Glazunov conducted the world premiere of Rachmaninoff's first symphony (opus 13) He did such a lousy job of it that the composer left the auditorium blocking his ears. One critic (Cui) likened it to the Biblical plagues of Egypt. The composer did not revise the symphony. As a matter of fact he required therapy before composed anything. He may or may not have destroyed the score. After his death the orchestra parts were discovered and the score was painstakingly reconstructed. This time the symphony was performed to great acclaim.
Another great work by one of the princes of composition. Vintage Rachmaninoff, and I enjoy it greatly.
A great work by a beautiful man

Houston was the only place where they actually truley freestyled, everybody else had they stuff written
拉赫曼尼諾夫竟然還有這首隨想曲(?),首次聽到!是不是有點像林姆斯基高沙可夫的西班牙隨想曲?
About as near as Rachmaninov ever got to the kind of Orientalism found in Rimsky-Korsakov, Borodin & Gl _ _ _ _ _ _. And very nice too.
Gl _ _ _ _ _ _ ? Is this a name that must never be seen or spoken of?
what's wrong with glazunov :((
