What setting didn't you turn off/on at 9:15 to see what your camera is seeing exactly without a flash? I did my first photoshoot today with flash and was tethering but couldn't figure out how to actually see what I'm doing, the preview on my PC kept being black (except in the moment I was trying to focus). 🤔
Thank you Lauren. Great photos. I loved watching the assembly and the why you chose the placement of each item. Can you tell me the size table top board and the brand you prefer? A link would be great. 😊
Lauren, Very nice tethering presentation, thank you. I've been tethering for about 6 months and yes, I'm using Capture One also. I watch just about every tethering video I come across. It appears the majority of tethering video presenters are not using Nikon cameras so my comment may in fact be an only Nikon fault. Yours and many other tethering demonstrators almost always have a pretty clean live view on your screen. Not the case with my Nikon D7200. I also have a D780, but according to Nikon the live view function doe not work for tethering, brilliant of them. So, I'm kinda concluding Nikon has the poorest on computer live view output.
Lauren, Thank you so much for this video. I see that your tripod has a different arm or boom that doesn't come with the Manfrotto tripod you recommended, do you mind sharing the link to that, or do you have another video with the link? Thank you!!!
Hi Laura, nice video. The tethered shot is a kind save a life for us. My way to shooting is tethered I use an iPad to connect my camera and with an app name Cascable I can shoot everywhere and is much cheaper about 30 euros to buy the app. I think your way is pretty expensive cause you must buy a capture one and the high price of cable from tethered tools in combination with a laptop is too high. I like your work very much. Greetings from Greece.
Thank you so much I learned a lot! 😍 I use Sony a7iii and would like to teather to my IPad Pro but the Imaging Edge is not working properly it always shots down and not reliable any tips? 🙊
It could be that there's a setting in your menu controlling that. Without knowing your camera model or being there with you it's hard to help you specifically.
Hi Lauren, thanks for the video. Just a quick question as I don't think you mentioned it in your 'gear list'. But what is the bracket you have connected to camera?? Does it support the tether cable at all, or is it simply an 'L' bracket cause your shooting vertical?
@@LaurenCarisShort Chateaubriant and Beirut 60*80cm and I am excited. I have to shoot brunch menu for my Blog release party in July and these two will be God send for this project. yay♥️🙌😍
Hi is there a way i can automate a process in lightroom while being tethered that once i snap the photo it will apply a color correction ie white balance then print at the same time.. thanks - anyone else can answer please do so. -- without buying more software lol thanks
Thank you so much. You name such a great educator and communicator, Lauren.
Thanks, Lauren. I started tethering in 2016, but I only recently discovered overlays- an absolute game changer!
They are amazing aren’t they!
Happy to see more people using Capture1!!! Great video, thanks Lauren

I was wondering the same thing after my first C1 shoot recently ;-) Would love to hear if anybody knows how to solve this?
Thank you!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching Annelien!

Yes, sadly I've heard Nikon is not the best for tethering :( It's such a shame! I started my photography journey on Nikon and loved it for many years!

Hi Maurenice, I'm using the 131D Manfrotto side arm with the tripod!

Very informative video, thank you for sharing!! If you don’t mind me asking, where did you find that monitor stand?
Gute Arbeit. Super Video.

That's a shame... I guess it might depend what model iPad you have, maybe the program is a bit buggy with it
Hey there, where did you get that overlay from?
Excellent! How can I keep my live view open while I am placing and adjusting the products .it shuts within a second . Could you please help ?Thanks

What kind of tripod is that? It doesn't match with the Amazon link you shared. Thanks for the video!
I use usb extension cable lauren when i shoot or is that wrong?
How did you set up the live view from the camera? And how did you do it, that the camera doesn’t show a dark picture
Hello Lauren, love your videos. I am just learning Capture one. How do you show the two views together on the same screen
Hi there. I have same question. Did you figure out how to see the two views?
What stand do you use to hold your computer while you’re tethering?
Great video, thanks! Random question: where can I get that table that your computer is on?
I think Tether Tools sells it.
Yup that's it, I bought it, works great! Thanks
Do you maybe have affiliate code for backdrops? I love this Texturit brand!
Yes I do! Use the code LAUREN10 for 10% off at checkout!
Btw it's not an affiliate code for me... you just get a discount :)
@@LaurenCarisShort thank you darling. I got too excited and used Rachel's code and got myself proper backdrop 60*80cm. So excited

it is compatible for fujifilm?
Yes I believe there’s a Fujijilm version!

Excellent outcome... However, it's a little too clean for my taste. I wish there had been some stylized liquid splashes.
That’s the beauty of photography… everyone has their own style. I feel this image is busy enough and liquid would have made it too crowded
@@LaurenCarisShort That too...I agree!
