NEWS! We have started a new TH-cam channel dedicated to what goes on in our life outside of the build. You can find the random events of our family, farm and more on the Wild Wonderful After Show: th-cam.com/channels/ljK0FmyKpsQ6h7Byg7KvbQ.html
Am watching from North East UK. I'm not going to build anything or even farm. I just love the way you interact with each other and admire what you're doing. Keep entertaining me please
You guys are the greatest ambassador family representation for off-grid living and the purpose behind it that is. Absolutely capture your audience with every video and always leave us wanting more!
You should go buy another box of tile now while the lots are simillar, trust me 15 years after our rehab, i needed to replace a single cracked tile, no mfg, no hope, but there in the dark corner of the basement was my saving grace, a partial box of 5 tiles....
How intelligent was that!!! Using a wet sponge to wet the tile! I am so impressed! Of course this coming from someone that doesn’t know anything about building! You are an awesome builder!
What he should have done is build a half inch high circular dam out of clay or plumbers putty around the hole and filled it up with water. Keeps the drill bit cool and lubricated.
That's because you and your wife take pride in what you do that's why I like watching your Channel you guys do such a great job and you put all of yourself into it
You guys are an inspiration. I am busy watching every single video u have uploaded. Im on the 4th of building the power house. Well done on everything. From cell phone 2 years ago to proffesional youtubers and dont forget the home you are making. Just awesome.
Your daughter stroking your hair at the end of the tile install was the sweetest thing ever. You can tell your children are really raised on love. ❤️ You guys are my favorite TH-camrs I just adore you for cute little moments like these. Thank you for sharing with us!!!
Unfortunately those will rip off in about a year due to high humidity, the glue will not hold. Maybe a clear plastic scream protector or any water resistant epoxy should be implemented to prevent the inevitable outcome. It looks awesome nevertheless. Great job guys.
You guys are awesome! My boyfriend and I are so happy we found your channel almost a year ago now. We are currently in different countries, but whenever you upload, we go on video call and watch you guys together in a way, of course it's not the same as being with the person but it gives me good vibes as if nothing's changed. You are our daily does of inspiration and motivation.
I like the look of your shower area and the grouting work you all completed and know you all will be glad to finish the work in your home and you can relax and enjoy your work. The floor looks great also and that was plenty of work also. I know that you all will be glad to receive the counter top where you can get it installed and can do plenty of cooking in your kitchen.
You guys knocked it outta the park ... love the tile, and the installment. What a sweet picture - your baby girl stroking mama’s hair ... too sweet. You guys are ending up with a very high end home - loving all the videos ❤️❤️
If your tile still has a haze on it from grouting. When it drys. Get a soft dry towel and dry buff it. No water. Water will keep activating the grout. It’s a little dusty but it works.
In 3 yrs. of the three parties I started watching on their builds, you guys are the only one that has come this far, as far as being nearly complete. I believe it’s due to the commitment to your build and the thorough planning you have done. Great job you guys. Your a great family and your children will be a great contributor to the community. God bless your family.
Held my breath while you were drilling the holes for the goosenecks! Just as I yelled "Keep the hole saw wet!" you squeezed the wet sponge on it. Haha! Didn't know my voice carried that far...😁 So happy for you and always looking forward to seeing you two knock down list.👍
I am so invested in your build. But it is the playful respect you show to each other and your family that keeps me anticipating your next vlog. To see your daughter stroking mommas pony tail brought a lump to my throat. I am going to navigate to the new channel to subscribe. Thank you both for such comprehensive explanations of what you are doing and why. I know when I build I will have a greater understanding of what I need to do. Thx and much respect to you bith
the bathroom looks incredible ! when you said there was a link in the description for the new channel, I paused the video, went to the new channel , subscribed and rang the bell. then I finished this video. can't wait to see more, You two are very entertaining.
Great news on the new channel. Been asking forever about doing more of the family, animals and homesteading. Would have liked to see it all in one channel but i'm excited and can't wait to see the videos of the other side of yours life. You are an inspiration to so many lives out there and i applaud your courage to act on your dreams and to build a better and more sustainable life and to sticking to the guy. By far the best homesteading channel on YOU TUBE.........
You two are such a great team. I love how Erin is in the middle of everything. Josh, you are doing a great job of leading your family. You take the time to teach and this is a very important step. Thank you both for sharing. Look forward to your new channel.
Such a cool shot of the dog [4:15] as Josh walks buy. You can see the reflection of him in the dogs eyes. Bathroom looks beautiful. It has so much going on visuals wise. Glass shower doors can be a pain to keep up on cleaning wise. Grab a squeegee to help a bit. Of course that may all depend on how hard your water is.
Love the new channel showing life on the farm. I love animals. We live on 4.5 acres 90% of the property is trees. Every night I walk the dog down our 300 ft long driveway I say hello to all the frogs/toads hanging out by our garage where the light brings out their nightly meals. You are all lucky to have that beautiful piece of property and thanks for sharing it
Here in Australia in Victoria we are in stage four lockdown curfew eight till five am one hour of exercise each day so you can probably guess how much I look forward to seeing your videos each so a new show is great news really enjoy your stuff thanks and good luck
Another phase of the build in the books ,, Good Job !! .. It's been fun and interesting to watch and see each project ,, ,, but ,, OMG !! The shot of Ellie with the kid baby melted the Internet !! I'm sure you are getting stills of all these moments ,, the scrapbooks will need their own room..... .....Stay Safe and God Bless .....

From a retired master tile mechanic, not a keyboard expert. What they did with the thinset mortar is actually correct and recommended. Horizontal keeps moisture behind all the tiles, it's best for the trapped moisture to travel down to the shower pan.
Tile is a pain in the butt to do with the angles and holes but Josh has done a great job !!!! I hope he got a few Little Debbie's for a snack !!!!! :) Have a great day !!!!!!
I was cringing while you drilled those holes in the tiles. What you did perfect was to start the bit with an angle. That permits you to start a grip point and if you start with the inner narrow bit straight up, it has a tendency to "travel". While the watered sponge worked, there were some tense moments when smoke was coming off of the tile and when ceramics overheat, they have a tendency to crack. Next time take some plumbers putty or clay and build a ring dam around where the hole will be. Then fill it with water. Also, while it take a lot longer, let just the weight of the drill with very slight pressure do the work. Otherwise you run the risk of the tile cracking. Another tip: when you are mixing your mud (adhesive or mortar) keep a second 5 gallon bucket full of water to lay the paddle mixer drill into. It keeps the mud from building up and running the risk of cracking the blades when "knocking off" the mud. For someone who has "never laid tile before", you craftsmanship was absolutely perfect. Kudos.
hans wurst , that’s not necessarily true, we live in Log Home and there is not one piece of sheet rock, complete interior is Wood . Which includes the bathroom.
..with pine ,, Will last for a while ,, but the moisture will win over time .. then replace with redwood or cedar....most saunas and wet areas are Redwood....
I initially thought Erin had edited in Josh's snore over Chuck....I was waiting for the camera to swing around and reveal Josh asleep! That is an impressive snore.....
Hey guys! We talk about ya'll every time we are out working on our wood supply. "We need to get on the Morgans level with this set up!" 🤣😂 Hope ya'll are doing well!
When doing custom bathrooms I put a light bead of silicone on tape side of LED strip to hold it. I've found the strips tend to let go after a while without the silicone. But looking awesome!!
oh my lord I was cringing when you drilled that hole in the tile balanced on a BUCKET !!!! But of course, you always end up doing everything perfectly so congrats :)
When using a notched trowel, you can trowel from the edges to the middle. The notches do not need to be continuous as long as there are no lumps or dry spots. Drag from the ceiling down to the middle then from the bottom up leaving no lumps. I wipe a thin layer of thinset butter on the back of the tile to wet it. Those LED lights show that you did not use a leveling board to level the tiles as you pressed the tiles into the thinset or leveling wedges with your tile spacers. I made that mistake once. You do such careful work You got it done but your next tile job could go easier. We learn with each experience. Save water, shower together... Woo Hoo.... Mommy, What's pubic hair? At first I thought the bathroom was too dark, and now with the tile it is Wild, Wonderful, and Off Grid. You guys are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cutting tile is extremely nerve racking when you have zero room for mistakes! It turned out beautifully!
Yes! He did it. I love your videos. They are nicely done and funny as well as informative. Thanks for sharing your lives with me.

You just brag away Josh you do excellent work. So proud of both of you and what you have accomplished. 👍🤗

Outstanding! Excellent fundamentals, mechanicals, electrical, finish work, and amazing overall vision!

Pressure is on and good job using some water that’s the trick I used but I also bought extra tiles because I knew I would break some
It's always a good idea to have a few extra tiles stored away for future replacement repairs.
So great about the new channel..while I am more about the off grid build, my daughter will love it!

on the surface of the glue in the shower you need to apply horizontally, if vertically, the condensate will flow down that will affect the bottom tile
From a retired master tile mechanic, not a keyboard expert.
What they did with the thinset mortar is actually correct and recommended. Horizontal keeps moisture behind all the tiles, it's best for the trapped moisture to travel down to the shower pan.
@@donniebrown2896 what do you think is worse that a small amount of moisture will evaporate or that the bottom row will be constantly wet ?

So excited to see more of you guys.
Outstanding music. Really makes your video fantastic. Thanks both.
Hey braggart! 🤣 You may want to order a few extra tiles just in case any of them crack over time. Especially if they were special ordered.
Great name Josh came up with ,for sure. Wild Wonderful off grid Family
It looks nice but i'm not so sure about the wood in the shower. Usually wood and moisture don't go together very well.
I'm glad I'm not the only one worried with water and the wood. This will be an issue.
hans wurst , that’s not necessarily true, we live in Log Home and there is not one piece of sheet rock, complete interior is Wood . Which includes the bathroom.
The two of must banter lot but look at what you have done WOW!!!! legends
Found you guys on accident, just showed up in my feed, great work, and interesting videos, keep up the great work!
I love your family’s lives thank you very much
Sending love love love and more love from Nairobi, Kenya ❤️❤️ I've been a silent watcher but you guys have been inspiring ❤️ keep it up!!
That tree behind you with three trunks ( around 17:17 ) would be great for a treehouse for the kids..
Question: How are you going to prevent water from getting all over the wood and ruining it... in the shower?
Treated wood
mistakes have been made.
so exciting to see you finish ur wonderful off grid haven
The wood in the shower, treated or something to protect from the water and steam?
Was wondering that too. But they probably just applied water seal to the wood (just like an exterior deck).
It's sealed and the ceiling exhaust will remove moisture from the air.
..with pine ,, Will last for a while ,, but the moisture will win over time .. then replace with redwood or cedar....most saunas and wet areas are Redwood....
Did they seal the grout ? I'd be concerned with that also.
@@augustreil
They used a water sealant on the drywall behind the tile, no need to seal the grout.
Josh. My man1. Gettin' the job done one tile at a time. Never lost faith for a N.Y. second.
Very well done.
Officially requesting more Chuck snoring in the videos.
what's that purring noise? (chuckie snoring)
I initially thought Erin had edited in Josh's snore over Chuck....I was waiting for the camera to swing around and reveal Josh asleep! That is an impressive snore.....
Chuck's the bomb!
Back Butter, Back Butter, BACK BUTTER!!!
I learned the hard way on that. Many "hallow" tiles replaced later, ALWAYS BACK BUTTER!
Hi there friends to the south!
Hey guys! We talk about ya'll every time we are out working on our wood supply. "We need to get on the Morgans level with this set up!" 🤣😂 Hope ya'll are doing well!
Cute video shot of your daughter loving your hair. A gentle loving caress , hoping her hair is as silly as yours.
Question in ignorance, will water affect the finished wood in the shower or will the stain protect it?
I believe the stain protects it
you guys are adorable......the video quality has grown to great interest and quality..... love your work of art u got there....hugs and thanks
It's so much perfection! Josh has the right to brag lol

I love watching everything come to gather. God bless.🇨🇦🇨🇦
You do such careful work
You got it done but your next tile job could go easier. We learn with each experience.
