheek. It would be nice to find out how these traders pick their trades, but that sort of info generally isn't given away for free on youtube.... unfortunately ;-)
Good video. After 2 years of matched betting, i am gubbed from most - of the worthwhile - bookies. I have started looking into trading. Bought a few courses, but havent sussed when best to enter the horse racing trade in real time. Ive had some odds work in my favour, but quite a few have went the wrong way. Ive just bn doing small stakes until I am more confident and consistent with making profit.
I've never seen a gamble ridden that long, I think that's my problem, getting out too soon a lot of the time. There was so many times I would have got out there. But you rarely see something come in like that, that's a massive gamble. It was helped by the fact it was a novice of course but don't expect to do a trade like this very often.
What made you think thiis horses odds were going to get so much shorter? There was nothing obvious there to see. To me, you just went "right, Im going to put £300 in here" and it magically went in our favour.
Probably an unlimited amount. You're not playing against the bookie you're playing against other punters. So the bookies money isn't at risk. But Betfair take anywhere from 2-8% commission on winning trades depending on what plan you're on. And if you go over a certain number of markets they "tax" you. Bet Angel has a good video on that one. I can't remember the specifics.

Thanks for the insight. Though you should highlight the losses made when prices go the wrong way (which will happen a lot).
How you know when to get in? Which is critical.

Second trade. You stated it was the second favourite, It was actually the favourite
