Unless this has changed recently, 4 after DF2 causes some characters to fall out of B14. DF2, F2 is far more consistent, though a little less damage afaik. This can also happen on every character when further apart, which is a common occurance given the range of Leo's DF2.
Its kinda inconsistent with the 4 but most characters it works. It consistrntly drops against little girls like ling or xiaoyu, and Heihachi interestingly enough.
Small tip, the opponent needs to have just barely hit the ground if you want f3 to connect and not send them too far away to continue the combo. You can see it in this video how it looks like Leroy hits the ground, but then gets hit back into a combo.
Leo is one of those sad cases of character design that has a fun moveset/gameplan but a plain personality/lore. The gender ambiguity of the character is a big plus but with that comes it's downsides ... Half of Leo's quotes are slightly altered versions of Julia's T6 quotes (the praying with closed hands, the hand on the hips with the thumbs up etc.) It doesn't help that they share the same fighting style either... So not only doesn't the character feel fresh or different from the rest of the cast but the fact they are gender ambiguous makes people focus on the only thing Leo has to offer: Their gender. And if they don't focus on that their moveset is the only thing that seems to make them likeable. So a decent more distinguishable personality wouldn't hurt them. I just wish the devs would spice up their story/lore or give them a personality that's still gender ambiguous but refreshing and different. Maybe highlight their occupation as a spelunker? Archeologist? A bit clumsy or overly confident? Idk but in my personal humble opinion Leo needs to be worked on a little before returning to Tekken 8. 🤷🏻♂️
It's possible to make leo a better character not just in terms of moves. And doing so would make T8 better eventually. More content is always welcome as long as it stays interesting.
A lot of the times developers seem to want to make gender diverse characters without understanding gender diversity at all, so the character we're presented with is through the eyes of a writer/developer that only sees the exoticism of a non-traditional gender identity/physique/presentation, and doesn't know how to write an actual character in that space. They don't know how much focus it's supposed to take or how it potentially intersects with someone's personality and experiences, so oftentimes they're just left completely blank and the identity of the character is basically the single focal point. It's OK that writers and developers stumble sometimes when trying to write these types of characters that they don't understand, but hopefully they'll mature with the assignment over time, maybe talk to people with similar lived experiences they're going for with Leo to help write a more relatable character with a realistic personality.
Just a simple question about the trial: would it have been possible for the balcony break move to hold 2 for Leo to ki charge? I'm fairly sure they can do f,f+2* to ki charge on hit, just not sure if they can do it on balcony/wall break. Would probably add 1 or 2 damage?
I want to say they changed her df2 in the last balance patch but I can't for the life of me remember what the change is. It was some kind of buff, like launches crouchers, increased range, something.

You can do it, but the ki charge goes away right after the stage transitions. So its mainly to flex it doesn't add any damage.
It used to work back in older seasons i believe, but then they patched it

It has the same damage as F4, DF, WS312. You can use both depending on the wallcarry you need.
