    Sad to see Silverback down again. With that much power, you were right to eliminate the belt, but like you said, the rest of the drive train will probably need upgrading too. Good luck with it, John.

    I just did the Trask basket on my 21RGS 128 and you did the right thing with a complete unit. It was a bitch to say the least to drill out the ‘rivets’ and get the old basket off. Thank god I have every tool under the sun because it would have stumped me without a drill press, 15 sets of drill bits and machining tools to help me get throught it all. The rivets themselves are solid steel and your bits naturally want to walk to the softer aluminum basket.

    Love the positive attitude, it's vital when high performance breakdowns are part of the game. Now start shopping for that Baker because with the amount of power that motor is making your 4th gear is closer to instant disassembly than one imperfect shift.

  • @achim9145

    That things happens when u got 2 much power!
    When u replace the clutch be aware that the new heavy duty clutch may be makes
    It heavier on shifting!!! It can be! Then u need a easy clutch shifter!
    I recommend 2 check the tra mission as well just 2 make sure!

    I am anxious to see if it has anything to do with the Rekluse Clutch basket sleeves again since I had the same issue you had before. I agree that the existing clutch on your build was probably a weak link for you and was bound to fail at some point. You need something heavy duty for that monster.

    I have a similar build to yours, though not sure what clutch you have 140hp/160tq.. I HAD the same problem.... I have a Barnett Scorpion Lock-up and basket, with all 6 heavy duty springs... then because the pull was brutal, I added a Rekluse slave to make the pull easier... but it does so (slave) by increasing throw... so had to get rid of that... then we pulled out the clutch... and for some reason, one of the clutch plates either bent or was not perfectly flat... for some reason, seems Barnett knows of this issue... they sent another plate and voila!

  • @RacerRick12
    @RacerRick12 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im pretty sure the hub gear has to be welded onto the new basket…Did you get a Busa basket made to fit the Harley ?
    you have broken friction plates or other broken clutch parts, thats why it engages instantly & stays engaged…
    Thats normal when you DragRace or beat up on the bike !

  • @BdeSimon
    @BdeSimon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is why I dont ride a cruiser like a sport bike. Hopefully the new parts fix this issue and hold up. But I always let off and fully pull the clutch when I shift. Dk how to power shift a bike like the roadglide and I dont intend to.

  • @DeBa1226
    @DeBa1226 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Bro, I don’t think the problem is having a big bore, big horsepower / torque engine build, seems the problem is dumping the clutch, doing burnouts, speed shifting, riding hard. I guess everyone has a riding style, I say just ride it. Cost a lot of money to fix these issues, and a bike sits on a lift rack waiting on parts. No need to beat the crap out of it.😂
